How to run the APD programmatically with different query variables

Hi All
I have a requirement to run a APD with a query in it programmatically on a series of posting periods from 1 to 10 I want to run the APD once for each posting period.
Any idea how I can do this.

Karen,
Create a variable on posting period in the query.
in tcode RSRT, choose the query name , here you have the option of creating query variants. create different variants and save it.
In APD, when you choose the query, you have the option of choosing query variant, choose the variant you created in rsrt.
You can automate by including the APD with different query variants in a PC.

I have a report ( say 1.dis) with 2 sheets ( X and Y ). X has the parameter
District and Y has the parameter Division. While I saved the report, the sheet X was opened . ( That means I run the report X from Desktop and save the report )
Now I execute the following command to run the X .

It is successfully run and gives the output file.
Now I execute the following command to run the Y.

/apps_responsibility "test_Resp" /open "C:\Test\1.DIS" /sheet "Y" /parameter "Division"
"DEF" /export xls C:\Test\DIS_REPORT_OUTPUT_Y.xls /BATCH
It is showing the error
District: Unresolved parameter.
If I save the report while the sheet Y is opened , then the second command is running fine,
but the first one is showing the error
Division: Unresolved parameter.
It looks the command can not move to other sheet . How can I resolve it ?

Just had an idea. Try removing the double quotes from around the parameter value. Even though it is a string you don't need to provide quotes in the command line. Therefore try again like this:
C:\Dis10gDesktop\bin\dis51usr.exe /connect <user id>/<password>@connectstring /apps_user
/apps_responsibility "test_Resp" /open "C:\Test\1.DIS" /sheet "X" /parameter "District"
ABC /export xls C:\Test\DIS_REPORT_OUTPUT_X.xls /BATCH
and this:
C:\Dis10gDesktop\bin\dis51usr.exe /connect <user id>/<password>@connectstring /apps_user
/apps_responsibility "test_Resp" /open "C:\Test\1.DIS" /sheet "Y" /parameter "Division"
DEF /export xls C:\Test\DIS_REPORT_OUTPUT_Y.xls /BATCH
You also may not need the double quotes around the sheet and parameter names. Typically these are only used when there is a space in the name
As an FYI, if you need to put quotes around a parameter value try using single quotes instead of double quotes and as a tip if you are passing multiple values to a parameter they should be passed with a comma between them and no space either before or after the comma.

I stuck in a problem . actually i want to blink the titlebar color with 2 different color while the window is in minimize state.
just like skype when the message comes the titlebar blinks with two different colors if it is in minimize state.

How to run the runallocation function with following scenario

the cost center 123 has the following property and value
property name CC_PER CC1 CC1_PER CC2 CC2_PER
value 80 456 60 789 40
CC_per contains the percentage of value to be allocated out.
CC1 contains the id of target CC to be allocated to
CC1_PER contains the percentage of value to be allocated to CC1
CC2 contains the id of target CC to be allocated to
CC2_PER contains the percentage of value to be allocated to CC2.
So here what we need to achieve is to allocate 80% of CC123 out.
60% of which go to 456 40% of which go to 789..
How to use runallocation standard function to achieve this? although I can write a customized script for the same.

What you see in those posts is correct - drivers (as well as senders and receivers) can be Transaction Data only.
What you confused is how to select those records that hold those drivers. For this you can use Properties of Dimensions. So, basically it will be same as if you populate a variable via *SELECT (from Dimension) and than use that variable in allocation (WHAT or WHERE or USING or TOTAL).
For example,
*DIM Product_Group... USING= [Fruit] = "apples"...
doesn't mean that driver will be taken from Product_Group Dimension where Property FRUIT has value "apples". It means that it will take those members from Dimension Product_Group that have "apples" in FRUIT Property and than select SIGNDATA from those records that have those selected members in the Application.
Yes, it is perfectly fine to use property values in allocations, but you have to keep in mind that
1. It will get that data (key figure) from the Application, not from Dimension;
2. It is possible that there are not records in the Application that comply with that selection. Than no allocation will be executed (depending on SP and OSS Notes applied).

1) Variable sequence isn't respected in XI3.1 - and can't be modified in OLAP.unv (this enhancement exists in 4.0 )
2) Dynamic filtering? Yes, Exit routines are the best way to go for this.

Hi, here's a question:
How can I share the home folder with different accounts on the same mac?
The whole point being not to have to install all my apps, and move all my files each time between users.
The second thing would be to be able to modify one document on one account, and have it changed on the other account without having to copy it.
I would like to have a pro and a private account on my mac.

Your apps should not be installed in your home folder--they should be in /Applications where every user can access them.
If you want to share things between users on the same Mac, use the /Users/Shared folder. Keep your home folder private. Trying to defeat the protections on the home folder subfolders just gets messy. I've never bothered to figure out all of the problems associated with it so I can't explain how to do it.
Even with using Shared, you would need to alter the ACLs on the shared folder in order to allow both users to modify the documents.
You must create a Group in Users & Groups and put each user in that group. Then create a folder inside /Users/Shared where you want to share the various files.
Then, add an ACL to the shared folder that gives the group special permissions. on that folder.
sudo chmod -R +a "<sharinggroup> allow delete,chown,list,search,add_file,add_subdirectory,delete_child,file_inherit,directory_inherit" /Users/Shared/<sharing folder>
Replace <sharinggroup> and <sharingfolder> with the name of your group and your folder. Then, run the command in the Terminal.
With that ACL, each user in <sharinggroup> will be able to alter the files created by any user in the group in that <sharingfolder>.
Essentially, the client OS is not designed for true file sharing among the individual users. It is designed to isolate each user account from the others.

