How to show a long with database datablock in a small width frame using horizontal scrollbar in oracle forms

Hello Experts,
I am new in oracle forms and I am using Oracle forms 11.1.2.2.0 with weblogic 10.3.6 generic at windows 7 64 bit.
My java version is jdk1.7.0_51.
I have a database table say as ITEM_MASTER.This table has 20 columns.Now I have to show these 20 columns in oracle form in a single frame.I have used the wizard method to make database block in oracle forms but This datablock takes too much width.
I wand to show all the columns with in a short width frame in oracle forms using horizontal scroll bar.But I am unable to do this.Please suggest me.

I don't think you're going to be able to. Usually Approval Status is used in conjunction with Major/Minor versioning and while Approval Status is pending the item is usually a draft.
As a result the search crawler should not be able to see the draft items as it would not have the necessary rights to do so. (Good practice ensures that the Search Crawler has only read access and is not an elevated account for this reason)

while working on database level with collections and records it's working very well for me, but when I try to use that technique on oracle forms it hits me error

For information, you can use and populate a collection within the Forms application without using the BULK COLLECT

       this is very useful for my logic on which I am working

How to make JTable use horizontal scrollbar

My application uses a table to which data is added dynamically(both columns and rows). My problem is that when number of columns increase i want JTable to use horizontal scrollbar instead of resizing columns(which i achieve by setting resize mode to OFF state), But due to this if number of columns are less then there's alot of empty space left after showing columns(coz JTable cannot resize cols to fit Viewport area). To achieve both criteria i used following solution
1. Set Auto resizing to OFF.
2. Check if width of table is less than viewport width and if so then set auto
auto resizing ON :) which will fit columns in viewport thereby occupying empty space.
But this solution doesn't seem to be straight and simple to me. Is anyone aware of a simple solution to this problem.

with your problem statement it seems you should use javax.swing.JScrollPane like the one below

How to integrate UWL funciton with database information.

I am using web dynpro and GP to implement a workflow system (for example order process system). I need to implement a function to display on going order status of current processor. Database records around 10 order that were handled by current processor but maybe in different process stage. I can use Email and provide link for user to connect to the informed task. But I can't find any example to teach me how the use web dynpro to implement the function to allow user link to on going task by our GUI. The UWL seems provide the function to link on going
task, but UWL seems good for system maintenance. For our user the database information seems more friendly for they using system. Is there any API or example can help me to implement this function.

How to Synchronize an association with Database Changes

I was wondering if someone has any ideas about how to manage FK changes with the BC associations. In general my questions center around tooling support for re-factoring associations and syncing them with db changes. I have read the following but all these discuss entity attribute related changes which are simple to manage.

I have 4 use cases.
Case 1: When an association is added to the db, how does one bring it to the BC layer.
Case 2: Deletion of an association from db is easy to manage because once it exists in bc layer, it can be treated as a valid one at the model later regardless of its existence on the db.
Case 3: When an association is modeled in BC layer and a corresponding FK does not exist in DB. How does one turn that association into a physical FK in the db if one wants to install a FK. What is the naming convention for installing such a db FK constraint that can sync easily with tooling. I understand that it is not necessary to have a physical FK as the BC layer will take care of enforcing the relationship. But my requirement is that first the modeling at bc layer can go on and then the constraint can be implemented at a later date.
Case 4: When a FK is renamed in db how does one reconcile that with a previously created association at the model layer based on an old fk with a different name.

The synchronize with DB will pick up new FK defined in the DB and will suggest to add them to your ADF BC layer.
You can also generate DB objects from your ADF BC layer.
Drag your ADF BC into an ADF BC diagram, select all of them, right click and select Generate Business Object->Database Objects
This will create the objects in the DB - note though that this will override your DB objects.

How to show timestamp along with date in LOV dropdown

We have a requirement to show timestamp along with date as a display column in a LOV drop down. Type of the date column in VVO is set to timestamp. But still it is showing only date in the UI.
But it is showing timestamp when we run it through AM. Is there any thing in to do in addition to display it in UI? Or it is not feasible? Please suggest me on this issue.

The date format displayed in UI depends on applcore preference set for current user, try changing date format set for current user to include time along with date.

How to recreate enterprise manager with database vault

I'm testing the Oracle database Vault option at database version 11.1.0.7 but there are some thing that does not work correct in the test. One of them is that I do not be able to recreate the enterprise manager repository. After probe several ways with database option enabled I decided to disable it. With the database vault option disabled I recreated the emanager ok but after enabled the database vault option again the database vault administrator does not browse for me:

in order to find out the user exits for any tcode,
1. get the developement class of the tcode from SE93.
2. Now goto transaction SMOD and press F4,
3. give in the Deve class in the dev class and Press ENTER
this will show u the exits for any tcode.

You copy the corresponding JAR file that contains the Java BEan in your <DEVSUITE_HOME>/forms/java folder, then you add its name to the archive tags of the forsweb.cfg file.
This done, you add a Bean Area to your canvas, set its Implementation Class property with the full class name, then you can communicate with the bean via the GET_CUSTOM_PROPERTY() and SET_CUSTOM_PROPERTY() built-in.

Now I have a htmlbutton.jar (which is for bean item in oracle form and this jar file works well for oracle forms 11g 32 bit windows 7 environment).
I have takken steps:
1:-Put jar file in home\java folder.
2:-add this jar file into archive in formsweb.cfg.
3:-Add this this jar file(which is in my home- java folder) in form_class path in registry.
Now when I try to locate this jar file in my oracle form.There is no such jar file.what are the steps to use this jar file in oracle forms bean item.
Please told me what is wrong here.

It is unclear where you are having a problem. Is your issue at runtime (when the form runs in the browser) or when working in the Builder on the form?
Also be aware that you will need to sign your jar and include some new manifest entries. Refer to the Java 7u51 documentation and blogs that discuss the changes.
