How to report a malicious site to Firefox so that it is registered as such?

On the Security tab of the Options dialog box, you can select to have Firefox block any reported attack sites. I have a software program that keeps alerting me that perhaps an advertiser is sending malicious software my way, and I was hoping to report this to Firefox, but I don't know where to go to report the site. I didn't see anything that addressed this, so can someone fill me in? Thanks!

In the Help menu select "Report Web Forgery"

  • How can I set a password for firefox so that everyone have to enter the password before executing firefox

    My younger sister executed my firefox just at this afternoon(she originally use IE), and she saw something that can't be seen. How can I set a password for firefox so that everyone have to enter the password before executing firefox?

    Also see this for an English version of Profile Password:
    *Profile Password: http://nic-nac-project.de/~kaosmos/profilepassword-en.html#PPF
    It is an extension to protect the profile with a password, but being an extension that protection can easily be bypassed by starting Firefox in [[Safe mode]].<br />
    So do not rely on it.<br />
    If you want to protect content then you have to use methods supported by the OS like a separate user account with a password or an encrypted file system.

  • I keep being told by various sites, including Firefox itself, that I have an old version of Firefox, while I actually have 5.0 version. How is that possible?

    A number of sites keep on telling me that I have an old version of the browser and insist that I should upgrade it, despite the fact that I have Firefox 5.0. Now I've tried to add one of firefox apps and firefox site itself told me that I need to upgrade my browser because according to them I have 2.0!! I checked and doublechecked info in "about firefox" and it tells me I'm using version 5.0.

    Your UserAgent string in Firefox is messed up by another program that you installed. <br />
    [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Agent]
    type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter <br />
    ''If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.'' <br />
    Filter = '''general.useragent.''' <br />
    Right-click the preferences that are '''bold''', one line at a time, and select '''''Reset'''''. <br />
    Then restart Firefox

  • How do I get the 'Welcome to Firefox' page that shows up after an update to quit showing up? It's been coming up when ever I start up Firefox for days.

    The ‘Welcome to Firefox’ page that shows up after an update is installed has been coming up when ever I start up Firefox since I did the last update to 18.0.1, several days ago. How do I get it to stop?

    The problem turned out to be an error on the prefs.js file where one or two of the parameters with the current version number were not properly updated, so the browser always thought I was opening it for the first time on a new version. I edited the version number in those parameters to agree with the version number in the Help/About dropdown and the problem went away. It has been a while now and I do not recall which were the faulty parameters, but here are the ones in my current prefs.js file that refer to the browser version (currently 21.0 for me):
    user_pref("browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone", "21.0");
    user_pref("extensions.enabledAddons", "%7Bd40f5e7b-d2cf-4856-b441-cc613eeffbe3%7D:1.68,%7B02450914-cdd9-410f-b1da-db004e18c671%7D:0.97.12c,%7BBBDA0591-3099-440a-AA10-41764D9DB4DB%7D:11.3.0.9%20-%205,%7B2D3F3651-74B9-4795-BDEC-6DA2F431CB62%7D:2013.4.1.2,%7B972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd%7D:21.0");
    user_pref("extensions.lastAppVersion", "21.0");
    user_pref("extensions.lastPlatformVersion", "21.0");
    user_pref("gecko.mstone", "21.0");
    I have not encountered the same problem with recent version upgrades. Good luck!!

  • How can I delete Top Sites from Firefox 18.0 that I am running on my Kindle Fire HD?

    I have tried the solutions already offered but without success. I have the list of Top Sites in front of me but when I long tap one, I get "Firefox: About your browser." The choices offered are Open in New Tab, Share, and Add to Home Screen.
    Help, please.

    Hi llevitan,
    You may need to check for updates. The latest Firefox version is 24.0. On the Top Sites screen tap the address bar at the top of screen (screenshot 1), this will open "about:home" which shows the tabs Top Sites, Bookmarks and History (screenshot 2). Tap and hold a page you want to remove and a dialogue box "Customize controls, options and add-ons" will open (screenshot 3). Select Remove and your page will be removed from the Top Sites list.

  • MSN keeps coming up as my homepage. I do NOT want it as my home page. How do I block a site in Firefox?

    I was perfectly happy with my Comcast home page. Recently, MSN has been loading as my home page. I have changed my home page 6 times in the Firefox Options menu, however, it does not stay. MSN keeps coming up. I want to block MSN.

