How to set up context parameter of a web application

Hi,
I am tring to deploy a ear file to J2EE Engine 7.1
with the help of import feature of NWDS.
Is there any option to set the value of the context parameters defined in web.xml inside the ear.

  • How to set a context init parameter

    Hello,
    Can anyone tell me how to set the following context init parameter. "javax.faces.application.CONFIG_FILES" on a windows configuration. I haven't got a clue how to do that and would be very grateful for your help.
    Thanks,
    Alexandre.

    There is no difference on how to set this context init parameter based on OS platform.
    The paramter value should always be a comma-delimited list of context-relative paths under the web application (ex. /WEB-INF/app-config.xml).

  • How to set portal context using Java/JPDK api.

    Hi,
    I am in the process of converting pl/sql based database provider contect portlets to Java based JPDK. I ran into issue where the database provider portlet users were getting context auto matically. Now with Java/JPDK portlets , I am receiving no data found error, since the context is not set. The pl/sql is setting wwctx_private_api.set_context ('portal') to set the context. From Java if we call this api, it is taking a toll on the performance and the portlet times out.
    Can any help how to set the context for a web provider using JPDK or any other better solution. Any immediate help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • How to set this DATS parameter

    Hi Pros,
            I am calling function 'HR_FORMS_TIM_GET_B2_RESULTS' in the program , its input parameter is BEGDA, I transfer a date variable to BEGDA, but does not work. can not get any data. but if I run this function in SE37, I input date '20140807', successfully get result.  please tell me how to set this DATS parameter?

    Hi,
    You might be passing the date in '12.12.2014' or '12/12/2014' format. Please
    use the function module 'CONVERSION_EXIT_BEGDA_INPUT' to convert the date
    to internal format and then pass it to the function module.

  • How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application witth just a JRE [Web Application, WAR, JSP, weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds and JRE]

              How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application (either a .war file or a war directory structure) without a java compiler?
              I suspect either the JSP specification is flawed (i.e. it doesn't take account of servers using just a JRE), or BEA's implementation is broken.
              Production servers do not have a JDK installed. They only have a JRE. Therfore a java compiler is not present on the machine that the Web Application is deployed onto.
              On the development machine, when the server is requested to load the JSP it creates a tmpwar directory within the Web Application directory structure. This is then included in the resultant .war file thus:
              D:\war>jar -tf gmi.war
              META-INF/
              META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
              gmiService.jsp
              WEB-INF/
              WEB-INF/classes/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/gmiService.class
              WEB-INF/getList.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrict.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrictConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/lib/
              WEB-INF/source/
              WEB-INF/source/build.bat
              WEB-INF/source/gmiService.java
              WEB-INF/web.xml
              WEB-INF/weblogic.xml
              tmpwar/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.class
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.java
              When deployed on the production server with the web.xml file set to use the following values (note XML stripped):
              weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds
              -1
              weblogic.jsp.precompile
              false
              weblogic.jsp.compileCommand
              javac
              weblogic.jsp.verbose
              true
              weblogic.jsp.packagePrefix
              jsp_servlet
              weblogic.jsp.keepgenerated
              false
              And in the weblogic.properties file:
              weblogic.httpd.webApp.gmi=war/gmi
              I've also tried with the .war file, but that insists on creating another tmpwar directory outside of the .war file.
              Then, although I have set pageCheckSeconds to -1 (don't check and don't recompile) ter production server still attempts to recompile the JSP's:
              Mon Sep 25 11:40:11 BST 2000:<I> <WebAppServletContext-gmi> *.jsp: init

    The default Java compiler from sun lives in the tools.jar that comes with
              the JDK. Just add that to your set of JARs which are deployed in production
              and you should be fine. No need to install the full JDK - just make the
              tools.jar available to WebLogic.

  • How to set the tables parameter to a BAPI using adaptive RFC model

    Hi,
    I have a BAPI ZBAPI that has a tables parameter ZPernr of type ZTable with two elements pernr and name.
    I used adaptive RFC model and created model classes for the BAPI.
    My question how do i set list of pernr and name to the tables parameter in the webdynpro for java.
    I have the following methods available
    ZBAPI input = new ZBAPI();
    1.ZTable table = new ZTable();
    table.setPernr(pernr);
    table.setname(name);
    input.addZPernr(table);
    how do i set the table parameter for multiple pernr and name

    add all the pernr and name to list and set that list to input in the following way
    input.setZPernr(list) and list of typecom.sap.aii.proxy.framework.core. AbstractList
    out of two methods mentioned which one is correct.
    Please let me know the solution
    Thanks

    Hi Bala,
                In your code:
    List pernrList = new ArrayList();
    pernrList  should be declared as the  type of class HROBJECT   ( The structure name in the model  e.g. the node PERFWARN type is Zhrecmfm_002_Perfrat_Warning_Input )
    Try this:
    HROBJECT  pernrList = new HROBJECT();
    pernrList.setPernr(pernr);
    input.setPernr_List(pernrList);
    // call BAPI execute method
    If you want to pass list of pernrs, you can pass in alternate way
    IPrivate<viewname>.I<nodeame>Node prNode = wdContext.node<node>();
    IPrivate<viewname>.I<nodeame>Element prEle;
    for (int i = 0; i < table.size(); i++) {
    HROBJECT  pernrList = new HROBJECT();
    pernrList.setPernr(pernr); // Set the pernr from current record
    prEle = prNode.create<nodeame>Element(pernrList);
    prNode.addElement(prEle);
    // call BAPI execute method
    Once I execute the BAPI how do i iterate thru second table parameter PERNR_PERFRAT to get pernr and performance rating text
    Say your node name is  PERNR_PERFRAT
    for (int i = 0; i < wdContext.nodePERNR_PERFRAT().size(); i++) {
    wdContext.nodePERNR_PERFRAT().getPERNR_PERFRATElementAt(i).getPernr();
    wdContext.nodePERNR_PERFRAT().getPERNR_PERFRATElementAt(i).getPerfrat();

