Restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. All of the original partitions will be restored, including the recovery partition.
If no recovery discs were created, you can obtain them from Toshiba.

    Hi,
Here's an alternative option you can use.
Before trying the following, make sure you can still read the 25 Character Product Activation key on your Windows COA label ( 5 blocks of 5 alpha/numeric sets ).
An example of a COA Label can be seen Here.
You can create an installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the correct Disc Image ( this must be the  same version that originally came with your notebook - ie Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit ) from the link below and use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly to a blank DVD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here.  These Images are clean and from a well-respected source, however there are only limited versions available.
    Windows-7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit
Use the disc to perform the installation, enter the Windows activation key found on the COA Label when requested and when the installation has completed, use the 'Phone Method' detailed in the link below to activate the OS - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who just want a clean installation of Windows 7 without the additional software load normally bundled with OEM installations.

Any additional drivers and software you may need can be found Here.

    Hello Fah Ad,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you want to recover restore a deleted backup you made of your phone from your iTunes library.
If you are using a Mac and use Time Machine, you can restore the file by going to the location where the folder that normally holds the file here:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Note: The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your home folder, Option-click the Go menu.
    From: iTunes: About iOS backups
              http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946
Then use the Restoring data from Time Machine backups section of this article to restore your backup file.
    Mac Basics: Time Machine
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1427
If you are using Windows, here are the file locations for the backups you can use with your backup software to restore them:
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and click OK.
    Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

Deleting large data would have ultimately put ghost cleanup into action. You would not be able to free space using shrink operation untill it completes. So wait for time and then start shrinking. You should note that shrinking would cause fragmentation and
you would have to rebuild indexes after shrinking is completed

"it shows macintosh HD OSX 10.9.5 but the hard drive that is supposed to be in the upper right corner is not showing up. So it is booting from that drive."
Ok go to "Finder" preferences and make sure the "Hard disk" box is checked.
That will make your boot disk show up in the upper right corner. You can tell it's a boot disk because all the files will look like this instead of just being blank files.

  • Why it takes long time to query ldap using the filter (uid=*) after deleting all(140000) the entries from the LDAP.

The platform we are using is Iplanet 5.1 running on Solaris 8 with Sun 280R dual processor 900Mhz with 4GB ram

Are you using replication? If so, this may be due to the fact that the database is now full of tombstone entries. So, how do you get rid of the tombstone entries? That depends on your update rate and the number of servers you replicate to, plus how painful it is to reinitialize all of the consumers.
If your tombstone purging is too aggressive, you risk losing state information you need during update resolution.
If you don't care about any of this, the easiest thing to do is to export your database then reimport. After this, you will have to reinitialize the other servers as well.

    Hi there,

Note the emphasis above, provided by me. Mentioning that you have pre-release software is clearly sharing the information that it exists, and thus a violation of that agreement. How Apple chooses to proceed on such a revelation on their forums is up to them.
As to your question, if the pre-release software is given to you as a .dmg, I'm sure it is also accompanied by some kind of basic instructions as to what you're supposed to do with it. You'd better find those instructions, since nobody else who has access to that pre-release software is likely to want to jeopardize future invitations by answering you on a public forum.

  • HEADACHE!!! How to fix the unknown user on my external hard disks?

I applied 10.5.1 update and now my Volumes permissions are screwed!
Read thru similar problems in these discussion forums and not sure what the folks are writing about. Too technical for me. I basically know that if I can't correct the permission, I can't write or change stuff I need to do with the external HD.
I have an (unknown) Read & Write in my external HD's Get Info. I'm unable to remove it. If I tried to add a new name, my Finder will relaunch.
HELP?!!! Really need a step-by-step guide to fix this problem.

    1. Launch System Preferences and select Sharing pref.
    2. Select File Sharing and you'll see *Shared Folders:* and Users: boxes.
    3. Drag affected Volume to the *Shared Folders:* box and you'll see the users permissions in the Users: box.
    4. From the Users: box, you can add or remove users and correct their permissions.
Works for me. Didn't have to use Terminal which was too complex for me.

    Hi,
Archive log files are the copies of redolog files. As redo log files are circularly overwritten, oracle generates archive log file of the corresponding redo logfiles being overwritten. So if you have a backup that dates back to 10 am in the morning and if your database creashed at 3 pm,you cannot use the redo log files alone as they have incomplete information. To completely recover the database upto 3 pm,you need archive log files generated between 10 am to 3 pm. In your case since you are missing one archive log file, you cannot perform complete recovery and hence would suffer data loss.

  • Due to reinstallation of mac 2nd partition is nt showing how to recover the partition and data

Due to reinstallation of mac 2nd partition is nt showing how to recover the partition and data

If you have no backup your only option is to perform incomplete recovery (point-in-time recovery) to the time just before the drop, export the table and then restore the database (for example, from a cold backup taken just before the incomplete recovery,) and import the table. This obviously requires a full backup
taken before the drop which you don't seem to have, so the answer is "regrettably no."
    If you have a backup;
Take backup of ur current db, apply previous day backup, do point in time recovery to get table back, export table, shutdown and apply latest backup, import table back

  • How to recover the deleted SMS message, Contacts, CallHistory and Photos from ipad.

how to recover the deleted SMS message, Contacts, CallHistory and Photos from ipad.

If you did the backup of your data before deleting then you can easily get back the data by the following steps:
    1. First don’t connect your iPad directly to computer because the iTunes only saves the most recent backup
    2. Now make sure that you have a valid backup as listed iTunes> preferences> devices
    3. Before connecting your iPad make sure to check iTunes>preferences> devices "prevent iPad from syncing automatically." Because this will ensures we don't erase the previously stored backup. Then select ok and close the window after checking " don't sync"
    4. Now connect your iPad to your computer .
    5. Select the iPad as seen in the left bar of iTunes, as listed under the devices .
    6. Select version and click on restore from options.
    7. It takes a while to for iPad to erase itself, reset and restart.
    8. After the iPad is restart you will see Set Up Your iPad in iTunes on your computer, and now just click the restore from the backup and click continue. It will take 10 to 12 minutes to recover your data from iPad, including the deleted sms, notes, photos, music, contacts etc.

  • How to recover the deleted reports from crystal reports XIR2

    Hi,
There have been few crystal reports have been deleted from crystal environment and i would like to know how to recover them. please advice the best possible ways to recover them. CMS repositoty in SQL server database
    thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Krishna

Hope, your question is this "How to recover the deleted Crystal reports in XI R2".
    Answer for this question is...
Yes, it is possible if you have backup of your CMS and FRS.
Copy the CMS database from the backup to your database server and point the CMS ODBC system DSN to it.
Copy the backed up file store to a Temp directory.
Change the path of input and output file repository servers in the CMC, for each server, to the Temp file store directory.
You will now be able to find the reports. Copy those reports to the BO server's local disk, or create a BIAR file using the Import Wizard.
Point the ODBC system DSN back to the original database and also change the paths on input file repository and output file repository servers back to their original locations.
Publish the reports to Enterprise from the BusinessObjects server's local hard disk.
