How to relocate the Minimize, Maximize and Close buttons on the window

I am a right-hand user, and would prefer if all my Minimize, Maximize and Close buttons on the window are relocated to the right hand side of the window. Anyone got any suggestion to do it ?

This is just something you end up getting used to, at least it was the case for me.
It is not possible to move this, without the help of third-party software.
ShapeShifter is offers customisation of the look of the Windows, but I don't know if it can move the buttons.

But I don't know if it is compatible with Leopard yet.

hello foodel, from another user we found out that this might be related to malware active on your pc. please close all firefox windows and try running firefox in safemode (by pressing the shift key while you're starting it). in firefox safemode go to firefox > addons > extensions and remove the entry named "Codec v1.0" or any other addons that look suspicious & you have not installed intentionally. afterwards see if you can run firefox normally again...
please also do an in-depth scan of your system with the security software already in place and/or a different tool like the free version of malwarebytes & keep firefox and your plugins up-to-date in order to stay safe on the web.

• The minimize, maximize and close buttons don't work, and I can't select any items in drop-down menus.

Running Firefox 23.01 on Windows, and two days ago I lost the ability to maximize, minimize or close windows via the buttons in the upper righthand corner. I also am unable to select a choice in dropdown menus, and for good measure I cannot x out of the About window that popped up went I wanted to check my version number!
I've looked in the support forum and seen that this is not an uncommon problem. However, I have tried every suggested solution I could find - reset Firefox several times, turned off hardware acceleration, opened in safe mode and finally uninstalled and reinstalled the program (deleting the old program folders before reinstalling as recommended - and nothing has worked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

• If I open Firefox all that comes up is a translucent page with only the minimize, maximize and close icons in the top right corner. How do I restore Firefox?

There is no address bar, no error message, or anything at all but the three icons in the upper right corner. The entire page is just a giant translucent square with the three icons.

hello MilaRowantree, can you try launching firefox in safe mode by pressing the shift key while it is starting and see if the issue is occurring there too? maybe a theme or hardware acceleration is interfering here...
if safemode is working, you can try disabling hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > general and or disable addons that might cause the problem. it also would be interesting which graphics hardware (adapter description, driver date & driver version) you are using - you can access this information in firefox > help > troubleshooting information towards the bottom of that page... thank you

• Minimize, maximize and close button when there is no border

Hi all. I have created a login page that has no border around it. Is it possible to get the minimize, maximize and close buttons in the top right hand corner but inside the actual form?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Welcome to MSDN forum.
I am afraid that the issue is out of support range of VS General Question forum which mainly discusses
the usage of Visual Studio IDE such as WPF & SL designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System
and Visual Studio Editor.
If you are working with ASP.NET Web Application, I suggest that you can consult your issue on ASP.NET forum:

• Every once in a while, a black box will cover the windows minimize, maximize, and close buttons, and then I can't minimize firefox quickly or easily.

After a bunch of browsing, a black window takes over the windows caption bar and covers the minimize, maximize, and close buttons. When this happens, I can't close firefox except by accessing the firefox menu. And there is no way to minimize or maximize the window.

Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there. <br />
A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons. <br />
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)
* You can open the Firefox 4.0+ SafeMode by holding the Shft key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* Or use the Help menu item, click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled... while Firefox is running. <br />
Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.
If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

• Is it possible to disable the minimize, maximize and close on a Frame?

Is it possible to disable the minimize, maximize and close buttons on a Frame?
Is it possible to make invisible, minimize, maximize and close buttons of the frame?
What methods would I use to do so?
Thank You

The minimize, maximize and close buttons are defined as the windows decoration. To disable the windows decoration, frame.setUndecorated(true); The setUndecorated() method can only be called while the frame is not displayable.
Then you can redesign the look and feel of the rootpane and call
frame.getRootPane().setWindowDecorationStyle(JRootPane.FRAME);

• Not able to get the minimize maximized and close button and its running with full screen mode.

I'm also running Ubuntu. Not sure how you got there, but you can try a Control-Q to quit. Then restart it and hope in comes back normal.

