How to share a GB file between different computers (using dropbox).

Me and a friend are trying to share Garageband '09 files using a shared folder with dropbox. He saves a .band file and then saves it to the shared folder. After it loads on my side I open it, but it is empty. Does GB even have this capability? Can it save a file with no dependencies? I do not want to export to mp3 or other format. I am trying to share the actual GB file. I don't want to zip or archive at all. We have the space and the forum for sharing, I just need to know how to save it properly in GB, if GB even has this capability. If not, does Logic Express?

You should be able to save the file with no (external) dependencies and share the actual GB file. The .band file is actually a collection of components.
Why not Save As Archive and Zip it? It might travel better when zipped. It can be unzipped and reconstituted upon receipt.

  • I just received an OEM copy of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 with my Canon Pixma Pro 100 Printer.  What exactly is OEM.  Is it a full version?  Can I transfer files between different computers?

    @

OEM means "Original Equipment Manufacturer", or in your case, Canon (not Adobe) is providing the software. It is identical to what you can buy from Adobe. It is the full version (that's the only version of Lightroom that exists)
Transfer files between different computers ... this is not a function of Lightroom. Lightroom neither helps nor prevents you from transferring files from one computer to another.

  • How do i share files between two computers using the ethernet?

i have bought a cord that is ethernet to ethernet. i do not understand how or where to go after the two computers are seemingly connected. i have a bunch of photos on iphoto id like to transfer. thank you.

Out of curiosity do you already have a home network? If so do both computers connect to the network? In this case just use File Sharing which is enabled in the Sharing preferences.

If the computers are in different locations, use a flash drive.  If they are in the same household on the same network, you can use iTunes Home Sharing.

  • Please help me share my decentralized files between 2 computers!

    Hi all,
So this is kind of complicated. Here's the setup:
    MacBook
    PowerBook
External hard drive connected to & shared via Airport
The MacBook has all my music and pictures on it. The external drive has all the videos, as well as backups of all the music and pictures from the MacBook. All content is DRM-free. The PowerBook has no content on it.
On the MacBook, I have very carefully organized libraries for all the music, videos, and pictures. All these files are stored, as originals or backups, on the external drive, so it's easy enough to see them on the PowerBook even when the MacBook isn't networked. However, I'd also like to have access to the organization of the MacBook libraries when I'm on the PowerBook. I obviously can't just copy the iTunes/iPhoto libraries from the MacBook to the PowerBook, since the MacBook library points to MacBook/Users/user/Music, and the PowerBook would need to access External/Backup/user/Music. The same would be true for the iPhoto library.
Is there any way to accomplish what I'm trying to do here?
Thanks for any and all advice!

Thank you for the iFelix link. Unfortunately, the instructions did not work. The break down happens in the step where I am asked by the Printer Utility to input the user name and password for the PC printer. Since the instructions say that the user name and password are supposed to be the same as the Windows XP log in, I assume the same holds for Vista, so I input the user name and password for the Vista computer. Then, the printer is supposed to show up in the Printer Utility window, but it doesn't. Nothing does, even though the drop-down box says "Mark-PC" (the name of the Vista machine). Any other suggestions will be much appreciated.

  • How do I share photos and music between different user accounts on the same macbook

How do I share photos and music between different user accounts on the same Macbook? i.e. I want all to be able to access family photos when logged into their respective accounts. Same goes for the iTunes library. Hope this is possible...
    Thanks!

To give other users read-only access to your iTunes library, use the Sharing features of iTunes. Sharing works over the local network as well as on the same computer. See the built-in help for details.
To give others selective access to your iPhoto library, you have the option of using iCloud Photo Sharing, if the privacy implications don't bother you. The images will be stored temporarily on Apple servers.
If you want to give full read/write access to more than one user, see the support articles linked below.

How do I share music in iTunes between different iTunes account on the MacBook Pro?

If it's in a single iTunes library, it's already being shared. If it's in separate user accounts on the computer, move one library to the /Users/Shared/ folder, launch iTunes with the Option key held down, point it there, and import the music from the other library to it.

Put the file in a folder that both users have access to, such as /Users/Shared or one user's Public folder. You may also need to change its permission settings in the Finder Info window.

  • How do I sync iPhoto Library between 2 computers?

