How to reverse geocode in LR4 if image is already tagged with latitude/longitude

I've seen Terry White's video about geocoding by importing a .gpx file, but what if I've already got the latitude and longitude, and what I need is for Lightroom 4 to look up the city, state, country, etc. Is this possible?

This fixed the problem for any photo that does not have existing GPS coordinates embedded. Two continuing problems:
1 - Sadly all of my images that already have GPS coordinates embedded (iPhone shots and dSLR shots with a GPS unit) will not auto fill the City, State, Country fields.
2 - Having to click on the City, State, Country fields to commit them makes the feature of little value as it saves no time. I can select images in grid mode and batch append the individual fields faster than clicking into the fields to commit. I imagine this can be fixed by a preference that allows for some type of auto commit of the Google appended metadata.

How to upload Photo (10.10.3) images to a website with safari

It seems when using Chrome or Safari or any browsed the Photo (10.10.3) Library File will not display the actual photos inside it in any browsable format. This means I have to export photo our to a regular folder before I can upload it to a website or service using any browser. In addition there is not quick action to export to a regular folder. This all seems pretty basic, I must be missing something.

How do I use dynamic JSP vars in a form tag with implicit sessions?

I'm using iAS 6 SP4 and 'lite' sessions w/ sticky LB on Win2K for development and need to use a dynamic variable (via an = scriptlet) to specify the URL a form tag's ACTION method posts to. The implicit URL session encoding attempts to add the hidden input tags to the form but part of it is getting cut off. If I remove the dynamic var scriptlet from the form tag it works fine. How can I use dynamic vars and implicit URL session encoding?
Here's my code sample:

Because the <INPUT> tagon the first session var is cut off, up to the T, the page obviously fails. Can this be fixed with a config setting, or is it a bug in iPlanet??

The problem I tried to solve was that I want the result from my service methods
in XML format. I thought a callback/polling was the best alternative, am I right?
Since the callback option doesn´t work I will try to poll the service.
Are there any other options for solving my problem??

How can i download purchases when 'this computer is already associated with an apple iD'

This has happened many times when using iTunes.
My iTunes is authorised with this computer, and i can make purchases off the iMac I'm using and
have the music be in my iTunes library.
BUT, I also have an iPad, and I've downloaded a few songs off iTunes on my iPad, and I'm having trouble
re-downloading them to my Mac.
I went into my user>purchases>download all
but it came up with a notice saying:
'This computer is already associated with an apple ID,
You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days.
You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 64 days.'
Please help? Ive seen this notice before, and I think i just hit 'Okay' but I can't download my songs to my mac now.

How to drive sound to TV (if minijack is already busy with an ampli)?

I have a 2009 mac mini.
Currently, I use my ampli A/V for sound.
My set up is > Mac Mini > minijack/toslink cable > Ampli A/V.
Since, I also have 2 displays (a dell and a TV LCD), I would like to get sound from both of them without having to turn on my ampli a/v at all time.
I really would like that +snow leopard+ may bring sound with minidisplay...
but waiting for that magic day, what is your recommandation for getting sound to tv and monitor without spending too much?
I have read about usb sound card or usb dac...
Is there any difference between the 2. For TV sound I do not expect top quality so I would not spend, let's say, no more than 50$ for this.

In a first time, I thought that on the back of my lcd there was an optical input. But after reading the user guide, I realized that it was an output one.
So, the LCD Tv set has got a RCA L/R input.
And just few hours ago, I decided to purchase a USB sound card for about 20 euros.

Reverse geocoding are amazing, saves me a lot of work, but filename template I use seems don't work well with that feature.
With file naming scheme like this: "Country-City-Sequence # (001)" the result is "--001.jpg" instead of "France-Paris-001.jpg" and I have to confirm address for hundreds photos manually to see country and city information in filename.
Same situation in jf PicasaWeb plugin, when using caption scheme like this: "{Country}. {City}. {YYYY}. {Caption}." the result is ". . 2012. Example caption." instead of "France. Paris. 2012. Example caption."
It is possible for Lightroom to use address suggestions in this situations whenever address fields are empty?
Most important for me is to plugins see the address suggestions like normal (hard) data if address fields are empty.

On the face of it, Lr4's implementation of reverse geocoding is excellent, and it is when dealing with images taken at the same location. However, its handling of mixed locations is painful. In my case I use Jeffrey Friedl's plugin. It fully integrates with the Map module and allows you to reverse geocode without the limitations your currently experiencing. Very likely not what you wnated to read, but it does provided a painless solution to the problem you've identified.

Images are not "in" Lightroom. Image files are on the hard drive, and the Lightroom edits are in the catalog.
Lr creates a link between the catalog and the image files on the hard drive.
So, there is no need to bring images from one version of Lr to the other.
When you install Lr4 it will find your existing catalog and update it (in fact it updates a copy of the catalog); Lr4 will then "know" where your images are because their location is recorded in the catalog.
It is the unfortunate choice of the word "import" that creates the impression that images are in Lr like eggs in a basket. Nope!

I am running LR4.2 and Photoshop CS6 Ext (most recent version) on a Windows 7 Pro PC.
I did a Pano Merge the day before yesterday.
1. In LR4.x, select the photos you want to merge (I like to do a Lens Profile, White Balance and Noise Reduction on them first. I do this on a representative image. Then I Synch those sttings across the selected images.)
2. Right Click on one of the selected images or a selected Thumbnail in the filmstrip.
3. In the pop-out menu, select "Merge to Panorama in Photoshop CS6" (I think that's close to the exact wording.)
4. After some crunching, you will get a merge Window which allows you to select other options for the merge. This happens after LR4 exports copies of the images selected.
5. Select your options and start the merge.

LR4: Save reverse geocoded location data to DNGs

With the introduction of the maps module I try to use it the same way I use other programs (e.g. Geosetter).
Lightroom allows fetching reverse geocoded location information, i.e. city, state, country via Google API. This information is shown in light grey once retrieved:
The problem is: This information is not saved with the DNG. I can activate "export reverse geocoding suggestions whenever address fields are empty" which would export these things with the JPEGs, but I want the information saved within the DNG - additional to the LR database.
How can I achieve this or is this a feature request?

Reverse geocoding & file naming

My images are geotagged. With Lightroom 5, I can reverse geocode the images to have Country, State and City in the IPTC fields. However, unless I go in each field, they are greyed. When I want to export the images, I want to use the naming convention Country-State-City-incremental number.jpg for each image, but unless the fields have been edited, lightroom ignore the fileds (and hence put ---1.jpg). Any idea how I can confirm the location without having to go to each image and edit the fields?

I agree that reverse geocoding data need to be reviewed. In my case, 85+ of the data is correct and this would be easier to validate this info with a single key combination rather than having to click in 4 field per image. Adobe is confident enough with the data to use it in filters without it being reviewed by the user, so why not in export and/or other functions? This still puzzles me. This will give the user the option to review, or trust the data retrieved.
