How to recover sony ARW files deleted by Aperture after importing?

I imported some Sony RAW photos (in .ARW format, shot by Sony Nex 6) from a SDXC card into Aperture library with my MacBook Pro, and as usual I let Aperture deleted the files on the SDXC card (i.e. I did not deleted the files using Finder).  Unfortunately I accidentally deleted the imported ARW files (as masters in the Aperture library) by Carbon Capy Cloner (I made a copy in the wrong direction after editing the photos).  Now I am trying to recover those ARW files.  I used several Photo recovery software but they do not recognize any deleted ARW files on the SD card (nor on my hard drive). The best result was from Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery software, which recognizes those deleted ARW files as NEF files but the size of each photo is only 32KB (it shows the photo in its preview).  I recovered them, but no software can open those 32KB NEF files.  It appears to me that Aperture somehow deleted the ARW files on the SD card in a way (very different from Finder deletion) that photo recovery software can't recognize them.  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

Yes I understand that trying to recover from my HD is more difficult, so my attention is on the card now.  In fact, I tried to use Stellar to recover from the HD as well and I got tons of other photos and non of them is ARW.
I have kept both the HD and the card not being used anymore (I stopped using it right after I made the copy in the wrong direction, and the card is not being used after Aperture deleted the photos), so the data should be there.  I tested with Stellar on a new card.  I shot some ARW photos and format the card on my NEX 6 camera, then try to recover them with Stellar.  Same result: no ARW files, only NEF files of size 32KB or less (the photos in the preview are correct).  Strange.  I tried Remo software, no ARW either, not even NEF files.  I guess I am using the wrong recovery software (although they advertise that they recover ARW files).  Is there any recovery software that DOES recover ARW photos shot by Sony NEX 6?

how to recover photo that i deleted accidentally while i was trying to upload the photo to the computer??
also, itn't itune will backup myself whenever i sync???Will the old back up file got updated when i connect the phone with computer??

I don't think recovery software will help since the file isn't just deleted, it's overwritten.  If you want to try, the backups are located at one of these locations:
    Mac OS: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
    Windows XP: %AppData%\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
    Windows Vista: %AppData%\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

Check the Recycle Bin--if you've accidentally deleted the file, it should still be there unless you've emptied the bin, and you can click on the file and
    recover it.
Use the Auto Recovery Pane when you open Excel. Review the document recovery pane. If Excel has managed to recover your file, it will show in a separate
pane on the left-hand side. Identify your document in the pane, then click on it and choose "Open" to open the recovered file.
Try manually repairing the file. Click on "File" in Excel 2003 or the "Office" button in
Excel 2007, then select "Open" and click on the arrow next to the "Open" button. Click on
"Open and Repair" and choose from two options: click on "Repair" if you want to try to completely recover the file, or click on "Extract
Data" if you previously tried Step 1 and it did not work.
Search for the file manually on your computer. When performing a system search (click "Start" and select "Search" in Windows XP and
Windows 2000, or press the "Windows" button and "F" key in Windows 7 and Vista), make sure you choose "Advanced Search Options" and then check the "System and hidden files" check box. You may be able to find your missing
or corrupted file using this search: double-click on the file name in the search results to open it.

You can only retrieve them if the call history is part of your last backup, then you would just simply restore your phone.   However any changes made to your phone since the last backup will be overwritten.

in this environment, how to recover the passwd file(we have one copy)?
    Thanks

The procedure can differ depending which volume manager software you use, it this is the case. But basically, you should boot with an external media, like DVD or jumpstart server, mount the root partition and fix the /etc/passwd file, umount the partition and finally reboot.

I believe you will find you can again sync Photos if you delete the "iPod Photo Cache", but predict that any subsequent attempt will fail.  In my case, the enxt sync removes all the photos again - I've seen other reports of error messages upon sync.  Mine just fails silently. :-)

How do I delete the media after import from camera?

The usual procedure with video is you backup the card contents onto an archive drive. You import from the archive drive making a copy (professionals on set make two copies), and once the backups and import are verified, the card is reformatted in the camera.

how to recover hp pre-installed games and office after system restore for HP Mini 210-4127se?

    Hi,
You can reinstall them from Recovery Manager by clicking on Start=> All Programs.
If you have performed a complete HP Recovery using F11 then all the software should be there. If you have performed a minimized recovery then you can install applications from recovery manager...If none of these works then you'll need USB recovery..
Here are the links that will guide you through the process:

Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 7)
    Order USB Recovery
    Note:
If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem

  • Deleting Camera Images after Importing

    Hi there..
Can someone tell me if there's a setting in Aperture 2.1.2 that allows you to delete the image files on the camera after importation. This facility was available in iPhoto and now that I have upgraded to Aperture I really miss this feature as it's not obvious how it can be done... even if it can be done..?? It's a real pain having to manually delete the photos from the camera over and over.
    I'm using a Canon 450D.
Any help or suggestions.... most welcome.
    Regards,
    Anthony

Reformat the card in-camera after backing original image files up on the computer. It only takes a few seconds. The workflow as described below in an earlier post uses my preference, a Referenced-Masters Library, but could also be used with a Managed-Masters Library .
I feel pretty strongly that card-to-Aperture or camera-to-Aperture handling of original images puts originals at unnecessary risk. I suggest this workflow, first using the Finder (not Aperture) to copy images from CF card to computer hard drive:
    • Remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into a memory card reader. Faster readers and faster cards are preferable.
    • Finder-copy images from memory card to a labeled folder on the intended permanent Masters location hard drive.
    • Eject memory card.
    • Burn backup hard drive or DVD copies of the original images (optional strongly recommended recommended backup step).
    • Eject backup hard drive(s) or DVDs.
    • From within Aperture, import images from the hard drive folder into Aperture selecting "Store files in their current location." This is called "referenced images." During import is the best time to also add keywords, but that is another discussion.
    • Review pix for completeness (e.g. a 500-pic shoot has 500 valid images showing in Aperture).
    • Reformat memory card in camera, and archive originals off site on hard drives and/or on DVDs.
Note that the "eject" steps above are important in order to avoid mistakenly working on removable media/backups.
Also note with a Referenced-Masters Library that use of the "Vault" backup routine backs up the Library only, not the Masters. Masters should be separately backed up, IMO a good thing from a workflow and data security standpoint.

  • Why are my legira hfm36 files so much bigger after import to iMovie?

    Hello
When i import files from my camcord legira hfm36 the files become much lagrer after import... :-/
What is wrong, i use 32gb sdhc card in cam and When i import it All it Will take 270 gb space??? Why...
    Palle

AVCHD which is likely the format you are shooting in create a .mts or .m2ts file that is highly, highly compressed as it is saved onto the camera. When it is decompressed and imported into iMovie it can expand up to between 40+ and at a max 75 Gbytes for each hour of video shot. So there's no free lunch when you shoot High Definition video on the typical AVCHD video cam, the space available you have to expand those video clips is going to evaporate very quickly. So consider purchasing an external USB hard drive as quickly as possible.

  • How can I view Sony ARW files in Bridge CS4?

    Hello
I have a Sony A390, which takes ARW files (I guess Sony's version of a RAW file?), which annoyingly do not show up in Bridge CS4. Would really like to know if there is a way round this please? I have tried updating through Bridge, but it claims there are currently no updates?
    Thank you!

You can not open those files from CS4 directly.
That camera was first supported by ACR 6.2, which requires CS5 to run.
Look for, download, install and then run the free, stand-alone DNG Converter 8.5 to convert your raw Sony files into raw DNGs that you can later open in CS4.
