How to stop frequent crashing with motion
I am working in Motion 4 on a complex video graphic animation. The program has begun to crash more and more frequently. Last week I could not enen open the file I was working on without crashing the program. I reverted to an earlier version of the file, but now it bas begun to crash almost as soon as I begin to work. I already deleted and re-installed Final Cut, but that has not cleared the problem.
I am working wit this system set-up:

How to stop the crashing?
Hi,
When Captivate dies, which it does at least once a day, it
locks up every other application I have. I've learned to reduce
that number as much as possible, but I still have to have a few
other things running. Sometimes I know what I've done -- I've
accidentally used <Esc> to end a recording session a few
times -- but other times I don't. And when it goes, I can't even
close it out in Task Manager. Frequently I have to shut the power
off because nothing else works.
1. How can I stop the crashing?
2. When it does crash, can I do something to help it die with
dignity? So *everything* doesn't go down with the ship? Must I
always reboot and recreate?
Thanks.I may not be of much help here. But lets at least get the
process started.
First, what version of Captivate?
Second, what version of Windows?
Third, have you updated your video drivers from your hardware
supplier, they usually update these things a few times per year.
Fourth, are you saving to a network? I don't believe that
networks are to blame for any of this stuff, but there is a
possibility of network virus scans causing an interruption in the
flow of the file. So are you saving to local drive C:\
If you are in Windows Vista - DO NOT save into C:\Program
Files, it is locked by Widows and your files are "shimmed" to a
subdirectory under Users\Your Name\ and this has been the #1 gripe
that developers have against Vista.
Uninstal and then reinstall Captivate. It is a pain to
re-register if that happens, but you may have something wrong in
the install. Close everything before installing again.
Assuming that you have the latest video drivers and you are
dealing with Vista (if applicable), then you need to call tech
support at Adobe and go over this.
I hope this helps. Please let this board know the answers to
the above questions, but Tech Support is available and it should be
used as needed.

How to stop game crashing for iPod Touch 5th Generation?
I use iPod Touch 5th generation. I have 17 applications, 27.9 GB capacity, 16.9 GB available, 11.0 GB used and I have iOS 7.1.2. When I play Dungeon Hunter 4, Eternity Warrior 3 or Real Racing 3, it like blinks or crash and so I have to start the game again, does anyone know how to fix this crashing?

