How to set-up Guest Client Wireless Access "PIN" with Restricted Access ???

This is my first time, and, I am not familiar with the rules.
Is it possible for someone to answer a slightly different question...
I just bought a TC and hooked it up to my cable modem. I have 3 computers that I want to configure, with the following requirements: WPA/WPA2 security all around, only the 3 computers I have to be allowed use of the TC, and, no listing of the network should appear on remote computers (i.e., a "closed network"). With these basic needs, the three computers I want to be in this network are listed below --- subject to the following ACCESS limitations:
1. A G4 iMAC (10.5.5), wired to the TC via an Ethernet cable: FULL ACCESS; i.e., shared file access, TM back-ups, HP printer access, internet access;
2. A MacBook (10.5.5), airport wireless access to the TC: FULL ACCESS, as the iMAC.
3. A (new generation) PC laptop: VERY LIMITED access --- access only to the internet, so that the TC looks only like a "wireless router." Internet access available at any time of the day or week. It would be good if this client did not have to use any of my passwords, just a "PIN." Also, I do NOT want this PC client to see my printer, and, also, to NOT see my TC base station and NOT have access to my TC/TM disks. To set this up, I entered the PC laptop name and the "MAC" address using the Airport Utility. Then, I selected the "PIN" choice for access, so that this client need not have to ever use or know of any of my passwords. After I selected the "PIN" option, the utility asked me to enter the PC client's PIN. How do I obtain the PC's PIN? This is very confusing to me, so, I apologize to you all (I'm very new at this).
Hopefully, this TC-only network concern is within the guidelines to be answered.
Thanks,
David.

Dear Smokerz,
Well, this is where I'm confused. I did use the Airport Utility. I went to the place where it asks for the PIN number. So, I made up an 8-digit number and entered it. I assumed that after I entered the number, it would prompt me to do something with the PC. But, the "Continue" button did not become highlighted. Hence, my confusion. Can you please be more specific as to exactly what I should do using the Airport Utility? The detailed instructions are vague to me, unfortunately.
Also, with respect to the PC Laptop: I only want it to have access to the internet via the TC (so that the TC acts as a wireless router). And, I want to set up restrictions for limited use of the PC: NO ACCESS to the HP printer, and NO ACCESS to the TM/TC (other than as a wireless router). As before, can you please be more specific as to exactly what I should do using the Airport Utility?
I must be missing a trivial menu item, so, again, I apologize.
Thank you,
David.

    In menu airport of firmware 6.0 there is not window "Add a wireless client". I'm using Mac Os lion with Airport Utility6.0, how can I add a client wireless with this firmware)?

    If you have a dual band AirPort Extreme, you can add another to "extend" both bands of your network to provide more  wireless coverage.
    The "best" way to do this is to connect the "remote" access point back to your main AirPort Extreme using an Ethernet connection. This preserves bandwidth on the network better than any other method...and...you can locate the "remote" Extreme exactly in the area where more coverage is needed. Instructions for thhis are here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4260
    You might be able to connect using wireless only, but this is always "Iffy".
    In general, the Extreme would need to be located approximately half the distance from your main router to the general area that needs more coverage. But, walls, ceilings and other obstructions usually come into play, requiring some experimentation. Instructions are here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4259
    If you elect to try wireless, you really won't know if things will work until you try. Recommend that you have a "Plan B" if wireless does not work for your purpose.

  • I have an airport express and want to know how to set up two different wireless networks. One with 5GHZ and one with 2.4GHZ so different devices can connect to either.

    I have an airport express and want to know how to set up two different wireless networks. One with 5GHZ and one with 2.4GHZ so different devices can connect to either. I have an iphone 4 that will not connect to 5ghz.
    thank you!

    Your AirPort Express is already providing two separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, but each band is using the same wireless network name.
    This is the default setup for the AirPort Express, which is recommended for most users. The theory here is that devices will automatically connect to the best quality signal based on their capabilities and distance in relation to the AirPort Express.
    It is possible to assign a different name to the 5 GHz band, and then "point" devices at that network to connect. Some users swear by this option.....(I am not one of them).... but you might want to give it a try to see how it works for you.
    Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
    Click on the AirPort Express
    Click Edit in the smaller window that appears
    Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next window
    Click Wireless Options near the bottom of the next window
    Enter a check mark next to 5 GHz Name.....which will automatically add "5 GHz" to the network name....so you can identify it
    Click Save, then click Update and wait a full minute for the Express to restart
    Now you will need to "point" your 5 GHz capable devices at the 5 GHz network name.  2.4 GHz devices will connect to your "other" network name.

