How to replace a character at a random position of a column in SQL Server 2000?

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to export the data of a table into a flat file. However, when I try to export it, a column which has a specific character (".") is being loaded as a new column into the file rather than the same column.
Here is the DDL/DML:
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[EXT_Name](
[A_Name] [VARCHAR](4),
[U_Name] [VARCHAR](256),
[U_Desc] [VARCHAR](256),
[Acc_Desc] [VARCHAR](256),
[S_Type] [VARCHAR](50))
Its just that's it. No more Keys and Indexes on this table.
Here is the bcp command I'm running:
EXEC [master].[dbo].[xp_cmdshell] 'bcp "SELECT * FROM [dbo].[Ext_Name]" queryout C:\Data\Ext_Name.dat -c -t, -T -S'
Data:
GEHG,/User/Personal/Project/Click.do,Search for User Project.,See Summary,Summaries
GEHG,/User/Personal/Project/Click.do,Search for User Project.Detail,null,Summaries
Instead for the data to be loaded as the above, its loading into the file as
GEHG,/User/Personal/Project/Click.do,Search for User Project.,See Summary,Summaries
GEHG,/User/Personal/Project/Click.do,Search for User Project.Detail
,null,Summaries
This issue occurs only when [Acc_Desc] column has the "." character in between the string. Could experts in this forum help me please?

That is most likely not your problem. Your problem is most likely the source data has a CR and/or LF after it in the database.
Run this to remove them from Acc_Desc:
UPDATE [dbo].[EXT_Name]
SET [Acc_Desc] = REPLACE(REPLACE([Acc_Desc],CHAR(13),''),CHAR(10),'')

    Unfortunately, it is not possible in Xir2 to create Webi reports from stored procedures.
    Webi reports can only be created from Universe. So in Business Objects XIR3 we can create a special universe that enables Web Intelligence user's to access stored procedures residing in the database. This is the only way that Web Intelligence user's can access stored procedures.

    I was having the same problem with the AIRSQL i couldn't find how to rencode my csv file...
    So i resave the csv in xls and then chose the utf-8 thingy and then just changed the extension back to csv.
    i was always wondering why i had an xls file in my source code, which was just left there from the previous reencoding, i guess

    How do I capture the SQL Server 200 user defined function that returns table? Is this supported in the current version of Oracle Migration Workbench? I am using the latest version - Release 9.2.0.1.0 with SQL SERVER 2000 plug-in.
    I was able to capture the SQL Server 2000 user defined function that returns string and smalldatetime but not the functions return table during the migrate data source stage.

    This is not currently supported. The next release of the Oracle Migration Workbench (due very soon), will do a better job of catching this mad reporting an error. We are looking into a suitable mapping and have created bug # 2355073 - TABLE DEFINITIONS NOT ACCEPTED FOR TABLE FUNCTIONS to track this issue.
    Once possible solution we are looking into is using the object type to emulate. Here is an example from the bug:

    just create an ODBC of your database from control pannel -> administrative tools -> data sources (ODBC) ,double click it .....
    go to the tab SYstem DSN , click on ADD button. select the driver for your connection. it will be the last one in the list "SQL Server".
    click Next then give ur DSN name there, description and Server Name , on next give your username and password of SQL server. when it will be connected to the server celect your database from there and hence there will be an ODBC bridge same as in case of MS Access.

    You can modify the decimal column(s) in the table to varchar type before export. But it does not look good.
    alter table [dbo].[Product_Sales]
    Alter column [Product_Amount] varchar(20)
    alter table [dbo].[Product_Sales]
    Alter column [Category_Amount] varchar(20)
    Does that make any sense?

    Basically you modify the decimal column to a varchar type before you run the bcp command for export. You can modify your source table or you can modify them on the fly. It is just a workaround.
    Modifying the source wouldn't be a good idea. Never do that if you can't get your desired output.

    I have a JTable, and one of it's columns has to show a date. This date i have to show is specified as datetime on the Sql Server 2000 database where I have to take the data.
    the query of the dataset attached to the JTable is something like "select * from Table".
    The problem is that the JTable column that displays the date shows the date and the hour, for example:
    7/10/04 0:00:00
    and I need to show the date without the hour, only the 7/10/04. Can anyone tell me how to do that?

    The easiest way to format a date is with java.text.SimpleDateFormat. When creating it you pass a format string which can be used to parse or format date objects.
    SimpleDateFormat formater = new SimpleDateFormat( "MM/dd/yyyy" );

    String formatedDate = formater.format( foundDate );Now the JTable's table model can be adjusted to store a formated String instead of a Date. If for some reason it is required to store the value as a Date overload the table model to return the formated string when getValueAt is called.
