How to speed up PDF batch processing when creating searchable image PDF's?

When using the batch processing tool in adobe to create multiple searchable image files into PDF, the process is considerably slower compared to scanning straight from the adobe window and importing scan back into adobe. Is there a way to get around this?

Adobe desktop programs are generally not officially supported on server operating systems. Whatever issues you have are probably due to things like local users vs. network users, disk quota, specific group policies or plain and simple another process occupying or blocking the same port that the QT server is using. In any case, this is nothing we can figure out for you. You have to sit down and work your way through the server's administration tools, turn off stuff, change user permissions. Check the event logs for conflicting processes or use tools like Sysinternals' Process Monitor or Wireshark to track down port collisions and otehr problems.

My company upgraded from Adobe Acrobat 7 to Acrobat 9 recently. Now, whenever I run a batch sequence on one 2003 Word file, it takes over 20 minutes - that's one Word doc. Before with version 7, it took only a few minutes.
My Batch Sequence has only one command - the Open Options command.
Question
What can I do to speed up this Batch Processing sequence?
FYI
My Word doc contains no graphic - merely text with a TOC and Index.

My system has 3.50 GB of RAM

I have advanced tagging turned off.
I'm only using these two Word options:
Convert cross-ref and table of contents to links.
Convert footnote and endnote links.

How do I stop the login process when I open iTunes? It often request I login sometimes twice.

I amhaving the same issue of having to log into my apple account wheever I open I-Tunes. In my iTunes sharing my password requirment is unchecked and in filevault it is unchecked also. I have just upgraded to the newest version of iTunes and I still get the pop-up window asking me to login.
Any other thoughts?

You need to create an empty flat file in the Openbatch folder (assuming you are using the single period load). the format for the file name is in the admin guide. I generally add this to the batch script before the batch process section.

this configuration is only supported on a midtier - there is a work around for a standalone install, nevertheless I would not recommend this for production ..

There are a number of things which are unclear about your question.
I'll tell you one way to approach this though.

I don't know enough about what you mean by LastImageClicked but you need some way of knowing which path you are going to delete.
Then you might well have a problem if it's showing in an image control.
You will need to copy the picture off disk into a new bitmapimage object.
If you just do
<Image Source="p001.jpg"
Then that image will grab the file and you won't be able to delete it - you'll get an error.
In my experimental code p001.jpg is set as content copy always so it ends up next to the exe in the bin when the solution compiles.
You would probably want a full path to a file there.

Records aren't updated in batch processing when an error occurs

We are facing a problem using batch processing with oracle. Our app is implemented without any framework (Struts, Hibernate, Spring, etc), using basic statements and the "auto commit" option is turned off.
When there's no errors into statements, everything goes fine! But, when one of commands doesn't execute succesfully, we can't commit others statements. Although specs say all of the previous statements should be committed when we explicit commit the transaction.
Does anyone have any idea about the source of this problem?

Well, last time I checked, this was NOT a database forum, it's a "SQL and PL/SQL" forum, isn't it? Yes, SQL and PL/SQL run on the database, but they also run at the application level as well when you're working with Oracle Forms and Reports, which both have a built in PL/SQL engine.
And yes, I AM using RUN_PRODUCT...*before* I use the win_api_session call. I run the report, and THEN attempt to open the finished report once it has been written to file. But I can't do that if the report is still being generated, right? My RUN_PRODUCT call passes a parameter to tell it to close the Reports Background Engine once the report has been generated. So, what I do is test (using win_api_session) to see if the Reports Background Engine is open or not. WHILE (my loop here...see my last post) it's open, I loop, so that when it is no longer open, I know that my report has been generated, and I can make the call to attempt to open the report from file.
Again, what I need to do, is figure out how I can put some sort of error handling inside my loop to handle situations where there may be some sort of error in generating the report, and the Reports Background Engine doesn't get closed, which would leave me stuck in the loop.

How to delete silence in batch process using Audition CS6

I've started using Audition CS6 recently.
I'm able to delete silence at the beginning and end of the source audio files using delete silence effect (from diagnostics window).
I'm not able to record this as new favorite so that I can apply it in the batch process.
How can I delete silence at the beginning and end of the source audio files (1000 or more files) using batch process?
It will be of great help if I can get guidance on this, instead of manually editing these files.

yes, the favorite is not aware of the diagnostic panel (and delete silence action).
and the silence at the beginning and end varies between the files, is there any way to deal with?
it doesn't look productive to scan for the silence and delete the silences manually for each individual file (for more than 1000 files).
can we create a macro or use some scripting in audition to deal with this in a batch process?
Or is there any other tool that's recommended to have this part done in a reliable manner?

I'm trying to load raster data from an image file and it may contain different bit depths. I'm loading this data into a BufferedImage using the constructor
BufferedImage(ColorModel cm, WritableRaster raster, boolean isRasterPremultiplied, Hashtable<?,?> properties)
I'm trying to figure out how to specify the exact way the pixels are stored, but I'm having a really hard time. It seems that I would want to put this information in the ColorModel, but I can't find anything to specify that. The WritableRaster is another place I looked, but when I create that, it also doesn't ask for (or I don't know how to provide) the specific color info. I have a file that stores it's pixel data in 16 bits, but the colors are separated out by Red (5bits) Green(6bits) Blue(5bits). I have the hex color masks for the color, but I don't know how to use them without first creating a BufferedImage, then using a PixelGrabber or other such process for editing the pixels after the fact. I'd like to be able to specify the the info when I create the image. Can anybody help me?

This larger width, 256, is the scanlineStride. Chances are, if you don't know about a specific scanlineStride, it's going to be the same as the width.
Edit: All this being said, I can't remember the last time I needed to directly create or manipulate a SampleModel. Are you sure you need to go this low level? Perhaps you need to step back and describe the big picture. There may be another approach that's much easier to do what ever it is you are trying to do.

You don't need inches for video (or screen viewing in general). It all goes by pixel count. Inches is for print, nothing else.
But to answer the question, you can run actions in the Image Processor, and this is where you set size in inches. Just bring up Image Size, uncheck "resample image", and specify size. You'll notice resolution changes to reflect the fact that the existing image pixels are now redistributed over the new print size.
But again, screen doesn't care about size or resolution. It only counts pixels.

I am creating a web journal in Aperture 3.5.1. There is a not very functional way to create text boxes and add text interspersed with images.
I can open the font window, but highlighting text and formatting it in the font window has no effect.
In addition, the size of the font actually changes from paragraph to paragraph for no apparent reason.
How do I format text when creating a web journal?
After I have created the web site, I can open the html file and edit the source code, but this is very tedious.

Batch Process for creating button sets in Fireworks - help
