How to reduce Hub 3 output POWER?

I use my laptop in the same room (~5m) as the router and wondered if there was a way of reducing the output power from the Hub 3 antenna, which has a range of ~40m?  I have two young children in the room and am concerned about wi-fi signal levels.  A colleague mentioned that he can reduce the output power of his APPLE router easily.  Is there a similar option for the Hub 3 BT product?  I realise that if I do not have the laptop switched on, i.e. no activity, then the power level drops automatically, which is a great feature.  Thanks,  Fred.

There is no facility to reduce power apart from the power save option which turns the WiFi off.
The maximum power allowed by WiFi is 100mW (100 milliwatts) which is very small. If you are concerned about WiFi, then it would be better to turn it off, and connect to your laptop using an Ethernet cable.
You can extend the Ethernet port of the hub by using Powerline adapters. Which use the mains wiring to carry the data.

  • How to reduce size of output file?

    Hi,
I am using Oracle Reports Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2 to generate native Microsoft Excel spreadsheets with the DESFORMAT=SPREADSHEET, DESTYPE=FILE and PRINTJOB=No options. The size of the file is several MB, 12 MB and up to be more exact. Once I save that spreadsheet as a native Microsoft Office Excel 2007 spreadsheet, the size is less then 1MB. Any ideas on how to get Oracle Reports to generate a more reasonable sized spreadsheet file? Will an upgrade to the latest version of Oracle Reports fix this?
    Thanks,
    ScottK

BI Publisher has two options for this issue:
    1. BI Publisher Enterprise 10.1.3.4.1 Apply the latest Consolidated update patch.
Note 797057.1 in oracle support 'Overview of Available Update Patches for Oracle BI Publisher Enterprise' has the latest patch number.
This provides the ability to use true Excel (binary .xls) files as layout templates.
This layout format will generate binary Excel (.xls) output.
    2. Or the end users can save the BIP Excel file to their PC, then open in Excel and "Save As" binary excel file, which the Excel program compresses.

  • How can I manage audio output power save time?

I need to make spdif-audio out always ON, that's needed for my external DAC which is synced on the signal correctly. However, the system mute audio out in about one minute of silence. How can I avoid this power save and keep sync signal always ON, or, at least, increase power save time up to 10-15 minutes?
    Thanks!

You may be able to do what you want with Rogue Amoeba's Airfoil for Mac.
    Best of luck.

  • How to reduce number of output parameters in case of determination engine API

    Hi
We are using determination engine API to integrate with the third party (OBRM) . In that case all the base/top/intermediate attributes have been sent in xml as output.
Is there any way to filter out the output parameters as I don't want to send all attributes in output XML.
    Thanks and Regards

There are the following possible copies of an object that can be made in TopLink.
    - Session cache - copy of object stored in the Session cache, this instance is considered read-only and can be shared. In the case of a shared cache, this copy exists in the ServerSession cache, in the case of an isolated cache, this copy exists in the ClientSession cache.
This copy can be created whenever a query is executed against a ClientSession, or non-isolated UnitOfWork. To avoid this copy for an update operation, you can query in a UnitOfWork, and set your descriptor's unitOfWorkCacheIsolationLevel to ISOLATE_CACHE_ALWAYS (added in 10.1.3).
This copy can be created after a inserted object is committed as well. ISOLATE_CACHE_ALWAYS will also avoid this.
    - UnitOfWork working copy. Instance of the object that is modified in the UnitOfWork. This instance must exist as at least one instance is required, unless UpdateAll / DeleteAll / SQL queries are used.
    - UnitOfWork backup copy. This copy is used to track changes to the object. This copy can be avoided if attribute change tracking is used (added in 10.1.3, weaving added in 11g).
So, it is possible to only have a single copy.
You can also use a DatabaseSession which only maintains a single copy. You can use Insert and UpdateObjectQuery's, these will update everything and not give you the benefit of change tracking nor a shared cache, but may be useful in batch transactions such as yours.

  • How to reduce output power

    Hi guys,
I have a 2 yr old extreme base station. And I am using the most upadated aiport utility. I can't find the option to reduce the output power. Am i missing something? Or has apple decided to take that option away...
    Thansk for your help.

