How to restore Firefox custom search bar

I'm using Firefox 37.0.1 and for some reason my custom search bar is gone. It was there last time I was online and I don't think I did anything to remove it. I used to be able to change the search engine over to Youtube, Wikipedia, Amazon and what have you but now it only searches Google. I checked this page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-search-bar-firefox-and-manage-search-engines#w_hide-search-engines
but it didn't help. Does anyone know how to get it back? I think I need to do something with the about:config page but I don't want to mess with that without asking someone who knows what they're doing first (read: not me XD). I've added a screenshot of what my search bar looks like now.

Try the following and see if it works:
Click on the menu icon (three bars) in the top-right corner, and choose "customize". You should see the search bar somewhere in the window, and can drag it back to next to what is shown in the picture. How can I remove google custom search bar from about:newtab page

When I open Firefox or a new tab I have it set to about:newtab which is great and all. Just recently I noticed a Google search bar on the new tab page though, that it immediately sets my cursor to. I prefer typing in the normal address bar at top. If I don't think to take that extra tedious step to click on the address bar before typing it opens to Google Custom Search Engine. Which does not have the images, maps, etc tabs along top. Making a simple task of researching something or other purpose just that much more annoying to do, because I'll have to type into the address bar anyways.
So I was hoping there is a way to remove this annoying Google Custom Search Bar from my about:newtab?
Or at the least make my cursor start in the address bar, not the Google Custom Search Bar.

Using the newest update of Firefox has given me a new searchbar, one where I can't switch search engines quickly, instead having to go into a menu to do so. How do I remove the search bar that continues to reappear no matter how many times I manually remove it?

For a short while now the search bar has been appearing on my Firefox browser. I don't want it there and removing it using the 'custom' settings when I click in a blank area in my browser does not work, it keeps coming back along with the 'bookmarks' button.
No, there is nothing in my Add/Remove programs that resembles the search bar in any way, shape or form. I've already checked again and again, it's simply not there and not an option.

Now when I edit the bar and position of the buttons some of those buttons disappear when I click Ok in the customization, but reappear when I reopen the customization settings.
Why is that? When I put a space in between some of the buttons the buttons near the space will disappear and leave a blank space where it should be.
I'm beginning to be rather annoyed with this Firefox Beta to say the least and am considering returning to the version before it. Whatever I do now as far as customizing is concerned of the toolbar is reset every time I reopen Firefox. The buttons are no longer where I had set them up, the address bar is stretched to it's maximum, the Menu Bar is back the far left edge, buttons are missing that I had put there, and buttons I had removed are returned.
:| I know it may seem insignificant to some people but it annoys the crap out of me. I understand this is a beta and if there is no solution then I perhaps will use the earlier version for a while.

Hey there, I think you've disabled your Navigation Bar by accident.
View -> Toolbars -> Navigation Toolbar
If you have your navigation bar, but the search bar is gone, try this:
View -> Toolbars -> Customize.. -> Restore Default Set.

In Firefox 3.6 on Windows you can hide the menu bar via "View > Toolbars" or via the right click context menu on a toolbar.
Press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the menu bar.
Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the menu bar or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide.

How can I adjust the search bar to search within a specific website?

I used to use Chrome (still miss it a little bit), but Firefox has continually grown on me.
One feature I do miss from Chrome being able to search within a specific website from the search bar. For example, I was able to type in amazon.com, then pressing tab, and type in a specific search term, such as "The Terminator." When I pressed enter after typing "The Terminator," Chrome would automatically take me to Amazon's search results for "The Terminator."
And it wouldn't just be Amazon either; pretty much any site that had a searchable database, Chrome would be capable of utilizing this feature. Is there any way to replicate that in Firefox?

Firefox 4 search bar and "Tips" bar are blank windows that do not work. Removed F4 and downloaded again three times but no joy. Gone back to F 3.6.17.

On Firefox 4 home page the "Tips" bar and search bar above it

On my Laptop (XP home edition) Firefox 4 works fine and I have not found any faults so far.