  • How to set the resource_limit parameter to each user

    how to set the resource_limit initialization parameter to each user.
    it says like this;
    You must modify the RESOURCE_LIMIT initialization parameter. After you assign profiles to users, the Oracle database
    enforces the limits only when the RESOURCE_LIMIT parameter is set to TRUE. Therefore, you modify the RESOURCE_LIMIT initialization parameter to enforce the resource limits defined within each user's profile.
    alter system set resource_limit=true;
    if doing like this is it ok. ????
    Assume im logged as user "SYS". so if i use this command, will it alter the resource_limit parameter for this user SYS only OR for the entire database..... (for all other user)

    The RESOURCE_LIMIT parameter only enables resource limits that are defined in profiles.
    The DEFAULT profile, by default, is UNLIMITED for all resources.
    You should create a custom profile and set the limits you need. The next step would be to assign that profile to the users whom you want to limit. Other users in other profiles (or in the DEFAULT profile) would not have any limits enforced.
    See the documentation on CREATE PROFILE.

  • How to set oracle archive parameter to off

    Hi All,
                can anyone let me know how to set oracle parameter off.And are thier any prerequisites that needs to be taken care.
    Thanks in advance for the help,
    Regards,
    Raj

    Hi,
    >
    >                   Do i need to shut down database as well as sap instance for seeting to noarchive log mode.
    Yes. In order to put database in noarchive log mode, first stop your sap system.
    Then go to oracle->
    login as ora<sid>
    sqlplus "/as sysdba"
    startup mount;
    alter database noarchivelog;
    alter database open;
    Then start SAP and by this way archive log is off;
    You can also verify that whether your databse is in archive log mode or noarchive log mode by below command:
    select log_mode from v$database;
    >Please let me know how i should proceed and that insatnce offline back up was taken in feb so before doing this i need to take >offline backup.so how should i proceed
    Before stopping archive log mode, you must have offline database backup.
    Is there any reason why you want to off archive log as SAP always recommends that because then only you can do point in time recovery if something wrong happen to your database.
    Thanks
    Sunny

  • How to set the Context path to AAA/BBB in Weblogic 5.1?

    Hi folks,
              I want to deploy a web application and set the servlet context as:
              AAA/BBB. Put more simply, my application should be accessible via the
              following:
              http:localhost:7001/AAA/BBB/main.jsp
              where http://localhost:7001/AAA/BBB maps to my document root.
              One work around is to set the context to AAA:
              weblogic.httpd.webApp.AAA=WebAppLocation
              And in the deployment descriptor (web.xml) to register all servlets
              with a BBB/ prepended to the desired alias:
              <servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-name>main</servlet-name>
              <url-pattern>BBB/main.jsp</url-pattern>
              </servlet-mapping>
              But this solution does not work for me. Parts of the application refer
              the context root (AAA) and create URLs relative to that. These URLs
              will not have the BBB part. Searching for it in the code and replacing
              it is not desirable (we do not own the code). Does anyone have any
              suggestions?
              Thanks in advance,
              Musafir

    What you have done for changing the context root to "/" is all fine but it is important to know that there is a ROOT.war in the deploy folder of JBoss which by default gets bound to "/" context. You must be getting the error message like "Web mapping already exists for deployment" when you would be starting your JBoss server after changing your context root to "/". So either you can completely remove the ROOT.war from the deploy folder or change the context-root of ROOT.war by updating its web.xml like:
    <web-app>
    <display-name>Welcome to JBoss</display-name>
    <description>
    Welcome to JBoss
    </description>
    *<context-param>*
    *<param-name>context-root</param-name>*
    *<param-value>/jboss-root</param-value>*
    *</context-param>*
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>Status Servlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>org.jboss.web.tomcat.service.StatusServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    </web-app>
    and also update the jboss-web.xml of ROOT.war:
    <jboss-web>
    <security-domain>java:/jaas/jmx-console</security-domain>
    *<context-root>/jboss-root</context-root>*
    </jboss-web>
    I hope this serves your purpose.
    There can be a workaround also by modifying the index.html of ROOT.war in the deploy folder of your server and redirect request to your web application using meta refresh like:
    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL='/store'">

  • Define a context parameter not using web.xml

    Dears,
    With a web.xml file, it is possible to define a context parameter available in the web app via de ServetContext.getInitParameters method.
    Is it possible to define a context parameter not using the web.xml file ? Can I, in a java Class, init a custom context parameter ? (for exampel, init as a context param a key/value pair read from a property file).
    PS: the need is that the value (hmac key) currently define in the web.xml needs to be updated monthly. Apparently, under WebSphere (the app server we are using) changing the web.xml of the deployed app it not enought for it to be taken into account.

    Is it possible to define a context parameter not

    a custom context parameter ? (for exampel, init as a

    You could define this value in a property file and read it in, in the init method. You should provide a mechanism to reload the new value after 'x' days. One approach is a Timer that does the job, do have a look at SteveJLuke's recommendations on the same in this thread
