How to restore a Mac Book Air to factory

How to restore a Mac Book Air to factory

Press Command, Option and R keys on boot, open Disk Utility, erase the disk and reinstall OS X. If the computer came with discs, use the USB SuperDrive or Remote Disc > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5287

how can i buy mac book air with Arabic keyboard

Nobody here represents Apple or any store.  To find out whether you can buy something, you need to contact a store directly yourself.  Since you didn't say where you live, it's hard to even suggest a store.  Of course you can buy what you want from stores that sell to Arabic speaking countries, like

If you are in the US, you can try asking an Apple retail store if they can make a special order for one for you.

  • How to install windows mac book air

    Hi,
I'm trying to install windows onto my mac book air and bootcamp says I need an external optical drive. What is this and how do I get it?
    Thanks,

    Hello Niel,
Is there no way I can do this without buying yet another thing?? I need to get some software (MaxQDA) which was supposed to be coming out on Mac but seems to have been delayed until later in the year. This means I now need to purchase windows, purchase the software (rather than getting it free from the university) and by the sound of it I now need to buy a drive just to download it...It's very frustrating.
    Thanks for your help anyway.

Only the OSX will do that when necessary.  There is no user intervention available.
    Ciao.

  • How do I connect Mac Book Air with HD TV No Apple Tv available

I am looking for a cable or connection from Mac Book Air to an HD TV. I ant to have the movies on the TV screen. But I don't want to buy an Apple TV.

    Hey vickitaunus,
Thanks for the question. Your MacBook Air has a Thunderbolt port that can be used to connect Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cables. We have a few offerings in our store:
Cables - Mac Accessories - Apple Store (U.S.)
    http://store.apple.com/us/mac/mac-accessories/cables
You can also use our handy Cable Chooser tool in our Online Store:

  • How to restore new mac book from time machine

i curentley have a mac book and am planing on upgrading to a pro but i have to sell this one first. can i restore my new mac pro using the time machine backup from this mac book or is there another way i have to do this being as i wont have both laptops at the same time??
    thanks for any help..

If you can recover the old machine (may not be worth the cost), then you could deactivate directly. A lot depends on what crashed, the HD, mother board, or other. On a PC, the hard drive can sometimes be recovered with SpinRite as long as the crash was not fatal. There are other tricks too, but all of them depend on the crash conditions and what the problem is. If the hard drive is actually good, maybe you could just put it in another machine and run the deactivation. Of course, not everyone has a bunch of machines on hand to play with. For PCs, I often head to the department surplus pile and see if I can find something to work with (not my stock). If I find a working machine there, then I just swap it out. Of course, that is for work machines. For a home machine, I might do it for testing or repair and then put things back after the repair.

Backup any data you deem important. Insert the installer DVD that came with your MacBook. Restart the laptop and hold down the 'C' key. Progress past the language selection screen until you get to the second screen. Select Disk Utility from the Utilities Menu. Click on the topmost icon in the left hand side bar, click on the Partition tab. Select 1 Partition and select Mac OS Extended (Journaled) for the format. Now click Apply. This will erase everything on that drive. When it's done quit out of Disk Utility which should take you back to the Installer Assistant. Follow the on-screen prompts to re-install the Operating System.

  • How do erase my mac book air

How do I erase my air. My storage is all other. I deleted my pics music documents and ect

Install or Reinstall Mavericks or Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
OS X Mavericks- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Erase and reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Restore the mac book air to new OS

Hi, how can I formate and restore the macbook air to new lion OS

    Hello,
I suppose you already bought your Lion update from the Apple App store and don't just want to "upgrade" your system but want a clean format.
Fortunately, there is a very nice App to do everything you require. It will scan your hard drive for the Lion or Mountain Lion Install and then create a .dmg file and write it into a USB or External drive (you will need one with at least 8gb). You will find this here: http://blog.gete.net/lion-diskmaker-us/
You can then do a clean install by rebooting the computer with the Option key pressed you will then see two big icons, one for your hard drive and another for the USB/External drive. Click the second one and you will get into the install process. You can at this point, before doing the install, reformat your SSD using the Disk Utility Application.
    Hope this helps,
    Yona

  • My mac book air fan is staying on, how can I get it back to normal?

I cna hear the processor or fan in my Mac Book Air, and it won't stop. Has anyone had a similar problem? Does anyone have any ideas about how I might resolve this issue? Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
First, reset the SMC. It will restore the fan speed, so if it was changed, it will be restored to normal settings and the fan will work correctly