Unfortunately, Apple dropped a number of options and features when they "upgraded" AirPort Utility in the Lion operating system.
If you are still using OS X 10.7.4, fortunately you can download and install AirPort Utility 5.6 for Mac OS X Lion and use this version of the utility to get those features back.
Keep both AirPort Utility 6.1 and 5.6 on your Mac and use the one that you want.

  • How to reduce Post-Processing time in oracle applications R12?

    Hi All,
I ran a XMLP concurrent program at 16-APR-2015 11:23:52 . It's completed at 16-APR-2015 11:30:41. So it took 6 minute 49 seconds. I check the query in sql developer, it's executing less than two minutes. When I check the log file of that program shows the following info...
Beginning post-processing of request 22226009 on node DEV at 16-APR-2015 11:24:43.
    Post-processing of request 22226009 completed at 16-APR-2015 11:30:41.
So what is the reason?, and how to reduce the time?

HTML is a simple format (Text).
Excel is more complicated and requires more time to generate. The same applies for Word and PDF output.
Maybe the processing power and memory of the server are not high and this does not help generate the output faster.
I have a workaround for you, generate an XML file (which should finish faster) and open it in Excel.

I am taking over a job from someone who is gone and I can't ask him how to do this.  He used Photoshop to reduce the number of colors in an image (for example, a color drawing or clipart) to 2-6 colors.  I haven't been able to figure this out.  I've visited this site that explains how to reduce tones but it's still a lot of colors.  I thought I might learn something from this link that explained how to make Photoshop cartoons, but I didn't.  I've done a lot of searching but nothing seems to explain this.  I know that the other guy had some knowledge of Photoshop but he wasn't a power user.
Thanks to anyone who will help me.  (I am using CS5.)

Are you sure that he was using Photoshop? (see my third solution)
There are some plug-ins for Photoshop, but they basically do the same as the posterize or index mode: http://www.topazlabs.com/simplify/ (commercial) see this panel for colorizing comic art: http://vimeo.com/user3771002/videos
I would rather use posterize, as an adjustment layer, as you can control it.
Try with this layer stack, from bottom to top:
Convert the original image in a Smart Object, in order to use Smart filters and blur the image (Gaussian Blur, or noise>median or blur>smart blur or blur>surface blur could be interesting internatives) would be useful, to make smoother posterized areas.
A dodge/burn layers (a neutral gray layer in overlay mode) to adjust areas using the Dodge/burn tools.
the Posterize Adjustment layer, with very few colors
On top of it, put a gradient map adjustment layer, to control the posterized colors
Vectorizing in Illustrator can also be used to reduce the number of colors. Live Trace: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/illustrator/cs/using/WS714a382cdf7d304e7e07d0100196cbc5f-6229a .html

  • How to reduce a iTunes HD movie smaller to 1GB for iPad in iTunes 11?

I downloaded a HD movie 4GB. Want to put it on my iPad, but the movie has to be 1GB max.
How to reduce the size of the movie from 4 to 1 GB in iTunes 11?
'advanced > make version for iPhone had gone...?

I want to be able to watch my 1080p work on Apple TV in the best quality.
The TV device is limited to max of 720p playback. While the TV1 did have an option to scale content for output as 1080i or 1080p, this was discontinued with the TV2 since 1080p native HDTVs will automatically rescale the negotiated input as/if needed for proper viewing. To maintain compatibility with the TV1 device, Apple presets will export 720p content only if the source file is larger than or equal to these dimensions and the frame rate is 25 fps or less. They will not allow you upscale smaller dimension files. Thus, your 1080p source files will be exported as either 720p24 or 540p30 files depending on the source frame rate. If you have an TV2 device and wish to ensure a 720p30 output, then use a free third-party app like MPEG Streamclip or HandBrake. Both have TV2 specific conversion options.

  • Adsl sync/ output power problems.

    Hi all,
I live in a rural area and dont expect super fast speeds but for the last 2 years I have had a stable 2.5mb connection.  But for the last 4 days now I have been unable to sync any higher then 600kbps. I have not changed anything at my end.  Looking at the output power, is this not insanely low? and any ideas how I change it.
help my internet is useless at this speed.

