Sending smartforms as PDF attachement via e mail
Hello all:
I have configured PPF actions to send smartforms as PDF attchment via e mail it works fine in one client.
But when I copied the transport to another client, the entries in field 'Recipient' in the configuration step 'Define Conditions and Output Parameters for Comm. of Cust.Shipm. & Cust.Dcl' are not copied to the new client. I had maintained the name of the inbox folder that has e mail addresses in this field. Any one has a similar issue ? Or is this similar to the number ranges and not transportable and we have to maintain them in every client. Any insight into this very much appreciated.Hello:
If you want to send the smartform as a PDF attachment, configure your PPF action as described below:
Step 1: Define Techn. Medium for Msgs (PPF Actions) f. Cust. Shipm. and Cust. Decl.
In the action definition, choose processing type as 'External Communication'
form type: 'Smart Forms'
format: /SAPSLL/FORM_PROC
personalization type: 2 object specific....
Make this action definition partner function dependent and create a Z partner function. Maintain that
partner function in this definition.
Step 2: Define Conditions and Output Parameters for Comm. of Cust.Shipm. & Cust.Dcl
Select Communication Method: Internet Mail
Mail Settings: send status: 3
Configure the reamaining PFF actions as usual.
This will work if that configured partner function is maintained in the customs declaration. And for that business partner, maintain the e mail address in the address dependent section via txn BP. -
Want to Send smartform as pdf attachment with a Email to some mail id
Hi ,
I want to send a smartform as a PDF attachment with a mail to a mail id. And I can send a mail with the PDF attachment.
But I am not able to open the PDF. It is throwing some error (Adobe reader could not open u2018fileu2019 because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example , it was sent as an email attachment and was not correctly decoded)).
By debugging I come to know that the file which is generating is in some encoding format.
Please help me regard this. This is very urgent.

Send smartform as pdf attachment through Email on ECC 5.0
I have been trying hard to do this, but am not able to send attachment. Below are the problems -
1. If sometimes the mail goes, the attachment is empty.
2. if i use COMMIT_WORK = 'X' in FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 , it throws a dump - ' Invalid COMMIT WORK in an update function module.'
3. If i comment COMMIT_WORK = 'X', it gets executed successfully but, in the program i get a dump 'UC_OBJECTS_NOT_CHAR' exception.
Can someone suggest, what settings are required in SAP to send smartforms as PDF attachments. Also, please suggest how can i remove the dump. If anyone can give me a working program, it will be very very helpful.

How to send photos as email attachments???
This is a ridiculously easy and simple question but I'm a mac newbie and can't figure out how to send photos as email attachments, not embed them in the body of the email. Every time I go to send a picture or group of pictures from i-photo an email message opens....the pictures are embedded in the body of the email and that's how they appear to receipients. In a test, I've sent them to a PC...the message comes through just fine but the photos don't have separate attachments that I can click on and "save as." they come through as bitmap files. Any ideas? THANK YOU.
It will not ALWAYS fix the problem that this topic is about; I had my Mail preferences set to send as Plain Text and it did not fix the problem. Additionally, since there is NOT an option in Iphoto as you previously noted, it might be confusing to some people.
However, for those of you who have the same problem, there seems to be a solution that worked for me. I also had the problem that Mail was overriding my sizing preference when I selected them in Iphoto (share > email) and always sending them as small instead of medium as I preferred.
Since it seems that sometimes Mail does not deploy the plain text default so you need to kick start it to remember. This is how I did it....
- Select the photos you want and hit SHARE > EMAIL in Iphoto
- Now, in Mail click on the photo browser button
- Find another photo in Iphoto via the browser and drag and drop it into the email that you're composing
- You'll see a size option appear in the bottom right hand corner
- Playing around with the sizing option a few times kicked it into gear and it seems to be working better since then

I cannot associate a role because these emp nos are sub-set of a role which I have created and i am getting thru the cursor query.

I would use the cursor to populate the API for creating an ad-hoc role within the workflow process as a function. Then set your notification performer as the ad-hoc role.

You can use the Share button on Preview's toolbar. Choosing Email pops open Mail with the PDF already iconified as an attachment. If it doesn't behave this nicely for you, select the PDF in Mail and choose the right contextual menu, where you will find View as Icon. I also have Send Windows-Friendly attachments enabled.

Some pdf attachments missing in mail 5.2
I fail to receive pdf attachments intermittently using Mail 5.2 running OS X 10.7.3 (Lion). When the attachments do not arrive, I see no paperclip in the attachments column. On a recent occasion, a colleague sent me three consecutive emails, each with 1-2 pdf files attached. The middle one (containing one pdf), shows no attachment in Mail. However, I know the attachment is there, because if I open it on my iPhone, I see the attachment. What's more, if I forward the email to myself from the iPhone, I can now see the attachment again. This has happened several times in the past as well. Any ideas?

Two times where I'm aware it happened, the sender had replied and included the attachments I had sent in my original message, and I'm wondering if those attachments somehow led to their own attachments not displaying and not even being counted in the e-mail window. "3 Attachments, 317 KB" displayed, but those were my three; clicking the "Save" drop-down menu listed only those 3 attachments of mine. In one case, I had them resend their attachments as a new e-mail, and that worked. Their 2 attachments totalled 941 KB, so Mail missed rather a lot by displaying just 317 KB. -

Client side distribution for using RowSets
Greetings All, I plan to use RowSets as distributed data objects on the client machine. My concern is do I need to bundle the weblogic.jar with the code? Or will the RowSet interface bundled with J2SE suffice? TIA Saby.
