To open "Adobe Photoshop CS4" you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime.

I have updated my system to Yosemite and when I try to open Adobe CS$ i get this message. To open “Adobe Photoshop CS4” you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime. I have followed the links and installed Java for OS X 2014-001 includes installation improvements, and supersedes all previous versions of Java for OS X. This package installs the same version of Java 6 included in Java for OS X 2013-005.
When I again try to open CS4 I get the same message To open “Adobe Photoshop CS4” you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime.
Can anyone assist please?

you may need to uninstall CS then reboot, try to see if it allows you to update your JAVA

I ran into something similar with CS6 where it needed to come off and go back on
technically CS4 is not supported by Adobe and reported to be problematic with Yosemite.

How to install TWAIN plug-in for Adobe Photoshop CS5

Adobe Photoshop CS4 listed my Epson Perfection V500 scanner as a selection under “File-Import”. When I installed Adobe Photoshop CS5, I noticed that scanner selection is not there. I contacted Epson technical support and they said Adobe Photoshop CS5 does not automatically install the TWAIN plug-in that it needs to recognize the scanner and that I need to contact Adobe technical support to find out how to add it.
How do I install the TWAIN plug-in for Adobe Photoshop CS5 so it will recognize my Epson Perfection V500 scanner as a selection under “File-Import”?

I downloaded the "Photoshop CS5 Optional Plugins" file (PSCS5OptionalPlugins_Win_en_US.zip). I unzipped it and read the "ReadMeCS5_OptionalPlugin.pdf" file. In that file, the only section that discusses TWAIN is entitled "TWAIN (Mac only)". There is no section for how to install TWAIN for Windows.

On a side note: Before I posted the question to the form, I changed my Adobe account email from [email protected] to [email protected] I then logged in as [email protected] and posted the question. The notification email for your posting a response to my questions was sent to my old email address (not tye new one). My Abobe account and my forum profile both show my new email address. Where is the settings that controls the email notification for the posting responses?

I am following the same instructions, and the downloads work for me. However, the first file downloaded is a "_LS1" file, and has no extension. The second file is a .7z archive. The instructions for how to install this download in the "exact instructions" phase says to "run the .EXE file" but there is none.
Also, when I rename the _LS1 file to add the .exe extension, it can be run, and extracts an installer to the desktop. Unfortunately, when I run the setup.exe in this installer, it "gets an error and must quit" and asks that I contact Adobe support. Adobe support sends me here. I paid for this software through so many upgrades, and when time came to upgrade to CS6, they suddenly didn't want my money, so I'm stuck on CS4, which now doesn't work, and Adobe won't talk to me?

They say you should get a email with the serial number and download instructions after purchase.
Your email should specify Mac and the download would be a .dmg file.
We are basically a user group and have no connection with this company, you have to contact them.

Error in VBA reference for Adobe Photoshop CS4 Object Library

I'm using Windows 7 Pro, MS Office 2010 Pro and Creative Suite CS4 (with all updates).
I will automate Photoshop via Visual Basic for Applications in MS Access.
Befor using there the Adobe Photoshop CS4 Object Library I must reference it in VBA.
But when I will du this, I get the message "Error loading DLL".
When I will manually reference to the WIASupport.8LI File, I get the error: "Cannot reference this file"
Can you give a tip, how I can solve this problem?

I have the same problem! I have photoshop cc2014 (which we own) and the object library shows, but not for cs 5.1 (30 day trial).
Does registering unlock something?

How do I find the serial number for Adobe Photoshop Elements 6?

In January of 2012 I purchased an Epson Perfection V500 Photo Scanner. Adobe PhotoShop Elements 6 came with it. Last week I bought a new computer. I installed PhotoShop Elements 6 on the new computer. Now PhotoShop Elements 6 asks me for a 24-digit serial number. I cannot find it on the Adobe PhotoShop Elements 6 disk that came with the scanner. I cannot find it in any of the documention I received from Epson with the scanner. Where can I find the 24-digit serial number for PhotoShop Elements 6 so I can transfer PhotoShop Elements 6 from my old computer to the new one?

Unfortunately, if you've never installed it, adobe has no record of your serial number. Serial numbers for bundled products are sold in great batches, and the buyer (Epson, in your case) has responsibility for them. You would need to get in touch with Epson.
If you have installed and registered PSE 6, go to adobe.com and look on the right side of the page for My Adobe. By working through the links there you should be able to find the record of the serial number you registered.

I have a 2008 Macbook Leopard version of the Mac OSX 10.5.8. My DVD optical drive does not open, and I need to reset the admin password because we have forgotten what it is. Wondering if it is possible doing it at home some step by step process I am fine with deleting all the contents saved on the macbook as well.

Not without the optical drive. You would need to insert the install disc to reset the admin password.

Hi,
Is there a way to reset the FCP software? My camcorder no longer lets me print to tape.
I have tried every setting I can think of or have read about on the manual.
When I print to tape, it records BLACK. That's it. The tape runs and the FCP looks like it's outputting.
I have tried two brands of camcorders (MiniDV firewire) and it's the same result.
Even rebooting and shutting everything down didn't help.
I also tried outputting from all kinds of different sequences.

Trash the preferences. Download FCP Rescue and hit TRASH. Then restart FCP.

I am planning to buy Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended but I have tried to understand if my computer 's system is enough for the software. Please help me, the Adobe requirements I am unsure of are in bold and my system is in italics (My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5715Z):

That's from the Acer website.
It IS a pentium processor, but I see nothing to indicate if it's 64bit. I'm guessing it's 32. CS5 works best in a 64 bit environment, that's my personal opinion. I've used it in both and 64 outperforms 32.
2Gb of Ram will cause some performance issues too. If your aspire can be bumped up to 4Gb do that first.
80Gb of HD with Vista and I don;t kow how much other software and files you have, but it isn't a lot these days. I had a Toshiba with an 80Gb drive and I lasted about three months before I HAD to put a 250Gb in it. Once I had Vista Ultimate, CS4 Master Collection, Office 2007, Roxio Creator 10 and about 4 Gb of websites. I had to connect an external drive for my Photoshop files because I had about 6Gb left on the drive.
It will run (in 32bit mode) but with the "factory" specs, it will run slower and you may experience issues with it freezing up on large files (2Gb or bigger).

How to remove the big delays on adobe photoshop cc

I recently moove my photoshop cs6 to cc and I suffered from big delays.
Often struggles and my photoshop manipulations are not taken into account while it struggles. This is very problematic. For example, I often select multiple layers using a Shift + click and then move those layers. When photoshop struggles during the layer selection, the selection is not taken into account and I find myself moving a single layer. How to resolve this slowness? I currently reflected on going back to photoshop cs6.