  • How to set up the client-specific consolidation routes

    Hi!
    I am setting up TMS-functionality in my 2-system landscape (DEV, PRD) and would like to use 2 Clients in the DEV-system (100> Cust and 200> Test).
    <b>How can I set up the tranport routes between the Clients 100 and 200 in the same system DEV?</b>
    I read, the client-specific consolidation route should be applied in this case?!
    (also some parameter settings should be edited, e.g. CTC)
    <b>Can some one give me a detail technical description how to set up the client-specific consolidation routes between Client 100 and 200 in DEV-system?</b>

  • How to set up Guest Network, while Airport Extreme is connected to Satellite Receiver

    How to set up Guest Network, while Airport Extreme is connected to Satellite Receiver?

    Depending on how you have your AirPort Extreme configured to work with the satellite receiver, it may or may not be possible to enable the Guest Network function.
    We will need to check some settings on your Mac or PC, but in order to do that, we need to know what operating system you are using on your computer.
    If you have a Mac, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the computer screen, then click About This Mac. Post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.

    How to set background ChoiceBox item color to ChoiceBox with css?
    I need to change items list backgound color.
    I tried with following code, but it doesnt helps:
    .choice-box .context-menu {
      -fx-backgound-color: red;
    .choice-box .menu-item{
      -fx-background-color: red;

    In Java 8, either of your selectors should work.
    In Java 7 (JavaFX 2.2), you need the following workaround:
    #choice-box-menu-item {
         -fx-background-color: red ;

  • How do I configure Guest network to access ethernet wired printer?

    I have a wired/wireless network with a new dual band AEBS. The AEBS is connected to a Cisco router, which in turn sends it's connections to various wall-plates in our home. One HP 4110 printer is wired via it's ethernet port, one Mac Mini (OS 10.6.2) is hard wired also. The dual band AEBS 5 GHz network is used for our newer laptops, and the 2.4 GHz network is used for a G3 Firewire PowerBook (now don't make fun... it was the best there was at one time) running OS 10.4.11.
    The PowerBook cannot access the printer that is hard wired via ethernet cable to the network. How do I get the PowerBook on the "Guest" network to access the printer?
    I tried searching these discussions, but can't find an answer to my specific issue. Any help is appreciated.

    Since you have a simultaneous dual-band AEBS, why not connect your PowerBook G3 to the non-Guest 2.4 GHz network created?
    Can I take an AEBS that is a couple of years older (I have a couple of the flying saucers around here somewhere), wire that to an available ethernet port on the LAN, and then connect the older PowerBook G3 to that older AEBS wirelessly?
    Sure
    If so, will that arrangement slow down the entire system?
    No
    If that won't work, and I connect the PowerBook G3 directly to an ethernet port, will that slow down the other wireless computers?
    Yes you can connect your PowerBook G3 via Ethernet. That would have no effect on the wireless computers.

    I still cannot figure out how to set up a guest password on my wireless network.  I'm trying to use 192.168.1.1 but dont see an obvious place to set the information.  And do I have to connect to router to the laptop before making the changes?

    Well what model number router do you have?  If it is a E series you must load and run the Cisco Connect software to configure the Guest Network.

  • How to setup the guest network just access internet only (not touch in internal server)

    I had setup the AirPort Extreme in basic and guest network, but observed the guest can access to our server currently, for the security issue, we can setup the guest network to access internet only? pleae advice and thanks

    By default, a properly configured Guest network on the AirPort Extreme only allows network clients to access the Internet. No access to the "main" network's resources should be available.
    This is assuming that the AirPort Extreme is the only or "main" router in your current network configuration.

  • How to set proxy for client-server socket connection?

    Hi,
    I'm using the code found on the following page to create a client (mobile) to server (pc) connection and send a text message.
    http://javafaq.nu/java-example-code-503.html
    This works with mobile operators without proxy, but does nothing when the operator uses a proxy. The question is, exactly how to set the proxy and port values for using that code.
    Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks,

    It's part of the cellular settings, and is usually set up by your 3G provider. You can't choose your own proxy server

  • How to Setup WRITTEN as a wireless access point to work with WRITTEN

    Hi,
    I had a router WRITTEN which was not covering the whole space in my house. I was looking for a N wireless access point or a range extender.
    The shop seller convinced me to buy WRITTEN saying that the Dual N will fix my problem.
    well it did not. The reception in some locations is still poor.
    the same reseller advised me to use the 350N as a wireless access point instead of buying one. The question is how to do it.
    I am thinking about the following:
    1- Have the WRITTEN installed next to the internet modem connect to the modem by cable
    2- in another room have the WRITTEN (approx 20 meters away) not connected by a cable to the WRITTEN
    3- When using the laptop in the weak reception area, I try to connect wirelessly to WRITTEN which should be also connected wirelessly to the WRITTEN
    Would that be possible. I hope so since there is no way to have a cable connecting the 350N and 610N due to many reasons
    appreciate your help in adance

    From your query I understand that you are trying to configure some form of authentication for Wireless clients accessing the wireless bridge. Read the following document which explains how to configure the AP/Bridge as a local radius server to authentication clients.