Frequent crashes with CS5.5 all of a sudden.
Hi. I've been running AE CS5.5 fine on my Pentium I7 Win7 12 gig RAM, clean system, but suddenly I'm running into frequent crashes that I'm trying to isolate.
When it happens, it occurs when I try and do a RAM preview. It renders the frames fine, but when I inturrupt it (keypad INS key) to play what it has, it sometimes says that it can't continue... saying something went wrong with Trapcode Particular, then the Tint filter, and then some other filter. I don't think they are actually to blame.. just victims of something else.
The system seems sluggish often, too. Normally, it's fine, but (I would imagine) when the RAM is filling up with the previews, it sometimes acts like it's an ancient computer... very slow pause before reacting to anything. Generally, a Purge All clears it up immediately, but I'm not sure why it is straining so often, with an I7 processor, 12 gigs of ram, and a clean system. Wasn't doing that with any other projects, and I suspect it has something to do with this one.
I THINK it might have been triggered by my inclusion of particles (although they are hardly enough to strain the system, and I've done this before fine). Renders fine, no crashes. Really, only just when I hit the keypad INS key to play a RAM preview.... and that's only about half the time. Otherwise, it's working just fine. So, it's seemingly random, although I suspect it's something with the RAM being eaten away as frames are stored as I jump around the timeline.
I believe it wrote a diagnostic txt file somewhere, but I don't know where it put it, unfortunately.
Sometimes, even a newly started AE and project load will crash immediately when I try and preview.
Another possible clue... I have audio files (.wavs mostly), and sometimes when I would view the waveforms, I get some sort of error there too, but it continues on just fine (showing the waveform).
I'll often get the 'AfterEffects can't continue... Contact Adobe' window, with (0::42) at the bottom.
Only other error I sometimes get is the 'AE can't continue: Damaged Item (26:311)' one... usually when I'm trying to save the crash file before it closes the app.
Any suggestions as to where to begin? Is that log file worth looking at? If so, where would that be? It's only happening sometimes... otherwise, it runs just fine (and has always rendered the whole scene no problem).
Hope someone can help. Sorry if this is yet another tediusly vague and all-to-familiar post!
ThanksThat I have yet to determine. Certainly doesn't seem to crash if I take off the effects layers, such as particles. I have to isolate each thing and see. It's just difficult, since it only crashes SOME of the time, so it's hard to get an obvious cause/effect.
As far as I know, I'm using the most current version of Particular.
Seems a few things are running odd.
AfterEffects definitely becomes very sluggish in its response to mouse clicks at points... an obvious delay after each action, as if it needs time to think of each action. Seems to be a memory thing (as it's fixed with a purge), although I'm not sure why it reaches a point where AE is struggling to keep it's own interface responsive.
Still getting occasional errors when I try and view waveforms of audio layers, although it continues on fine after the error message. The error itself is kind of vague, so of no real help.
Just did another full render test, and it does it perfectly fine every time. Something to do with the RAM preview, it seems. Seems RAM is acting up both in that sense (RAM preview) as well as the sluggishness AE sometimes gets into (seemingly after you have previewed and/or jumped around the timeline a lot, so (in both cases) a lot of frames have been stored. Still not sure why it reaches a point where it's struggling. Disk Cache is on, so it shouldn't 'run out of RAM' in that sense. Really confused... An I7 with 12 gigs of RAM shouldn't be struggling like that (...even though it's random and only occassional). I was wondering if I have something configured wrong in the memory settings. -
How to stop applications crashing?
I installed Snow Leopard the day it came out, and have had several problems since, which I would like some help in eliminating. First - Word 2008 started crashing on close, not a big deal as its not the most reliable of apps at the best of times. Then Mail crashed several times, mainly while trying to contact servers. This morning Safari closed down unexpectedly. Short of downgrading back to 10.5, is there something I can do to stop apps crashing??? I am a huge Apple fan, but feel disappointed with what some are begging to call "Snow Vista". Do I reinstall, or downgrade to 10.5? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Hi all,
The guy in the shop basically recommended a FULL re-install - that means: (1) boot from the DVD holding the "C" key during startup, (2) reformat the HD using DiskUtility from the Utilities menu, (3) install Snow Leopard (4) recover files from Time Machine back-up. This will mean setting aside between 2-5 hours, which is what I am doing this coming weekend.
A lot of people didn't realise that you can do a fresh install with the Snow Leopard disc - most of us assumed it must be installed on top of Leopard, which then mixes a lot of old and new system files - always a sure recipe for disaster! I will post as soon as I am satisfied that this solves the problem. In the mean time - anyone with a brand new Mac should boot from the DVD and do a fresh re-format & install, that's what the guy at my local store advised me to do...
P.S. my main problems have been with Word crashing on close, iWeb crashing while trying to connect to FTP server, Safari crashing a few of times, and iPhoto too. -
How to stop safari crashing?
My mum was given an old MacBook by someone a little while ago which has worked fine until now, but a few weeks ago safari started crashing when trying to navigate to any website. The homepage (google) loads fine but as soon as you type in a web address it crashes immediately giving a crash report which I'll paste below. I'm very new to Mac systems so if anyone could help it would be very much appreciated, thanks!

