  • How to overwrite text in a scanned document

    I have a scanned document which a want to do some changes in the origin text an be able to add text. Possible???

    Click on the 'A' button at top left of the tools pane. Then click in the document and type your text. Select it and use the 'Text' menu to change the font and size.
    Note that once you click away from it it becomes part of the paint image and you cannot subsequently edit it. You can't move it once placed except by clicking away from it, then selecting its area and moving that (which will move anything behind it as well).
    The text options are very limited and if you want to do something more advanced you will need a program with layers.

  • How to search text content of csv file

    I am, unfortunately, new to Macs and Mac OS X.  Please forgive my rudimentary terminology.  I use .csv files in my work, and I need to be able to search through a directory of them for all that contain a particular bit of text.  I have tried using the search box in Finder, and limiting my search to the particular folder containing the .csv files of interest.  I also have limited the search by selecting the options next to the search folder, and selecting the search criterion of "Contents" and typing the term I am seeking in the "contains" box.  This has not given me any results.  Is there another way to find what I am seeking?

  • Cannot search file content on Word document with embedded Excel table

    Cannot search file content on Word document with embedded Excel table. I have Windows 8.1 64-bit and Office 2010 Professional. Only phrases from within Excel tables are not searchable. I have many Word documents with embedded Excel table.
    I use it for my invoices. Those invoices are converted to pdf to be sent via mail. Searching the same phrases in related pdf files Works fine. And yes, folders are indexed, searching service is active......... For example I can find all invoices that have
    specific address or name, which is located in word document, but cannot find invoices with specific item name or price, being that information is in embedded Excel table. (not linked, embedded). I thought that is a question for Windows forum, but guys directed
    me here on Office forum. To clarify, I do not use Ctrl+F inside some document, but Windows Search in my folders. Probably the same happens in Office 2013.
    Thank you.

    Hi, I have a lot of Word documents (invoices, offers). Main part of those documents is embedded Excel file because it is easier to do mathematics in Excel than in Word. There are columns with description, unit price, quantity, taxes... Now, I need
    to find who bought HP switch 2530-24G last year. I open folder with last year invoices and search "2530". Cannot find any. But if that document was converted to pdf for mail, than I can find that phrase. Windows search does not work for content if the content
    is in embedded file.

  • How to search the content of TPL files?

    Hi. I have a folder with hundreds of template "tpl" files that I'm needing to search the file contents of but using the regular search of that folder is unable to search the content of the tpl files, is it possible to do so?
    Thanks!,
    Wesley

    I assume there's not a "scan all files" with Spotlight?
    I don't think that would be possible in the specific case of content searches. Here's my understanding:
    EasyFind searches the files themselves when it looks for content, which makes it slow but very flexible.
    In contrast, Spotlight searches a pre-existing index when it looks for things - it can be instructed to search the index in various ways, but if the desired information is not in the index in the first place, it won't be found. Indexing the content of every file in the system is not feasible, so only the contents of certain file types get indexed. I found the following in [this Wikipedia article|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spotlight_%28software%29]:
    Aside from basic information about each file like its name, size and timestamps, the mdimport daemon can also index the content of some files, when it has an Importer plug-in that tells it how the file content is formatted. Spotlight comes with importers for certain types of files, such as Microsoft Word, MP3, and PDF documents. Apple publishes APIs that allow developers to write Spotlight Importer plug-ins for their own file formats.[3]
    So unless you'd care to write your own Spotlight Importer plug-in for tpl files, I think you are out of luck!

  • How to display the contents of a document set on a page?

    I want to display the contents of a document set (that contains both folders and files) on a page (with the same structure as they are in the document set like folders and files). How to achieve this?
    I tried content search webpart but it is of no use as it displays the flat list instead I need folders and files as they are present in the document set
    I tried document set contents webpart but as it doesn't accept any connection, it is not of much use.
    I will be glad if you have any pointers for me in this regard.
    Regards
    Kesava

    Hi Kesava,
    According to your description, you might want to display the content in a document set with its hierarchy.
    How about using
    Page Viewer Web Part to display the page of the corresponding document set? This would be a non-code solution I would recommend.

