How to setup a custom background in network shared folder Server 2012

We have a Server 2012 acting as Domain server, and also has a shared folder. The client computers are Windows 8.1. Now I need to set up a picture as the background of the shared folder, and I want all client computers to see that picture when open it. How
can I do that?
I tried this solution but did not work:
Create a desktop.ini fine inside that folder and put following contents,
[AveFolder]
IconArea_Image="C:\images\folder1.jpg"
Once it is done reboot the machine. This folder will be visible with the sepcified image,

As you said it will not work since Windows Vista. I've seen some third party appliations could help change the background of a shared folder.

If its a shared folder on windows drive with access permission to all, you might get your work done using simple GUI_UPLOAD.
Have you checked this. Just a thought.

_ The foundation service "write" seems to be useful just to write document in the livecycle server; how can I reach shared folder on another pc ?

We used the WRITE FileUtilsService with this input :
Pathname Pattern (template)
{$/process_data/@remotePath$}{$/process_data/@pdfName$}.pdf
Document (variable)
Pdfdocument (a document object containing the pdf to write)
with this setup you can write to a shared folder in the server running
workbench, you can't reach external resources so no problem relative to security
and user.
then we use a java class running on the server to move the pdf from the local
folder to the final location.

Use GUI_DOWNLOAD to download data in a file on the presentation server or use OPEN DATASET, TRANSFER and CLOSE DATASET statements to download data to the application server.
Now, I hope the code for data fetching, if required, is already present in the report.

Trying to install a setup on a 64 bit machine with Windows server 2012 R2 which writes to registry FAILES

My msi is a 32 bit setup.
When I install it on a 32 bit machine with Windows XP it works fine .
I tried to install it on a 64 bit machine with windows server 2008 and it succeeds
While running my setup on a 64 bit machine with Windows server 2012 R2 it failes and I get the folloawing message:
"Registry object reference not set to an instance of an object"
Then the setup exits and leaves the app partially installed
I tried searching for known problems over the net, but found nothing
I will be happy to get some advice

Sounds like you are trying to update a registry object that is not there.
Is this your own msi, or is it from a third party application? If third party, check with them to see if they support it on 2012 or if they have a known workaround.
If it is your own msi, sounds like it is time to debug it.

Playing a FLV-File in a projector.exe from a network shared folder failes

We want to load and play FLV-Files while our project files
(Projector.exe) and FLV-files are sitting on a network shared
folder with UNC-Path access (\\FILESERVER\sharename\). The problem
is, that the flv-files do not play. If the same application runs on
a local system it works fine. The System.security.sandboxType is
"localTrusted" because it runs in a projector.
We do not want to map the shared folder to a drive letter!

I have recently setup a Windows Server 2012 Std. I have not configured any roles yet. The server licence has been installed and activated successfully. How do I get my Windows Server CAL 2012 ( tracking ID is 15 digits) onto the server. I have google
but did not get the correct result. The closest I found was

I am not too familiar with the Server 2012 display so I am not certain if I am missing something. If the CALs are not captured on the server, will this restrict user access to the 2012 server?

Network QoS and Server 2012 R2

We are designing our new cluster environment on HP Blades with 6 Ethernet and 2 HBA connections:
Ethernet = 2 x on board and
4 x quad port
HBA = 1 x Dual port
I have been advised that we will be configuring Live Migration on the Management network along with the Cluster Heartbeat. The Cluster Heart beat and management will
be protected by using QoS.
QoS will be set using GPO on the OU that contains the Hyper V Hosts.
The GPO will be provide a route for live migrations between nodes and will ensure that the Cluster Heartbeat and MGMT services are not compromised
I have no experience of using GPO for QoS in Server 2012. Can any one provide any incite or if there is a better way to deliver the QoS on the management network that will have the Heart beat and live migration services.

Based on my research, we can configure the Quality of Service in the Group Policy Management which applies to computers or users, you can find this group policy under:
Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Policy-based QoS or
User Configuration\Windows Settings\Policy-based QoS.
During the configuration process, you can specify an application by typing its executable name in the
Application Name page, or you can also select All Applications.