You are running 10.6.8, which has an antiquated Java, which means websites that depend on Java may not load. Upgrading to to 10.7.3 is possible with the machine, but you lose compatibility with some older applications. See my tips:
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-5532
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6271
You can always disable Java in the preferences for Safari under Safari's menu, if you want it to run without Java.
Safari 5.1.10 is also available for 10.6.8:
http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1569
If you can't get to the download from Safari, try using Firefox or Chrome for the Mac.
If you can't get those downloaded either, bring the machine to a usergroup or Apple Computer authorized reseller who can get you the downloads.
If neither seems to help, what wireless connection point are you using? Is it an Apple Airport, or something non-Apple? -

found out why Final Cut 10.1 won't load my custom titles without crashing. When scrolling text in Motion 5.1 if you ad a graphic to scroll with the text Final Cut 10.1 will crash. If I remove the graphic in Motion and then load it into Final Cut 10.1 it will work.
So Graphics and scrolling do not work. The graphics are .jpg, .png, .tiff, .psd. I don't know how to fix it. Hopefully someone out there does.

Anonymous UUID: E080EF73-4EC7-F729-7343-2C37817936C6Thanks Tom for the advice. I have four external hard disks, all of them formatted with Mac OS Extended Journaled. On all devices (2TB) I have more than half free space. They are connected either with Thunderbolt or USB3 cables. Different manufactures: LaCie, Toshiba, WD and Samsung. I face the same crash problem if I connect a UBS drive 16GB or a any other device to the USB ports including the Sony Video camera connected with a USB1 cable. Same problem on ALL my computers! To work properly, I have to disconnect all USB devices and work only with internal hard disks. I also tried to format the MacbookPro (erasing the partitions with a new installation) but I have the same problem. I really lost hope...

Frequent crashes with 12.0.0.77
I decided to check to see if flash player was updated today and happily I saw that there was a new version. Since the update previous to this one I was very pleased with the fixes that have come out however I notice one rather irritating feature about this release.
It crashes quite often with common tasks I perform every day where the other one did not, 5 times in the last half hour to and hour alone.
I run Firefox, latest available version and the tasks I do are video chat discussion boards. (Similar to Omegle in format but less seedy) When I click next to get the next feed I find it will crash quite a bit. I am uncertain whether or not watching videos on youtube effects the likelihood of this but I was surprised by the releases instability with this function when the previous release only crashed once a week. I am not a developer so I cannot see if there is a way to fix this myself but any effort made to help would be appreciated.
If it is a known issue and a fix is already being worked on please disregard this post. But if it is common with anyone else I would be interested in knowing. I also run this on Windows 7 Home Edition.Hi,
Please uninstall the App and re-install the App to see how it works.
If issue persists, I suspect that it is a Mac related issue, please contact Apply support for help.
Thanks.

How to modify a face with Motion 5
How do I add a tooth which moves and disappear when the mouth is closed?
And how do I change the colour of the teeth, so that looks better.
How do I make a face younger? And with some makeup as well.
The video that has to be modified, is the face of a old woman.Thank you, mhm ya I think that post-editing the movie frame by frame could be a solution, but it would be 7700 frames...
Anyone does have a better idea? I think that Motion can at least do something to make the teeth transparent and then I can add a back layer which can add a white kind of colour everywhere this black hole appears, does somebody knows how to do that? -
How to stop frequent keychain login password requests
This problem is very irritating, I’m getting asked frequently by OS X to enter a keychain login password. What I’ve read suggests this is related to a problem with Keychain Access. One explanation says it can be caused by an administrator account password change where the default keychain password does not change, resulting in an inconsistency. I have NOT changed my account password so I don’t think this is the cause of my problem.
I’ve also tried using Keychain Access First Aid, but it currently finds no problems.
In my case, this appears to have started after an upgrade from OS X Mavericks to Yosemite. When I did the upgrade, the first problem I encountered was Mail stopped working – I was unable to send or receive mail. I could, however, go to my mail provider at their web site and view mail there just fine. That problem was resolved by using Keychain Access First Aid - I can now use Apple Mail on my "Air" just fine, but I’m still being inundated with frequent requests to enter a keychain login password. I get these requests from Mail, AddressBookSourceSync, Messages Agent, Safari, Local Items, CalendarAgent, and com.apple.MailServiceAgent.xpc.
Once I enter my login password to 3-5 of these requests, I’m able to continue working on my Macbook Air, however once I close and reopen the lid of my Air, the requests start anew.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Keychain - OS X Mavericks v10.9.1: Repeated prompts to unlock "Local Items"
Try resetting the original keychain.

