How to Reduce AI Vector file size: An Adobe illustrator Tutorial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5m3TKrXE3g
My AI file size was not going under 1 MB even by deleting extras so what I did is I opened a raster small image of 100 kb with Adobe Illustrator. then deleted the image and saved the file as AI. Then I Copied the whole vector content of original AI file that was bigger then 1 MB with ctrl+c command and pasted it in the new file created with raster image. and saved it. Wow the new file size is only 137 kb now.
Thanks

    I've found in Pdf's many time when you go to Optimize a PDF and look at the font list there are often up to a 1/2dozen copies of a given font, say Helvetica, then that many Helvetica Bold, or Arial or Ariel Italic
    What I do ie remove from list all but one copy of each different font. often dramatically reduces the size. also something lese is Flattening images will in some cases reduce a file size. I have run into a case where it actually made a PDF Larger.

  • Illustrator CS4 file size extremely small

    I am having issues with Illustrator creating file sizes that are only 100-200KB.  Any reason why?  And when I print, they are pixelated.

    What's in the files? ANd waht exactly do you save?

  • How to reduce image's file size in Preview?

    I am in Preview Version 5.0.3 (504.1).  I have a PDF file that is 3.7 meg. in size.  That is a big large for what I want to do with it.  I would like to reduce its size to something a bit more manageable.   The Preview Help gives these instructions:
    To reduce an image’s file size without changing its dimensions:
    Choose Tools > Adjust Size.
    Select “Resample image.”
    Enter a smaller value in the Resolution field.
    My problem is that in my open window for this file the "Adjust Size" tool is dimmed.  I cannot choose that tool as instructed.
    Does anyone know why and how to get Preview to reduce the size of a PDF file?

    try File-Save As...
    & choose format:pdf    quartz filter:reduce file size
    pick another name to check the results - there's no undo

  • Media Encoder File Size Estimates Very Inaccurate (How to Reduce Blu-ray File Size)

    Hello there!
    I made several wedding videos last summer and exported my video and footage to HD .m2t files using a high profile h.264 codec and they always came out being plenty small to fit on my single layer Blu-ray disks. But this year I filmed a wedding (same camera) but my files seem way larger, so I'm doing something different, and I'm not sure what. Should I use MPEG2?
    I'm attaching an image of my Encoder settings. I will say that the files it outputs are playing at the proper rate (in this case, the video rate hovers around 12mb/s like it should). Encoder estimates a file size of 2.7 gb, but the final file is 16.4 gb. That's not very close. This file is full HD, 23.976 fps, 8-bit and about 30 minutes long. I should be able to easily fit this, and the other videos I need on the same disk at these low data rates right? I have some of my Disney Blu-ray movies ripped on my computer and they play at 40 mb/s. That's twice my max rate and those files are 20 gb for an hour of video (including 3 5.1 audio streams, a 7.1 stream and several subtitle tracks, I just have stereo audio).
    So should I switch all my files to MPEG2? What are your favorite settings for a putting Canon DSLR h.264 footage on Blu-ray? Thanks!
    EDIT: I re-exported using MPEG2 and the file estimates were correct.

    Encore, and I suspect most authoring programs, allows a maximum of 40 Mbps COMBINED video and audio. so anything over 35Mbps video only risks problems.
    I don't know what all the specific differences are between Adobe Media Encoder/PR/EN's H.264 preset vs the H.264-Bluray, but bitrate going over 35 is one of them. And Encore clearly does not like that. Many encoders result in small (and for some larger) variations that result in spikes over the allowed level. Any of those issues can result in Encore "seeing" a file as not BD legal.
    I think all Ann was saying was the she agreed with your using the H.264-BD present with multiplexing off. And she suggested (I thing with the H.264-BD preset) selecting the max bit depth. I'm not sure if she actually meant max bit depth, or max render quality.

  • How to reduce PDF Form file size?

    Hello
    I have a PDF that is 22KB without form fields, but once I add the fields to the form, it increases the size to a huge 528KB.
    There are 5 or so text fields, one digital signature, and 14 different 'Radio Button" categories.
    Is there any way to still ensure the form works as I need it too (ie. I don't want to get rid of any fields, and I don't want to change radio buttons to check boxes or anything), but reducing the size of the file??
    Thank you

    Are you using any font's other than the standard ones (aka base-14)? The standard ones are Helvetica, Times, Courier (including four variants of each), Symbol, and Zapf Dingbats (Adobe Pi is the replacement).
    If that's not it, do a Save As, as opposed to just a Save. This will rid the document of unused objects that accumulate each time you save.