  • How to search text in the table?

    Suppose, I've selected some fragment in my document, and I need to find and replace some text in it. Everything is ok, untill I select a part of a table with this text. Does anyone has idea, how to search through the selected cells in the table? Or, just how to iterate them?
    Thanks!

    var doc = app.ActiveDoc;
    var tbl = doc.SelectedTbl;
    // Navigate to the first selected row.
    var row = tbl.FirstRowInTbl;
    while (row.ObjectValid() === 1) {
        if (row.id === tbl.TopRowSelection.id) {

        if (row.id === tbl.BottomRowSelection.id) {

  • How does oracle text differentiate between various document formats?

    how does oracle text differentiate between text documents of various formats. does it read binary headers or a file extension is necessary?
    please comment..

    Oracle uses the inso_filter for document filtering as desribed in the documentation:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/text.920/a96518/afilsupt.htm#625110
    I did a little test (included below) where I copied a .pdf file to a file with a .test extension and it was still able to index it and search it, so apparently it does not need the file extensions and must read the header.

  • How to search the content in a Table

    Hi all,
        How can i search the content in a table. is there any UI Element is there to do this? Can any body give me any sample code for this
    regards,
    VJR

    Hi,
    you gotta do that programmatically,
    here is a sample code:
    int sizeOfstudent = wdContext.nodeCtx_vn_student().size();
    //Ctx_vn_student is the node associated with the table ie its dataSource property
    String filtername = wdcontext.currentContextElement.getSName();
    //sName is the name to be searched , it is a context attribute
              for(int i = sizeOfstudent-1;i>=0;i--)
                   String matchValue = recNode.getElementAt(i).getAttributeAsText("Name");
    //get the name of 1st record(in table) or 1st elememnt in node, "Name" here is value attribute of that node
    //so we are fetching its value and comparing it like..
                   if(matchValue.equalsIgnoreCase(filtername))
                        //here you can add the action to be taken on mathing name                }
    hope it helps

  • How to search package contents?

    Is there any way to get Finder to search package contents?
    I'm trying to find some duplicate audio files that are buried in the Media folders inside some GarageBand files. I know I can use the contextual menu to "Show Package Contents", but I don't want to search each of them manually.
    I've tried searching for visible or invisible (even though I don't think package contents actually qualify as invisible files). Anyhow, that didn't work. I also tried searching using the "file exists" criterion, but no dice.
    I can see the file right there in the Media folder, and I can't get Finder to even recognize that it's there, let alone find any duplicates. This is pretty frustrating. I'd appreciate any help.
    Thanks!

    Cool!
    I DL'd EasyFind, installed it, and gave it a try. It works like gangbusters, it's dirt simple, completely intuitive, and FAST!! No more dealing with that stupid Finder that forces me to select "Name" as the preferred search criterion every time I want to search for a filename...which accounts for >95% of all my searches.
    Problem solved. Thanks!

  • Scan documents into DMS

    Hi experts.
    Let me present the following question.
    At the client there are a group of documents that arrive in paper format which must be afterwards scanned into to the legacy application.
    It is intended to replace the legacy application with SAP DMS.
    I haven't found any relevant documentation detailing how can a document be digitalized and sent into DMS, if it is even possible at all.
    Does anyone knows of a solution for this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.
    JF.

