DBA database privilege is different from EM Administrator privilege. Check to ensure you have the right one.

    Show us the output of
emctl status dbconsoleMost of the times, EM stops with DGCP being enabled on the system after the db's creation. I faced alot of it just 2 days ago when 2 of my boxes stopped EM. So show us the output of the above command and to have an idea of basic EM troubleshooting, read this,

    failed.
The only way I can stop the EM Console (and related services--i.e., emagent) is to kill its process.
Everything (Listener, DB Instance, EM Console) starts fine. I can stop the Listener and DB Instance without any problems. It's just the EM Console shutdown that doesn't happen cleanly.

  • Create a recovery catalog by using the Enterprise Manager Console

    Dear Sirs:
I am using the Oracle9i database release 2. After installing the management server and running the Enterprise Manager Configuration Assistant, there was no recovery catalog and no CATTBS tablespace created. According to the Help and to your documentation entitled “Oracle Enterprise Manager Configuratrion Guide” this recovery catalog and CATTBS tablespace should be created automatically.
Of course I am not running any target database on the same machine.
How can I create a recovery catalog by using the Enterprise Manager Console, and not by using the rman command prompt?
Please its urgent and I need an answer as soon as possible.
Thank you in advance with best regards

    Dear Sir:
Thank you very much for your reply, but unfortunately it didn’t help me. This article is repeating what is mentioned in the Help and the documents that I downloaded earlier. As I said earlier I know how to setup the recovery catalog by using the rman command prompt, but I couldn’t do it by using the Oracle Enterprise Manager Console. By using the wizards it is supposed to be created automatically but nothing of this happened.
    Please I need help urgently.

  • Job option in the Enterprise Manager Console

    Hello,
I had just installed an 9.2.0.1 oracle db. In my Enterprise Manager Console, i don't see the job and event option like the documentation shows it. Can anybody tells me how to have these options in my Console ?
    Thank's in advance

Log into the OEM Console as the SYSMAN account. Click the "Manage Administrators" selection from the "Configuration" Menu. Select your ID and click the "Edit" button. Click the "Access to Job System" and "Access to Event System" check boxes, and click OK.
Refresh the OEM session under your ID and you should see the "Events" and "Jobs" branches of the Navigator tree.

  • Starting Oracle Enterprise Management Console

I have oracle11gR2 database instance up and running on RHEL and i am able to connect to this instance using sqldeveloper. I need to have access to enterprise manager console too.
I tried to start enterprise manager using following command
    [ora112@localhost ~]$ emctl start dbconsole
Environment variable ORACLE_UNQNAME not defined. Please set ORACLE_UNQNAME to database unique name.
then it tells me that ORACLE_UNQNAME is not defined.
the i set ORACLE_UNQNAME=JIP (JIP=ORACLE_SID), even after doing this , i get the same message when i try to start enterprise manager console.
could anybody help me resolve this issue
thanks in advance for any help

Unset ORACLE_SID (i.e. only set ORACLE_UNQNAME instead of ORACLE_SID), then try again. Pl also post the output of command "env | sort" just before issuing the emctl command

  • Where is the Enterprise Manager Console going to in 10?

All , where can i find out the EM in 10g? I've installed the Enterprise version ? The EM would be removed in new 10g? or is there another tool replaced it ? thanks..

Do you want to create Oracle Enterprise Manager
manually? I don't believe that's possible-- you need
    to install OEM.
Are you asking how to create a database manually,
    rather than through the DBCA?
    Justin
    Distributed Database Consulting, Inc.
    http://www.ddbcinc.com/askDDBC
I have created database through DBCA, but in the end I choice "Generate Database Creation Scripts" but no "Create Database". Later I have run script, but OEM no created. My OS - w2k. After completion scripts I not detected Windows service "OracleDBConsoleSID". Why? In DBCA I checked "Configure the database with Enterprise Manager".
    Sorry for bad English.

  • How to start Oracle Enterprise manager

    Hi,
I installed the Oracle 10g, but I cann't start OEM. How to start OEM?

I have similar problems. I have removed and installed Oracle twice to see if that would help. Every time I am able to actually start OEM, but when I reboot the PC it stops functioning. The two first times OEM was to be found at http://PJMOBILE:5500/em/ and the third time at http://localhost:5500/em/. I wonder why its different.
So I read the previous notes on this issue with great interst. I tried the different advises but with out success.
When I typed "emctl" I got the message "EM Configuration issue. C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_1/PJMOBILE_global not found."
WHen I types "emctl start dbconsole" I got the message "OC4J Configuration issue. C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_1/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole_PJMOBILE_global not found."
In both cases it looks for files in a path name based on my computer name PJMOBILE as opposed to based on "localhost". These directoriues are not there but their localhost counterparts are.
So it seems to me that rebooting my machine has caused some environment variable to be erased.
I hope this adds to the analysis of matters.
    Best regards

  • Problem when start the Enterprise Manager

    Hi
I have a sun solaris (sparc 64) with oracle 9.2.0.5 instaled. When i start the oemctl application, the utilization of CPU reach 100% (the normal with the oemctl stopped is 7%). For this reason, the performance of database down.
Somebody know when i resolve this problem ?
    Thanks

    I've the same problem.
DataBase Server is 10.1.0.2 on HP-UX Itanium, 4 GB memory and 4 disk 36 GB each.
When I comment the line in the /etc/oratab
    *:/u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.0.2:Y
and restart the database whith the console stoped the percent of CPU is going down, otherwise with the console started the % of CPU is up, and all the user querys are normal. When I start the OEM all of resources are dedicated to collect information to the OEM.
I like to use OEM, any idea?
