Hi Anna...
Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Congrats on your new MacBook Pro!
From your Safari menu bar click History > Reopen All Windows from Last Session
You can set up Safari to open windows from the last session in Safari > Preferences > General
You can use the Command ,  (comma) keyboard shortcut to open Safari > Preferences for you.

The only way is to restore from a useful backup, if you have one.
If you sync the iPad to iTunes and use Time Machine regularly, you would likely have the appropriate backup to restore from. In that case:
Restore the iPad backup set from Time Machine from a date before you overwrote the bookmarks. The location of the backup is ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ (you can get to it by pressing Cmd+Shift+G in the Finder and entering this path).
Connect the iPad, run iTunes and restore from the backup.
If you use iCloud Backup, then you can restore from iCloud and choose which date's backup you'd like to restore from. You can check if you're using iCloud Backup by opening the Settings app on the iPad, then going to the iCloud submenu and looking at the status right below "Storage & Backup", where it would say "iCloud Backup is off." (or "iCloud Backup is on.", as the case may be).
In any case, keep in mind that restoring from a backup means you lose all application data changes after the date of the backup.

    Download safari:

    OR..
Try using Pacifist to extract it from the MacBook's original disks, and then run the combo updater for your version of Mac OS X.

  • How to restore safari settings?

how to restore safari settings & how to change the language in safari?

You would need to change the language globally, meaning on all your apps in order to change Safari.
Open Sytem Preferences > Language & Text then select the Language tab.  (It may say System Preferences > International) instead of Language & Text.
Drag the language you want to use to the top of the list.

  • How do I get Safari 7 to open with my tabs restored from my previous session?

I have a new MacBook Air running Mavericks.  How do I get Safari to open with my previous tabs restored.  I used to be able to find an option in Preferences that said when you open a new window open with the tabs from my previous session.  That is no longer available to me.

I don't have that option in my general preferences. Even though I have Safari set to open with all windows from last session, it doesn't. I also think its very slow

  • Safari App deleted. How to restore Safari on iPhone without restoring to backup?

  • How to Restore to a Previous iTunes Version?

10.6 has a bug that causes it to send all the TV Show Seasons to the AppleTV in Reverse Added to Library Date Order.
Makes finding the right Show/Season very difficult with over 880 TVShow Seasons in the Library.
Need to restore iTunes to previous version - anyone got any idea on how to do that?
    Thanks

    Fixed it!!!!!!
    Found it on MacRumors site.
    So :-
I moved the Music Folder from my user Folder to a backup folder
Copied iTunes form /Applications to a backup folder
    Then opened Terminal
    cd /applications
    sudo rm - rf iTunes.app
Then went into Time Machine back to 6 March 2012 (day before 10.6) and restored the Music Folder from my users folder and put it back into my users folder.
    Then restored iTunes 10.5.3 (3)
Ran it all up and VIOLA
Can now find the TV Show I am looking for, in glorious Alphabetical order.
So much easier than the random order 10.6 put it into.
Next time I'll wait and see what problems come up before upgrading again.

  • How to restore safari bookmarks in yosemite??

This question is answered somewhere... but I cannot seem to find the answer and I've seemingly read just about every article on the topic...
I updated my MacBook Pro to Yosemite last night which wiped out all of my Safari bookmarks (which I use daily) and restored bookmarks from 2 years ago. I tried to pull the bookmarks from my iPhone 6 (which were synced to the current and most up to date bookmarks) but somehow wiped those out and synced them with what is now on my MacBook (now not my iPhone and MacBook have the outdated bookmarks from 2 years ago).
I have tried "iPhone Backup Extractor" and "JuicePhone" to pull the bookmarks from previous backups and that did not work. I've even tried going through iCloud, which I rarely use, and ran into some dead ends there.
Please help, I am at my wit's end. Any help would be immensely appreciated!!

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library/Safari/bookmarks.plist. Restore that from your backup.

  • How to restore Safari favicons?

  • How to restore safari

My computer froze and it was necessary to use the 'apple c' while starting up with the osx install discs. Once everything was restored (the computer only used 2/5 install discs), my safari will not respond. I am unsure what to do.

    Brillianrt! Worked like a charm.
Then I found an easy solution to alphabetizing that doesn't require 3rd party software in a Macworld article:
"Without resorting to external tools or dragging links about, it’s actually fairly simple to order the list. Make sure you can see a Finder window, or your Desktop, and the Safari Bookmarks window at the same time. Now just drag the folder (or folders) you want sorted from the Safari window to your Desktop—you’ll see the folder appear when you release the mouse. Switch to the Finder, and open each folder. Set the view to List view, and then close the window (not strictly necessary, but I’m a neat freak).
Now drag the folder back into Safari’s Bookmarks window; Safari will treat it like a newly-imported folder of bookmarks and add it to the list. Open the folder in the Bookmarks window, and you’ll see your neatly-sorted bookmarks."

  • How to restore safari bookmarks

My iPad mini keeps losing my bookmarks and history in Safari. Someone told me how to reset it, which worked, but I can't remember how iot was done, nor can I find the information again. Why aren't vital skills like this included in the user guide? Where can one find all these secret tricks?

Someimtes closing Safari completely and rebooting the iPad works for this.
To close Safari - Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the Safari icon. Tap the home button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • How to Restore Safari Bookmarks with Time Machine in Lion

    Hi -
I want to restore my Safari bookmarks.
I am running Lion and have a Time Machine backup with the correct bookmarks.plist file.
The problem - as I see it - is that the "Library" folder - where the Safari bookmarks.plist file is located - no longer shows up (by default in Lion) in the Home folder.
I fixed it so that "Library" does now show up in the home folder but since it was not set to show "Library" at the time the backup I need was done, it doesn't show up in the Home folder for the backup that I need.
I have tried restoring the entire Home folder but this is not restoring my bookmarks for some reason.
I even tried restoring the entire hard drive but that did not work either!
It would seem that the "library" folder - even if it was hidden - would be restored when I did the entire Home folder or the entire hard drive.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