    Or one of these

  • N96 audio output power

i searched everywere and i didn't found the output power of the n96
i thing it's a big mistake don't apear in the specs. it's very important.
if some one could help me i appreciate.
something that for me would be better.. the sound should up and down 5 points when using the speaker(not 10)..like when we are using the headphones...
    thanks

When you say output power do you mean the how loud the headphones are, ie Volume?
Because the handset is of European design it has to conform with European Legislation, one country in Europe says that there is a maximum volume output a device can produce from its headphones.
You will find that most devices including European Models of the Apple iPod etc will also conform to this limitation. As Apple is a US company they make devices with and without the limit for EU and Non EU countries however as Nokia is based in the EU all their devices carry this restriction.
    Shunts...
I will mostly be communicating with a Nokia E72 Zodium Black
Nokia E72-1 with Vr 051.018.207.04 Software
If this post helped... Add some kudos!!

  • Radio output power  of internal Airport Extreme

Does anyone know what the Radio Output Power (dBm) is for the built-in Airport Extreme 802.11n in the Intel iMac (MA876LL, MA877LL, MA878LL: http://support.apple.com/specs/imac/iMacMid2007.html)?
For example, the power output for the Airport Extreme base station is 20 dBm (per specs: http://support.apple.com/specs/airport/AirPortExtreme_Base_StationN.html).
I'm wondering whether I would achieve better wireless connectivity by deactivating the built-in Airport and plugging the iMac via gig-ethernet into an Airport Extreme that is operating as an extension of a wireless 802.11n network (assuming that the AEBS has better array of antennae, radio output strength, etc.).

Can anyone tell me their experience using the MBP built-in airport to create a network? How powerful is it, how far is the range?
The built-in AirPort in your MBP was primarily designed to be a wireless client ... not a router. Although OS X allows your MBP to perform as a "software" router, my experience is that it is somewhat limited.
As far as range is concerned, this type of wireless network would only be good for a relatively small area ... like a single room.

  • How to reduce the size of cloned Oracle Applications Instance

How to reduce the size of cloned Oracle applications instance, so as to save the storage space for the cloned systems.
How can we remove unimplemented modules in the instance so that we can reclaim the space occupied by them.
can any please suggest on this..?

    mumbai,
I would recommend to leave it as it is.
If you can add some inexpensive HDD to your test system then do so.
The Apps DB storage decreasing process is quite painful and isn't straightforward.
You can’t just delete unused schemas & tablesapces (if they are not used than they are not consuming reasonable space anyway). The modules in Apps are using each other procedures and objects. The effect of deleting one module (schema) is highly unpredictable.
If you will do something like that than you will not be able to patch your cloned system after that.
Some things can be done however in order to reduce size of a testing Apps system:
    - Decries UNDO & TEMP tablespaces. Normally you do not need that big tbs in test system as you have got in the production.
    - If your REDO LOG files are quite big and you have got a lot of redo groups you can recreated smaller REDO log files.
    - On Apps tier you can delete OUTput and LOG files
In case you still would like to decrease data volume in your testing system you need to take a look on some tools which provide data subtracting capabilities from Apps DB. This process has to be quite intelligent. The tool have to know the data structures in APPS DB and subtract data in the way to not harm logical relationships between records. After a subtracting process you will need to make multiple FULL exp/imp cycles in order to reduce physical space consumed by the database. Beside the fact that those tools are quite expensive you will need to spend a lot of your time to implement those.
BTW: That is the size of you production DB? Have you analyzed which module takes most of the space? May be you can identify top 10 objects and try to archive a data from those object preventing the future grow of the production database.
    Just my 0.02£

  • How to reduce the transparency of these curtains?

Hi all, I am currently photoshopping (CS5) this picture and I was wondering whether anyone could give me some advice on how to reduce the transparency of the curtains (in the bottom half a terrace and window frame are shining through)? I tried playing with the 'Output Levels' on those areas, but the result is quite uneven. If only the folds were parallel I could stretch the top part over the terrace. Thanks in advance!

In the end I stretched out the terrace bits and levelled it out with the rest of the curtains.