Forgive me if this has been asked and answered already. I have an iMac and a MacBook Air and want to sync the iPhoto library between the two. I have upgraded both the desktop and laptop to OSX 10.9 and iPhoto '11 (9.5).
I always had an iPhoto Library file (in Pictures under Finder) on EACH computer. The two did not sync, so if I added photos to one instance of the Library in a particular computer. I had to copy the Library and then paste it into the the other computer. I'm pretty sure I'm missing a fairly easy means of overcoming this, but I don't know what it is.
I had hoped the new version of iPhoto, with its closer link to iCloud would obviate this, but it only synchronises items in Photo Stream, not the entire iPhoto library. Any ideas on how I can improve this process. I do use Dropbox for all other files, and of course the iMac and MacBook Air are on the same home network.
Would I be better off putting the iPhoto Library on an external drive and then "point" both computers to that single instance of the library? If so I don't begin to know how to do it.
    Thank you so much

What do you mean by "Sync".
The general term means when two Libraries (A and B) are compared and files in Library A are copied to Library B, while files in Library B are also copied to Library A so that both Libraries are identical.
This is bi-directional copying and you cannot do this automatically with iPhoto. No Syncing software is capable of parsing the iPhoto Library in this manner. One or both of your Libraries will be damaged if you try this.
You can have uni-directional copying - files in Library A are copied to Library B - this is essentially backing up. Obviously you can also copy from Library B to Library A.
The nearest you can get to syncing is to use iPhoto Library Manager  to move files/Albums/Events plus associated metadata between Libraries. This process cannot be automated.
Putting the Library on an external is easy:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • Multiple files in different directory using single FILE adaptor

    Hi Guys,
How can we handle multiple files having different format(PDF,TXT,EXCEL) and in different directory with the single FILE adaptor.
I know by using "." we ca get mutilple files, but here tthe files are of different format and in different directory.
Could you please explain as to how we can handle this scenarios?
    Thanks
    Sahil

    Hi,
The short answer is - "No".
The Long Question - "Why do you want to use a SINGLE channel".
If your idea is to reuse the interface then dont worry... Except for the Senderchannel and Sender agreement all your other objects can be reused ...provided your sender apter converts the different files into the same XML format..
For TXT you can use the simple file adpater..
For excel see if you can use save the file as .CSV format...then you can use it directlky by the simple FIle adapter..
For PDF use conversion agent... Here a blog to get u started on that ->

  • Cut vedio file into different frames using java

    Hi friends,
I would like o know how we can cut the vedio file into different formate using JMF.
Given an input media file, the object is to cut pieces from the file and generate an output file from that.
i want to cut vedio from X time to Y time.
If any one is work on this please help.

Why "split" the file? Just write a packet with a DataOutputStream(GZipOutputStream()), send it, and then read it back with a DataInputStream(GZipInputStream()) ...
    1. The GZip*Streams take care of compression.
    2. The Data*Streams take of byte order and so on.
    3. Your DatagramPacket handles the transport.
The hardest part is figuring out what buffer size works best for your network... there is no "right" answer to that.

  • How to load a client file in a clob using sqlcl

How to load a client file in a clob using sqlcl

You don't "load" jars. If it's on the classpath, you can obtain individual resources from it using various methods on either Class or ClassLoader. Do you mean "how to add a jar to the classpath at runtime"? Can't be done without using a classloader, typically URLClassLoader or a subclass thereof. Why you want to not use the proven method is beyond me. Presumably because you don't understand classloading. In which case, forget it.

is it possible to share an aperture library with different users using osx server.

Not really.  You should not be sharing an Aperture library over a network.  It's not designed for that and you'll likely corrupt your library at some point.

Can i share an iPhoto library between 2 computers, it I store my library on a AS drive connected to an AirPort Extrême Base Station ?

    on a AS drive
Do you mean NAS drive? No.
iPhoto needs to have the Library sitting on disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Users with the Library sitting on disks otherwise formatted regularly report issues including, but not limited to, importing, saving edits and sharing the photos.
Will it be wireless? That's good for viewing but...
A strong warning: If you're trying to edit the Library (that is, make albums, move photos around, keyword, make books or slideshows etc.) or edit individual photos in it via Wireless be very careful. Dropouts are a common fact of wireless networking, and should one occur while the app is writing to the database then your Library will be damaged. Simply, I would not do this with my Libraries.