How to Stop Creating Delivery with Transaction: VL10
Hi,
I have a requirement to check/validate the delivery quantity against the minimum delivery quantity and Stop creating the delivery using VL10 Background) for a Sales Order if any one of the item in that Sales Order has the Delivery Quantity of an Item not equal to Minimum Delivery Quantity. I am trying to identify a suitable user exit or set of user exits to accommodate this solution. Can you please provide me with your expert suggestions?
Is there any message table that needs to be updated with an error message to stop the delivery creation inside any of the user exits while using VL10?
Is there any flag setting possible for the sales order inside the user exit that helps to Stop the delivery creation with an Error Message while using VL10?
Appreciate your help in advance.
Kannan.Hi Brad,
As VL10 is used for mass processing, I need to know whether there is a way of skipping one delivery and go to the next one. I wrote my logic in the SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE User Exit. I am able to restrict creating creating the delivery using Vl01N. But using VL10 , I am unable to stop the creation of the delivery in back ground mode. Can I use the BADI DELIVERY_FINAL_CHECK? Or is there any SAP Note to stop creating the delivery if we do have any error messages.
Thanks in advance.

How to stop the guesswork with printing business cards
Hello everyone, when I print business cards I use one of those 10 blank business cards per sheet paper.
I scan the image of the blank business card template, then I import to Illustrator and then I make the business cards.
The problem is when I print sometimes I get some of the design cut and have to print again until I get it right.
My question is how do I get rid of the guesswork when it comes to printing business cards on a 10 card per sheet? (I believe the problem occurs because my scanner is not exactly 8 1/2 by 11 and therefore there is some margin for error)
I know I could use Indesign, but since I don't have Indesign (and may not have it in a future graphic design job) how do I do it in Illustrator? There should be no guesswork if you set up your Artboard, guides, etc., accurately.
I never do this by scanning and tracing a card template sheet, by the way. It only takes a few minutes,to take accurate measures from the sheet and enter the dimensions for guides, etc., numerically. That way you are confident, for example, that you do, indeed, use consistent spacing between rows & columns of die cuts. And the question of any scaling/position/distortion from your scanner image becomes moot.
Then you simply have to design to accomodate the inaccuracy of the specific printer--which is almost certain to be the cause of the misregistration--just as one has to do for a printing press. Paper jogs somewhat as it proceeds through a commercial offset press, just as it does (albeit to a greater degree) on an office copier.
If you design graphic elements which are supposed to print all the way to the edge of the cards, make sure those elements bleed beyond the edges of the die cuts. For this reason, try to find card sheets on which the cards do not share edges, but have spaces between them. If you can't find such sheets, then limit yourself to designing bleeding objects which can span across whole rows or columns of cards.
What Scott says about availability of cheap printing online is true. You can also get short-run, on-demand, decent-quality, digital printing in places like Kinko's, Office Depot, etc. But often, the whole point of this excercise is to provide the client (or workgroups in your own company) the convenience of printing a few cards at a time on a desktop device or a networked office printer.
Delivering the card design as an Enabled PDF is great for this; you can create editable fields for the changing content (names, phones, etc.,) and the one document can work for the whole company. Any user can edit the fields in Adobe Reader, save the edits, and print the pre-cut sheets on a suitable office device, or at a quick-copy shop.
Also, consider the actual need for die-cut stock. Even a quick-copy shop running a decent digital press most likely has a paper shear also. Your real materials cost is much higher per card with pre-perforated sheet, toner, and inkjet cartridges, and you have to fuss over the suitability for inkjet versus laser devices. You're paying for convenience at the sacrifice of quality.
