From your computer backup.
Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not all media formats are available in all countries (see: iTunes in the Cloud, iTunes Match, and iTunes Radio availability by country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085); apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this).  Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones, audiobooks), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple recommends,  "... back up your iTunes library. • How to recover purchased apps after changing an Apple ID?

So I changed my apple id because my current email address is not working anymore on Yahoo. The next day when I checked for some updated on my apps, I found out that my deleted apps under "Not on this iPod" button are missing! And so I checked the store for my recent purchase and it has price. So it means I have to pay for them again to download! Anyone please help me how to recover them all!

Despite the fact that your old email doesn't work doesn't work anymore, the Apple ID still does.  Log out and back in again with the old ID and downlload the apps.  When finished, log out/in again to get back to your new ID.
These apps should sync to iTunes on your computer.  If they do not, do the same log out/in in iTunes to retrieve the apps and store them on your computer.
The Sync function is totally independent of which ID was used to obtain the apps, music, movies, etc.  The only time that you will care is when you need to update the app.  If you choose to do it from iTunes, you must again log out/in to update.  However, the iPod handles that for you and all you'll need is the correct password.

  • Purchased ringtones lost from phone and iTunes

Apple Chat Support had me uninstall and reinstall iTunes last night in a futile attempt to fix the 5000+ deleted emails that suddenly appeared in my mailbox last night and now my two purchased ringtones are gone from both my iPhone and from my iTunes account. I would love to get them back without repurchasing. And I would love to get some help on my email issue too. Apple Support now wants me to check with my email provider, which I will do, but for now is there any way to delete these 5000+ old emails besides marking each one individually? Thanks!

So I discovered the source of the email issue...my Road Runner email server messed up. They are still working on the problem but gave me a workaround that prevented further deleted emails from downloading into my email account. Of course deleting those 5000+ emails individually off my iPhone scared me half to death so I deleted my email account off the phone and then re-added it. That dumped all the emails, I am happy to report, including several I wanted to save but I just rescued them from RR webmail
Anxious to hear from someone with advice on finding my lost ringtones.

  • How to restore purchased ringtones after IOS 8 update

I have iPhone 5c.    After I did the IOS 8 update and then the ios 8.0.2 update, I no longer have my purchased iTunes ringtones (I only have three that I purchased).    It shows I purchased them in my iTunes store and my music icons on my phone.   But when I go to settings and sounds and tones, they are not there.   Trying to figure out HOW to restore them to my iPhone.
Help?    I am an idiot, so I would appreciate step by step directions.   Thanks!

  • How to recover original ringtones after deleting

I inadvertently deleted the ringtones that came with my LG VS840.  Is there some way to get those ringtones back?

The ringtones that come with an android device is saved in an area of the phone where the normal user doesn't have read write access only read only. How in the world did you delete them?
Have you tried to factory reset the device to see that restores the ringtones?

  • I was downloading music from my partners purchased music on my phone and it wiped all my existing music, how can i get my music back as i dont have it on my computer anymore?

i was downloading music from my partners purchased music on my phone and it wiped all my existing music, how can i get my music back as i dont have it on my computer anymore? please help me

If you bought this music from iTunes you can download it again from within your Purchases in the iTunes App.
Otherwise, razmee is right. you can only sync to one itunes library.  If you sync to another one whatever does not exist on the new library will get removed from the phone.
That's is by design to avoid Piracy. As otherwise you could simply transfer purchases to other users.

How do I activate a downloaded purchased ringtone for my phone?

Go to Settings>iCloud and sign out. Any synced data, such as calendars and contacts, will be removed.
To get a new ID: go to http://appleid.apple.com and create a new ID - you will need a different non-Apple email address from any ID you already have.
Then go back to Settings>iCloud and sign in there, enabling any data types you want to sync in the list there. You will be asked to create a new @icloud.com address when enabling Mail.

  • How to find purchased ringtones on iPhone 4s

I'm new to all this. New to iPhone, new to smart phones, basically new to iTunes - I've had the software on my computers for years, somewhere along the line I created an account but really never used iTunes.
I bought a ringtone on my phone and want to put in on my wife's phone - we share the same iTunes account. After I purchased the ringtone, it showed up in my ringtones fine. However I can't figure out how to get it on the other phone, while playing around trying to find the way I went to the store from my phone, from the ringtones settings and can't even find that purchase at all. I know I was charged for it. When I look at recent purchases it has options for:
    Music
    Movies
    TV Shows
When I tap Music it shows all the music we've purchased but no ringtones - no option for Ringtones or Tones on recent purchases so I'm lost, please help and remember, I come from a Windows background and am not that fimilar with iTunes. I've googled for restoring lost ringtones but all the directions seem to be for a previous version of iTunes because I can't find what they are talking about.
    Thank You for your help!!

while I was playing around last night in between your answers to my questions I hit 'Consolidate Files' on the right click for the ringtone and didn't restart iTunes, didn't think about it last night but if the files were moved maybe iTunes needed to be restarted. I do not know this software but I'm guessing that is the cuase of my problems.
However I did hit Revert and Apply so I don't know.
On iTunes when you click menu File > Library > Organize Library... > Consolidate Files, you are letting iTunes manage your content, it will make a copy of your content to the path where iTunes keeps indices, media structures, etc.
It is a good idea to do that since it will update the database as well.
I am wondering if I should delete the back-ups for both phones and start over following your procedures again, I'm just a bit leary to do that. If I go that route, would I need to deregister and re-register phones too?
You can delete the backups in iTunes > Preferences...(Windows: Edit > Preferences...) > Devices > delete the backup here. After that, you can right click on iPhone in iTunes sidebar and do a fresh new Backup.

No, you do not need to de-register and re-register iPhones.

    Hi Janelh,
I also confused about this, I can't do that by myself I don't know the reason. I search it and see phone transfer tool needed. However what is the best tool? Maybe copy data from old iPhone to pc first? Just to see here:  how about it?

I lost my purchased ringtones after the latest update. Not super happy!!!  How do I get them back without buying them AGAIN?

    Hello dorothea31,
Not sure what happened to your purchased ringtones, but you can download them again.
See this for details.  It says iOS 8.1.1 but the download section still applies.

  • How do i get ringtone to my phone from email

how do i get ringtone to my phone from email

That would be very difficult, but possible ... you would have to use iTunes on your computer.
You would have to make sure that:
    *  The ringtone is really a ringtone (correctly formatted)
    *  You own the ringtone (if purchased, it was not purchased by someone else).
You would email the ringtone to your computer, remove the attachment, and add it in iTunes' "Tones" section on your computer.  Then you would sync it to your iPhone.

I bought a ringtone on my phone and now i don't know how to find it or sign it to a contact

    Hello HeatherSimpson,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
    From the iPhone User Guide
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
Assign a different ringtone for a contact: In Contacts, choose a contact, tap edit, then tap Ringtone and choose a ringtone.
If you cannot find the ringtone you are trying to assign to your contact, you may need to contact iTunes Store direcly with the reciept for the purchase.