I am currently working on extracting data in to flat file and I am able to do so for one revenue month (e.g. 200101) using PL/SQL procedure(get_rev_data). it takes almost 1 hour to execute the procedure completely and it generates 400 MB data file. Now I have to run this procedure for last 10 yrs of data (i.e. 120 revenue months) . my prolem here is to figure out a way/logic in such a way that I can run the procedure in parallel for each revenue month and at the same time it will write the data in respective data file for each revenue month. so the final result of this exercise would be 120 flat files, one for each revenue month with file names like
EXTRACT_00001001 to EXTRACT_00001120.
where
first five digits : 00001 will indicate the Extract run number and
last three digits : 001 will indicate the thread number for each run.
I am thinking of doing this by creating a table "RevMonth" with two values (revenue_month, thread_num) and calling the procedure in a simple select statement and passing revenue_month as parameter of the procedure like
SELECT get_rev_data(revenue_month, thread_num)
FROM REVMONTH;
But I am not sure if that will do the needful. Any idea on how to achieve this will be of great help. Thank you.

Thanks for the advise. I am not planning to run for all 120 months at once. actually I am planning to run like 1 year (12 revenue months at a time). I am not sure if that will work well but I was planning to run this through shell script (Unix) and will call the same procedure with different parameter (revenue_month and Thread_number) values and see what happens. I hope that will run in parallel for each revenue month.

Need to know that how to run the Invoices in different groups within the batch. This will be of very helpful when we deal with lot of lines under one batch. (e.g) like somewhere we issued a Corporate Card to all the employees Via Bank Of America. Every Month they will send the complete details of all the employees who ever swiped the corporate provided BOA. Accordding to Natco all those lines should be loaded as One Invoice so that a Single Payment can be provided to BOA and it will also makes their life easier. This standard program sometimes it works normal sometimes it will run like a TORTOISE. So thats why in the manual they suggested to use GROUP ID to split the Invoice Load.
So plz tell me how we can run it

You do not want to edit material from different frame rates on one timeline. You CAN do this, but it is a very bad idea - and this is why.
Once you establish the sequence frame rate - lets say it is PAL material at 25fps, any material that you drop into the sequence other than 25 fps will have to be changed to play at 25 fps. If the material you add is NTSC (29.97), FCP will DROP 5 frames per sec to bring the frame rate down to 25 fps. Which 5 get thrown away? Every 6th one. This yields a funky cadence that becomes even more complex as as there are also interlaced fields (DV/NTSC is an interlaced format). Oh, and by the way, the image sizes are different as well. DV/PAL has 576 lines of resolution and DV/NTSC has 480. FCP has to scale up the NTSC to fit the PAL frame.
You do not want FCP adjusting these things on the fly. You want to do a thoughtful (and time consuming) conversion so that you end up with all your material in one format with the best possible image from the conversion process. Compressor can do an adequate job with Frame Controls turned on. The Natress Standards Conversion FCP plugin is another way to go. A third option is to find a post house that can do the conversion for you using a hardware based process.
The good news is, once everything is in the same format, editing it will be painless and the output process very quick.
Whatever frame rate/ image size you select, I'd suggest using ProRes for the codec. It is 4:2:2 color and will withstand color correction and composting with much more grace than any variant of DV based codecs.

In iTunes(on a Mac or PC) just tap on 'Albums' rather than 'Artists' and you'll see them all together.
You may find that there are songs mislabelled. In which case right tap on the Album or Artist and tap 'Get Info', then change to the correct name and the songs will join the rest of the songs for that Artist or Album.
Then resync with your iPhone and all will be well.

Alternatively, partition your internal HD and dual-boot it. Do note that you have to reboot to switch back and forth. You can't do it by logging out and back in.

You do have a very complex looking site and may need several tables in mysql to handle all that data. If you knew to phpmysql I would suggest taking a look at this tutorial it will help get you started in understanding how to $_GET info from a database and also how to $_POST data to a database. HELP!! Authorization in the same laptop with different operation systems

My BF installed Win 7 operation system on his laptop yesterday and re-authorized it when he used iTunes. However, when he finished authorization, a dialog block showing that "*Including this one, you have authorised two computers out of your available 5*" appeared; what's worse, when he connected his iPhone to the laptop, it deleted all the bought apps in the iPhone, instead of synchronizating.
I also want to install Win 7 operation system, but I'm afraid that the same thing would happen again (to my iTouch).
We're quite confused that why the authorization in the same laptop with different operation systems is counted as two times. Friends who know please tell us whether this is the case.. If not, please tell us how to deal with it as we frequently re-install operation system for quicker operation.

It's the *operating system* that is authorised, not the particular user profile or the hardware. Before upgrading/reinstalling deauthorise and you won't run out...

They can, but not at the same time.
If one user left iTunes running, and another user tries to use iTunes from a different Windows user ID, that second user will get an error message. If they really want to use iTunes, they either have to beg the first user to log in and close iTunes, or else they have to restart the computer.
If you are asking the technical reason why, it is something about context switching.