    Hi,
    Keep your document scanned.
    Create a Document Info Records using transaction CV01N.
    Then change the DIR using CV02N. You can attach your scanned document here and save into the content server.
    You can also use BDC to update the documents if you have many scanned document that are to be updated.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Searching TEXT String in a document stored in BLOB Column

    Hi,
    I fairly new to this concept of Oracle iText. I would like to get the atmost procedural approach to meet the following scenario.
    I have a table with 3 columns (viz. id,name, content) of which content is a BLOB datatype. I have stored a simple .doc file in this column. (Just one row has been stored into this table ). I am aware that this document contains my search word say 'TOPIC'.
    These are the following steps i did to get my soln but didnt meet my expected result.
    1. Inserted the row into the table ..... successful
    2. Tried to do a simple select (using contains)after creating context index....no rows selected
    3. Tried to create preference (DIRECT_PREFERENCE) and create an index using this PREFERENCE and do the select for the search string......no rows selected
    It would b great if u would let me know, how can i retrive the doc info ie. atleast the id,name from the database if i get a matched search string in the table.
    Regards
    Kevin

    When you index BLOBs (or RAW, or file) the product assumes that you have some kind of
    binary data -- like Microsoft Word or something like that. It then automatically
    engages the INSO filter.
    In your case, if I understand correctly, you have text data stored in a blob.
    So INSO filtering is not appropriate. So you will want to tell the product not to
    use INSO:
    create index ...
    parameters ('filter ctxsys.null_filter');
    try that...

  • Find the Missing font text content in indesign document

    How to find and get the missing font content in the indesign documents by using the SDK. give a tips and techniques.
    Anybodys help me.

    It wont answer your question, but you could have this problem too:
    I have a problem in my current project where text frame having no text make the document report the usage of a font wich we dont want the project to use (times by exemple). The problem being that Indesign report usage of a font wich is in fact not applied to any text. Weird!
    The easy fix is to identify those items (text frame class + no text) and reassign them as "unassigned".

  • How to search text in pdf file?

    Hi all
    I have to store the cover of a newspaper that include images and text and then should be able to search keywords in the cover.
    I've read about to store in pdf format and use intermedia text.
    I am just wondering the way to store and to do the search .
    Thanks all

    Hi,
    You need store the PDF document in a BLOB column and create a CTXSYS index type.
    e.g.: (.doc files)
    CREATE INDEX I_DOC ON DOC_TABLE (DOC_COLUMN) INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT PARAMETERS ('SYNC (ON COMMIT)');Then you can test typing this SQL below:
    select score(1) from DOC_TABLE where contains(DOC_COLUMN, 'My text', 1) > 0;In my case, i use this index for purpose to search on Word Documents (.doc)
    Maybe this link help you to create an index type using FILTERS, in order to search on PDF files:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/text/htdocs/altfilters.htm

  • How to search the contents of emlx files in 10.7 Lion ?

    Hi,
    Since Apple Mail in 10.7 leaved some messages in a Mail Lost+Found folder it would be nice to find out which of those messages might also exist in the active mailboxes and since Apple Mail cannot import these Lost & Found mails (unless manually opened and sorted in Mail), it would be handy to do a quick search for text in these messages. Why does no Search options ever works when needed in Mac OS X ? EasyFind could not find anything either. Reindexing did not help. Raw content serach in the Finder does not help. Why cannot the Mac system be a little helpful when it comes to searching?

    Yes, your conclusion seems logical, indeed, but I am copying text from an opened emlx file and even if I put it on my desktop and do a Finder search; a Spotlight search or a search via EasyFind, none of them actually find the file ... . Which may lead to the conclusion that I am doing something wrong, but I do not really think so ... .
    I now even created a new folder on the desktop and dragged the emlx message from which I choose a word and try to search it with EasyFind with no success, but I eventually managed to find it through Spotlight now, but Spotlight does not find the file in the Mail Lost+Found folder. Which makes clear this is related to permissions of the files in my own home folder that Lion has given them. And, yes, the solution is that the folder where the emlx file is stored within the Mail Lost+Found folder has no read permissions for anyone but the owner.
    Problem solved. Have to verify this on other computers (but the permissions were not handled correctly somewhere back through history or when converting the messages from 10.6.8 ...).