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • How do you change the settings on Firefox so that the email does not delete on closing ? I have searched and apparently I am not looking in the correct place. Thanks.

    I installed MS Office 2007 so I could take some classes in Access and Outlook for a job. Outlook would not work correctly until I figured out what password it was asking for. Since I did that 2 days ago, the email in my inbox in Firefox/Yahoo deletes the email when I close it or when it sits unused for several hours. It appears the email is going to Outlook as well but they are not being deleted on close.

    Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
    If you are using Firefox to access your email, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

  • How to report a bug in Nokia Belle so that next up...

    Hello,
    I was wondering, where and how would I report a bug that I have repeatedly seen on my 808 Pureview? It is said that Accenture handles the support for Symbian now, but how do I actually get to a place where they receive bug reports for Symbian?
    The bug is purely linked to the OS, it is when I type text messages sometimes one key would just get stuck,and the system would freeze, for like 15 seconds, and then the phone would have no other choice but to reboot. This happens from time to time. And when you wrote a very long message before this bug happens, that makes you pretty angry usually.
    I have a Nokia 808 Pureview running the last version of Nokia Belle FP2. Everything is technically "up to date"...so I just want to report this bug so that future updates do correct that, if possible!
    Thanks!

    Although there is little chance of any updates, support and bug fixes should continue for a while yet. This is a user to user forum, you can contact Nokia here http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/contact/ and if it is possible to initiate a bug fix for your phone this is the best route  to follow.
    Good luck

  • Is it possible that auto complete and auto fill are no longer functioning? If so, how can I revert to my previous Firefox version that did offer these invaluable tools?

    Believe my question says it all.

    What leads you to believe that autocomplete is no longer working? What do you see, what did you expect to see. Try to avoid creating guessing games.
    Do you have history going back for a long time, and from recent previous sessions. Check History ("Ctrl+Shift+H").
    The Awesomebar is dependent of having history and bookmarks to work with
    http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/4928/clearcachew.png
    Everything encircled in blue would prevent the AwesomeBar (Location bar autocomplete) from working. Also make sure you are not clearing your "Form & Search History" for your second problem.
    Make sure you are not in Private Browsing.
    You can make Firefox 4.0.1 look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)]

  • Does anyone know how to save an iweb site to dvd so that a Windows user...

    can put it in their computer and view it? This would be a hard copy of the site with all files. Have created a very media rich iweb site and am hoping to enable several people to view the site without accessing the internet.
    Thanks in advance for your suggestions. You all are always so helpful.
    Best,
    Kim

    Publish your Site to a folder and burn it to disk.
    The disk doesn't know it's a website.
    Your webpages have to be viewed in a Browser.
    And as long they do not contain outside links, there's no need for an Internet connection.
    Practice with a RW disk. Then you can erase the disk and start over.
    All kind of tricks such as autostart can be found on the internet.
    PS. Scan for virusses too, otherwise Windows and/or its users get hysterical.

    How do you block a website using Firefox 5.0

  • How do I configure Firefox so that the down arrowhead in the location field actually causes the display of a drop down list of bookmarked websites?

    At one time I had done the "right" actions so that the location drop down contained a list of around 20 of my most frequently accessed websites. Now I have a new computer and cannot figure out how to configure this new installation of Firefox so that this feature works as it did before. Frustrating!!!! When I click the down arrowhead (icon just left of reload page icon), no drop down menu appears; only the URL of the current page is highlighted.

    See:
    * Firefox (Tools) > Options > Privacy > Location Bar: When using the location bar, suggest: Bookmarks
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Location+bar+autocomplete
    *Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.
    *Use "Firefox > Options" instead of "Tools > Options" if the menu bar is hidden.

  • How to Report a Broken Web Site?

    How do I report a broken web site? If I click on 'Help', I do not see 'Report Broken Web Site.' I am using Mozilla Firefox 4.0b8 on Windows XP SP3.

    This particular problem has been reported at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=622472 I have just voted for that bug.
    Since my last report one month ago above, I have found the "Report Broken Website" appears under the Help menu item, is clickable when a webpage is displayed, but just endlessly displays a "Sending Report to server" dialog. It has never worked for me since several weeks ago. The moving blue bar under "Sending Report" just keeps moving but nothing happens.
    Mozilla Firefox 3.6.13 , the latest version according to Check Updates. Windows Vista Home Premium.

    Expected behaviour: I guess the Report menu item should be grayed out or invisible until the reporting mechanism works.