  • How to reduce the swf file size of an imported After Effects file

    Hi!
    I am trying to make a web banner for an internet marketing company, so it has very specific requirements. We had it made in After Effects, and I was able to export it as a FLV file and import to Flash just fine along with the SWF. Now, I need to make the SWF file significantly smaller.
    Right now it is 2.5 MB and we can only submit a 40K size SWF. Is it even possible to reduce the size so much and still keep the animation's intregrity?
    I am more familiar with Flash than After Effects, but can play around with settings, etc if someone can tell me what to try.
    Thank you for your help!

    the easiest way to load and play your flv is to use an flvplayback component.  you just drag it from the component panel to the stage and, in the properties panel, assign its properties (eg, skin and source).
    but that will probably put you just over your 40kb limit and will require the skin.swf to be placed on the server with your banner ad.
    to decrease your swf size to negligible, use actionscript to play your flv.  this is the barebones code needed.  just replace your_video_url.flv:
    var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
    nc.connect(null);
    ns:NetStream = new NetStreamnc);
    ns.play("your_video_url.flv");
    var video:Video = new Video();
    video.attachNetStream(ns);
    addChild(video);

  • How to create a smallest file size pdf from indesign CS4 document

    How to create a smallest file size pdf (suitable for upload to a website) from indesign CS4 document which contains multiple illustrator CS4 illustrations.
    I have chosen the "smallest file size option" but the pdf file is over 30MB, can anyone help please.
    Thank you

    One trick is to
    Set the placed graphics to have a transparency of 99.9% (you can do this with Find/Change and select Objects)
    This is enough to force the graphics throught the Transparency Flattener
    Next set the Transparency Blend Space to RGB (Edit>Transparency Blend Space)
    Next set a custom Transparency Flattner Preset Edit>Transparency Flattner
    Next
    Use File>Export and choose
    Smallest file size
    PDF Compatibility Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3)
    In Advanced Section - go to transparency and selec the new Flattener Preset you created.
    *this will convert your vectors to raster, but it should reduce your file size

    Reducing PDF file size or Optimizing PDF is the feature that is supported only by Acrobat Pro (desktop app that is not free).
    Optimizing PDFs (Acrobat Pro)
    Free Adobe Reader products (Reader XI desktop, Reader for iOS, Reader for Android, Reader Touch for Windows 8, etc) do not offer the capability.

    How to reduce configuration cache file Quota size located in ( C:\Windows\ccmcache ) for all client from SCCM 2012 server
    Thanks in Advance
    NTRao

    Hi,
    There are numerous ways to change the cache size.
    You could deploy a vbscript to a collection of the devices.
    On Error Resume Next
    Dim UIResManager
    Dim Cache
    Dim CacheSize
    CacheSize=20000
    Set UIResManager = createobject("UIResource.UIResourceMgr")
    Set Cache=UIResManager.GetCacheInfo()
    Cache.TotalSize=CacheSize
    Or you could use a configuration item.

    You can also use the right click tools by Now Micro on a collection, if all the servers are on this would be the easiest / quickest way.

    http://www.david-obrien.net/2013/02/how-to-configure-the-configmgr-client/
    select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID, SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType, SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name, SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier, SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup, SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System where SMS_R_System.OperatingSystemNameandVersion like '%6.2%'

  • How do I reduce a Pages file size so I can create a pdf for e-mailing?

    I recently upgraded from Tiger to OS X Leopard. In Tiger, I was able to reduce file size and create a 700 to 800kb file by going to print/color sync/quartz filter/reduce file size/save as pdf. But in Leopard those options can't be accessed from my pages print menu. Any suggestions? Thanks TH

    Hi t.h.leeds,
    Welcome to Pages discussions.
    Another way to reduce the PDF files size is: Print > PDF, Compress PDF. As I create a PDF for e-mailing that's what I do, works well. 99.99% of folks don't print PDF's, they either file in a folder or delete. Viewing on their monitor that Compress PDF appears as it should.
    A side note; by using this discussions Search feature in the box that reads "Search Discussions more Options" you could have found the answer to your question. Doing that would be faster than awaiting for an enduser as yourself to respond.
    These Discussions are user helping user, not Apple employees answering the question. Questions will be answered when a user such as yourself finds time, desires to, knows the answer along with the time to respond.
    Again, welcome to Pages Discussions, have fun here.
    Sincerely,
    RicD

  • How do you minimize a file size in a PDF?

    Help!  I just need to minimize a file in a pdf- how?

    You mean reduce the PDF file size?  You need Acrobat for that; Adobe Reader cannot do anything like it.
    Also, how much you can reduce the file size much depends on its contents.  I have seen PDFs reduced down to 10%, others just by a few KB.
    P.S. why do you need to reduce the file size?

  • How do I redice the file size?

    Hi:
    I'm using Pages 1.0.2 for the first time. I created a nice 2-page file with the intention of emailing such a file on a monthly basis.
    Unfortunately, the finished file is HUGE (15MB), making it impossible to email.
    I tried Export > HTML format. Surprisingly, when I open the new Safari HTML page, alignment hasn't been preserved. Images are all over the place.
    Is Pages an applicable app with which I can email its finished files?
    If so, how can I shrink the file size substantially?
    If not, what optional apps are as stunning as Pages but aren't humungous?
    TIA,
    Warren
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Pages 1.0.2

    Warren,
    Pages isn't the application you want to use to create HTML, despite its marketing by Apple. You've already bumped into its limitation -- it often scrambles formatting.
    But you can easily save your document as a PDF file, and reduce its size at the same time. Click on File > Print, then in the Copies & Pages menu, select Colorsync. In the Quartz Filter menu, select Reduce File Size.
    Another thing to consider before you've even gotten this far: since you're emailing this file, it's not necessary to have high-resolution images. Oftentimes, that, more than anything else, will bloat a file. So you might want to use an image-editing app to decrease the resolution of your images.
