How to start for reorg datas ?

Hi members,
I have a few questions about an 9i Oracle database for using with IBM WebSphere Commerce.
DB is not very big ... only 1,3 Gb.
Production release : 9.2.0.7
Every night at 2:00am I have a task for analyzing statistics on all tables (3 schemas) but
I don't have tasks for reorganize datas.
How can I verify that reorg datas is very needed ?
Is there SQL Statement to identify it and which columns or values are important ?
When we talk about reorg ... does it concern tables only or does it concern tables and indexes ?
Do you have resources for reorg datas with no risk ? (tutorial, technical note)
Sorry for my questions but I was in a Oracle DBAI et DBAII Training and I never saw how to reorg datas.

Firstly, I feel that analysing all data every day is probably an overkill. Well, if your data is updated drastically every day then its required.
I am not familier with Websphere, Is there a special activity called as data re-organisation? or you are talking about normal re-organisation of data?
If we are talking about just reorganising data, to get rid of fragmentation, alter table .... move will do the job. This will invalidate the indexes, but there are clauses which will rebuild the indexes.
Again, this is a big excercise and should be done only when there is a substential reason to do so.

How to start for Framework ??

Hi OAFramework Gurus,
I am a new to OA Framework but I need to create a form in OA Framework. This form should display data for a particular country from which user belongs and also it display the records in a table form e.g all records for that country should come on the form. Also there should be a radio button or Check box which user can select and he/she press a button to perform an action for the selected records.
Could you please let me know that how can I start for this form?

Core Java is prerequsites for OAF. It would be better if you are familier with basic J2EE concepts.
I suggest you to start with OA framework is Toolbox tutorials..
This tutorial is available with jdev itself and you can find it in jdevdoc folder.
There are 7 exercises available in the tutorials to learn basics of OA framework.
Also try other 5 supplemental lessons for advanced OAF programming.
And refer OAF dev guide for more details.

Simple Question: How to search for a date value in SELECT

Probabily a simple question, but in a SELECT statement, how do you do a search for a date value in the WHERE clause?
example:
Select * From Example
Where date = 01/01/2001
I know its not as simple as that, but what change has to occur to make it do what that example implies?

If you want to avoid the conversion part(to_date) you will need to specify the date in the format as ur nls date format.so the same query might not work if you change ur nls date format.
so it is advisable to give it in general format.
ie where date_col=to_date(01-01-2000,'dd-mm-yyyy')

I have around 5 years of Java and a couple of years of .Net experience . I want to enter into SAP world , i have no idea about anything in SAP . but i heard, to learn Netweaver one should have good exp in Java/.Net.

How to validate for proper date format

Hi Experts,
I am using following Fm to calculate date difference.....
call function 'FIMA_DAYS_AND_MONTHS_AND_YEARS'
      exporting
        i_date_from = wa_draw-zdm_vld_to_dat
        i_date_to   = sy-datum
      importing
        e_days      = v_days.
    if sy-subrc = 0 .
      if v_days > 0.
But value of field zdm_vld_to_dat (data type DATS , YYYYMMDD)   in database tables itself is wrong   ...like ct/-0/29-o
I want to avoid passing these wrong data entry, in the FM...as also i give info message for this in spool.
So can anybody tel me How can I detect or know this fields zdm_vld_to_dat conatins wrong date other than YYYYMMDD...e.g.
ct/-0/29-o   means any charecter or hyphen

date2 type sy-datum.
days = date2 - date1.
Write / days.
                      > (OR)
2. write this condition in PAI module of your screen.
At selection-screen.
if date1 cn '1234567890'. or date2 cn '123456789'.
write e000(Sabapdocu) with 'Enter YYYYMMDD Formate'.
endif.

Try to use SEARCH command with the pattern, making the pattern as fine as it can, like if you have your date in the format 02/23/2007, you can give
SEARCH STRING FOR ' //'. (assuming the date has at least a single blank before it)
WRITE: SY-SUBRC UNDER 'SY-SUBRC',
SY-FDPOS UNDER 'SY-FDPOS'.
SY-FDPOS is set to offset of the string from which you can get the date value

How to wait for a date field to be not empty in Designer workflow

I am working on a workflow and need to pause the workflow to wait until a date field has been completed. I am aware of setting dates to a workflow variable of type string to check for null, but there is no way in the Designer workflow to wait until a workflow variable is not empty.
Does anyone know of a workaround to this?

I agree with Andrej about using a Textfield as a alternative.
But, I think you can try to add a new task (set the date value) into your workflow before other tasks.

Actually this will decrease the time of transaction data loading .So it improves the loading performance , not reporting performance.

2LIS_11_VAITM and 2LIS_11_VASCL are the DS for Transaction data , not for master data.To load the master data, first of all find out the master bearing characterstics in the data target.And then search for teh DS of master data in R/3 with tcode RSA6 .You will use characterstic(info object) as the search option here.
For example 0materail is the Master characterstic.
And you can see the DS for this Characterstic in RSA6(if it is not there, you have activate it from RSA5)

Timeline Start and Finish Dates - how to not display finish dates for tasks not added to timeline

I have a project, Project 1, with start date 1 Jan 2014 and finish date 31 Dec 2014. When I switch to timeline view, the timeline spans this period. I now want to create a second view for a sub project within Project 1, called Project 1A. It
starts 1 June 2014 and finishes 31 August. I only want to see Project 1A's tasks and time span on this second custom timeline view. I create the new view, add the tasks from Project 1A to the timeline, and save the view as CustomView1A. My problem: CustomView1A
shows the tasks for Project 1A, but also shows the dead space between 1 Jan 2014 and 1 June 2014, as well as the dead space between 31 August and 31 December.
I dont want to see the dead space. I want CustomView 1A's timeline to start and finish on Project 1A's start and finish dates.
How do I adjust CustomView 1A's timeline borders on the left and right to exclude the dead space?

I checked in CO41 and it allows me to convert planned order to production order and not have any provision to re-scheduling the planned order . Any function to reschedule planned order to future dates ( whose start dates and finish dates are in past ) ?
