  • How to split image into smaller (same size) pieces?

    Hi all,
    My question is how to split image into smaller (same size) pieces, using Photoshop elements 13? Could anyone help me with this one?
    Thanks!

    Use the Expert tab in Editor (I think that is what it is called in PSEv.13)
    You may find the grid helpful. Go to View>Grid. It will not print, but will help to orient you. You can set up the gridlines to suit via Edit>Preferences>Guides and Grid. If you want to partition the picture in to 4 uniform pieces, it would be Gridline every 50%, Subdivision 1. Also, go to View>Snap to>Grid.
    Set up the Rectangular marquee tool: If the picture is 6" wide & 4" high, enter width=3in & height=2in.on the tool's option bar. This will be a fixed size.
    Click and select one quadrant, press CTRL+J to place this quadrant on a separate layer
    Repeat for the other 3 quadrants
    You should end up with 5 layers : Background, and layers 1, 2, 3, 4.

  • How to rotate images tacken by iPad?

    Apple iPad MD513TA/T
    Over a thousand pictures have been taken by this iPad, but all upside down.
    Some of the pictures have been coppied/pasted to PC and have been tested for rotating by Windows Office Picture Manager.
    The Office Picture Manager could display the pictures but its rotating function was nonfunctional for these pictures.
    How to rotate the pictures taken by iPad?  On iPad?   On PC?
    Thanks.

    If this happens on Windows systems it is because the Windows Photo Viewer and Live Photo Gallery may ignore the EXIF orientation of the photos. This data tells the viewer which way is up.
    See here for discussion and details from Microsoft on how this may be fixed on Windows:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-pictures/windows-phot o-viewer-or-live-photo-gallery-does/a161c8da-c1ce-4347-a92e-724f9e535c15
    You can also avoid this problem by taking photos in landscape mode with the iPhone/iPad held with the Home button to the right. In portrait mode keep the Home button down.

  • Browser background - how to rotate image?

    When I insert an image for my browser background it rotates itself 90 degrees when I publish the site. In iweb the image is correct, it's only when I publish that it has the wrong rotation.  How can I control this?

    Try publishing your site to a local folder and launch it in the browser by double clicking the index.html file...

  • How to nudge in very small increments

    Hi all. Have recently switched from Quark XPress to inDesign CC2014. How do you nudge/move an object in fine increments?
    In Quark it was option + arrow keys, and option command + arrow keys to move in even finer increments.

    Shift+cmd will give you nudge increments in 1/10 of what you set your nudge increment to.
    You can change that if you want. All KBSCs are customizable. Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts.

  • How to reduce image's file size in Preview?

    I am in Preview Version 5.0.3 (504.1).  I have a PDF file that is 3.7 meg. in size.  That is a big large for what I want to do with it.  I would like to reduce its size to something a bit more manageable.   The Preview Help gives these instructions:
    To reduce an image’s file size without changing its dimensions:
    Choose Tools > Adjust Size.
    Select “Resample image.”
    Enter a smaller value in the Resolution field.
    My problem is that in my open window for this file the "Adjust Size" tool is dimmed.  I cannot choose that tool as instructed.
    Does anyone know why and how to get Preview to reduce the size of a PDF file?

    try File-Save As...
    & choose format:pdf    quartz filter:reduce file size
    pick another name to check the results - there's no undo

  • How to fit image inside canvas Container?

    Hi All,
    I want to fit an image inside a canvas.
    Making x and y to 0 of image is not working.
    My problem is I am rotating image at 90 and I want to save that image. If i save normally it is not taking rotation.
    So I am adding that image in a canvas and saving that canvas with rotated image.
    Somehow some portion of canvas still remains empty after adding image to it.
    Any idea how to perfectly fit image inside canvas?
    Or How to rotate image bitmap data with maintainig aspect ratio?
    Thank in advance

    Mx component don't handle rotation very well.  Spark Group should handle it
    better.
    You may need to set the y to the height of the rotated image (its original
    width).

  • Drag Moouse to rotate Image Smoothly

    I have to write an application look somewhat like igoogle's eyes. When I click onto an image, then every where I drag my mouse, the image will rotate smoothly (does not move, rotate only) to where my mouse position is? Think of an arrow that will rotate to point to wherever my pointer's position is. Can you guy give me some advices on how to accomplish this. Thanks. I do know the basic things, like how to rotate image and how to move object using MouseMotionListener... Thank in advance.

  • How to rotate a thumbnail image in Finder?

    Is there a way to rotate a thumbnail image in Finder? When I click a photo in a Finder folder, the image automatically opens in Preview and the image is correctly displayed right side up. But the thumbnail image is displaying a vertical photo horizontally. Can I rotate the thumbnail?

    corelle,
    please open the sidebar of the Preview window and check how the thumbnail is displayed there.
    If the orientation is wrong in the Preview sidebar as well, then apparently some program rotated the image but not the EXIF preview image, which is obviously not a good thing.
    If the orientation is correct in the Preview sidebar, but wrong in the Finder, then the file probably has a custom icon with wrong orientation. This should then be removed rather than rotated. It's useless anyhow because Snow Leopard's Finder can better use the EXIF preview image instead.

  • How to auto rotate Images on Full Screen Slideshow if pictures were taken mixed Portrait and Landsca

    In Muse: How to auto rotate Images on Full Screen Slideshow if pictures were taken mixed Portrait and Landscape

    There is no way that Muse would automatically rotate the images. What you can instruct Muse to do is whether you want to show all image content and leave blank space in either direction OR scale the image to fill the frame resulting in some cropping, but filling the otherwise blank space.
    The options are Fit Content Proportionally and Fill Frame Proportionally respectively.

  • How do i include a small image (photo) on all e-mails

    How do I include a small image (photo) automatically on all e-mails at top right hand corner?
    Thanks
    tramoyon

    Thanks leroydouglas.
    Wow, looks a bit too tech for me. I tried the template method but it does not really suit my needs.
    My old iMac on OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) - which is now gathering dust, always had the small photo image at top right hand corner of e-mails. Not sure how it got there, must have been in the set up by my son. I recently up- graded to MacBook Pro and iPad, so the iMac now hardly used, but I recently "lost" all my contacts on the iMac AB and now the image no longer appears on e-mails.
    So, I thought all I would have to do is include the image on my own AB card on the MacBook Pro, but alas no success. I really don't think I want to go through with all the detail supplied. I thought it would be another chacteristically simple Apple "Drag & Drop" exercise.
    Thanks for your troubles Leroydouglas.

  • How to rotate an Image

    I have an Image object in a JComponent and I want to rotate it. How would I go about doing it in the paint() method?

    The code creates a rotated image.
    ImageIcon old=image;
            int max=Math.max(old.getIconHeight(), old.getIconWidth());
            BufferedImage buff=new BufferedImage(max, max, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB);
            Graphics2D g2d=(Graphics2D)buff.getGraphics();
            g2d.translate(-old.getIconWidth(),0);
            g2d.rotate(-Math.PI/2,old.getIconWidth(),0);
            g2d.drawImage(old.getImage(),0,0,null);
            image=new ImageIcon(buff);Regards,