• My Minimize, Maximize, and Close Buttons are not functional in Firefox 13.0.1

I recently downloaded Firefox 13.0.1.. For the past several days the minimize, maximize, and exit buttons located in the top right hand corner have been non functional almost immediately upon starting a browser session. I have tried disabling plugins with no success. I have experienced the same problem when running safe mode. I have attempted to disable hardware accelerators. I have even tried resetting to default settings.. For the record
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) with 2 GB of RAM as well as Norton Antivirus.. Any advice would be appreciated.

Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

• Why did the browser window's title bar, menu, minimize, maximize, and close buttons all disappear, and how do I get them back?

I am literally stuck in Firefox. Suddenly the window changed to full screen mode, and the title bar and Firefox menu disappeared, along with the close, minimize, and maximize buttons. All I can access are the menu bar and open browser tabs.
I can't even access my dock (on Mac), which usually pops up when I mouse over the bottom of the screen.
So, the only way it seems I can get out of Firefox is to shut down my computer by pressing the power button. Unless there is some keyboard shortcut. I tried command-11 but that just switched between open my browser tabs.
FYI i have no idea what Ubuntu is and don't think I'm using it (that name seems to pop up when I google this problem)
Oh yeah, also I'm using Firefox 3.6.2 because my elderly Mac is running on OSX 10.4.11. Have never had any problems with it before.

IN your iTunes library, does the movie appear with a cloud on it for downloading?
is the movie still in the iTunes Store?
iTunes purchases the rights to sell a movie, but those are for a time limit.  If the right expires and apple doesn't renew, the movie is no longer available for download and must be saved in your library.   I suggest backing up your movies ASAP.  Check the store for this movie, perhaps it is still available.

• Minimize, Maximize, and close buttons are missing and nothing fixes the problem. What can I do next to fix this problem?

I use windows 7. These buttons work but invisible. I saw someone on this forum that had the same problem but he uses xp so I think his solution will not work for me. Please, someone help me.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Command+Shift+F).
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top of the screen to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.<br>Click the Maximize button (top right corner of the Navigation Toolbar) to leave full screen mode or right-click empty space on a toolbar and choose "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press the F11 key.
Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can also try a different Windows theme.

• Minimize, Maximize and Close buttons are invisible

I have rather werid problem with Firefox since yesterday. Mainly the three buttons at the top corner are invisible. I can still click on them but I cannot see them, as if they are obscured by upper tab.
I tried to launch Firefox in safe mode and I use standart theme. If I restart the computer it is fine, but once I close firefox and then open it again( or even if I just open new window) problem returns.

If you use a non standard windows theme or made other appearance changes then try to revert those changes and use a (different) standard theme or Windows wallpaper.
* Control Panel > Personalization > Theme & Window Color and Appearance
Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

• Minimize, maximize, and close buttons in title bar...

i have a mac, the tiger model, and my three buttons are grey. for safari and all other windows. usually they are red, green, and yellow, but mine are just grey. how, if i can, do i change these to the red, yellow, and green color? preferably without downloading any kind of application or program.

The gadgets are gray if the window is not active. If you activate the window then their colors should return.

• What happened to Firefox? When I upgraded I got another line at the top with a red Firefox icon and pull down tab at one end and the three minimize, maximize and delete buttons on the right side.

The homepage would not load. The back arrow doesn't work. There is no bookmark page. To get it to all work i have to click on the house looking icom to get the homepage to load, right clik again to access the toolbars and left click on the bookmarks oolbars to remove it, the right again and left click again to have it appear. The passwords formerly on webpages do not appear and have to be entered manually. All in all I would rather have IE if i can't get my old Firefox back! editbold text

• Even in Safe Mode, minimize, restore, and close buttons are missing, though the functions remain, and a dialog box now comes up when opening FF.

Ever since I installed the latest Firefox update, the minimize, restore, and close buttons are visually missing, though their functions are still present.
I have also started to have one of those dialog boxes asking whether or not I would like to allow a program to make changes to my PC come up when I open Firefox.

Check that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
* Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
* "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
If you can't make the changes then you need to start Windows Explorer as Administrator.
