How to retrieve mail attachments from deleted messages?
I've erased by accident some emails with attachments. I can recover the messages without any problem, but the attachments appear to be only empty files 0 kb.
Anyone can help?

How can I stop Thunderbird from deleting messages arbitrarily?
Quite often when I delete "a" message from my Inbox, Thunderbird deletes a previous or following message at the same time. Sometimes I can find the message in Junk, or Trash, yet on several occasions I have to go to gmail on-line to recapture the message.
Thanks for your advice. I think that may be the problem as it does not occur if I use the Delete key on the keyboard. I appreciate your response.

I have duplicate mail accounts and deleted messages keep redownloading in gmail
I am using Mountain Lion and I have a me.com email account, gmail account, and sbcglobal.net account. I set up my accounts in iMail and I use iCloud, but now I have duplicate mail accounts and every time I delete messages from my gmail account, the next time I go into Mail, all the deleted messages are back in my gmail account. How do I stop this from happening and how do I make it so that I don't have duplicates of everything!
All 3 email accounts show up under Inbox, but all three also show up as iCloud, sbcglobal.net, and gmail. The iCloud account will occasionally get duplicates, the sbcglobal.net account only gets mail that sbcglobal.net has put into a "bulk" folder and seems to be all junk mail and does not show up in the sbcglobal.net inbox account and the gmail shows up in both places, but I can delete messages in the gmail inbox account and they do not download again, but the second gmail account is the one that keeps redownloading the already deleted messages into the gmail "all mail" folder. I have tried deleting the gmail account and have gone to gmail's help page, but they are behind with set up for Mac Mail. The set up is for Mail 3.0 and not 6.2. It keeps downloading over a thousand emails into this gmail "all mail" folder. Is there any way to stop this?

I am unable to view e-mail attachments from a when logging on through a website
I am not view or retrieve e-mail attachments from a web based e-mail account. I can log into my account and view e-mails but the attachments are not showing up. This problem only recently appeared previously I was able to view and read attachments. I am able to view attachments in Windows Internet Explorer.

IMAP email is server based. The messages stay on the server and just view them remotely with an email client like Thunderbird. If you want to keep a copy on your computer you need to move a copy of the email message to a folder under Local Folders. If you delete the message off the server, it is going to be gone otherwise.
The delete from the server option is a POP email server. It does not apply with IMAP email. -

The Firewire disk is connected and have been able to copy across document folders etc, but Migration Assistant doesn't find the disk so that method no good.
