How to transfer an iphone's libraries from one pc to another one?

Hi all,
I used to synch my 3gs iphone using my laptop (xp window). However, this laptop currently had started having problem with its hard drive so I decided to use another laptop (window 7) for synching my iphone in the future.
I really do not want to re-create its libraries from scratch. So how can I transfer its libraries from the old laptop to the new one and get they synched with my iphone just like they are with the old laptop? Your help will be great appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If your phones have the built-in "Transfer" (sometimes called "Switch") application, try it.
Otherwise, depending on the model(s) you can also copy all contacts to/from the memory card, and get them over that way.
And you can also synchronize both programs to the same service (e.g., Outlook on a Windows PC using Nokia PC Suite).
And newer versions of Nokia PC Suite can also be used to make a backup of one phone, and then restore to another.
PC Suite you can find here: http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite

how do you  transfer adobe acrobat XI registration from one desktop to another (bought new PC).  Need to use ASAP!

    Hi jaanders2,
The licensing agreement allows you to activate Acrobat on up to two computers. So, if you've only activated in your old computer, you simply need to install and activate Acrobat on the second computer. If you no longer have the installer file or installation media, you can download Acrobat from here: Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X - Adobe
If you need your serial number, this document will help you track it down: Find your serial number quickly - Adobe
And this document, will walk you through the activation process: Activation & Deactivation Help

  • How to transfer iphoto and itunes libraries from NAS back to MacBook Pro

I recently upgraded my MBP hard drive, and decided I'd like to move my iphoto and itunes libraries back to my local drive from my Synology NAS. I thought this would be easily achieved by copying the libraries from the NAS and pasting them in the desired locations in the MBP, as I did to get them to the NAS in the first place. This will not work.
First off, when I try a simple copy and paste through finder, the transfer gets about half way through and suddenly stops with  "You can't copy "iPhoto Library" because it has the same name as another item in the destination volume, and that volume doesn't distinguish between upper- and lowercase letters in filenames".
This occurs even if there is no Iphoto directory currently on the MBP.
I contacted Synology, and they attempted to have me use a windows transfer protocol to transfer the libraries, but when transferring this way I am stopped half way through with an "Error -8084" code.
I am aware that the MBP is formatted with MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and that the NAS is formatted differently, but there must be some way to get this back.
My itunes library contains all my family's ipad, and iphone back ups, in addition to around 35 gb of music. Additionally, I don't want to lose Event info in Iphoto.
    Please help!
    Thank you

  • How to transfer/ copy data and setting from one iPhone to another

    Hi,
I recently cracked the screen on my 3G iPhone and a have fortunately managed to convince the insurance company to pay for a new one.
I'd like to be able to transfer all my contacts, apps aand setting to the new phone. Only problem is I have to give back the old phone to get the new one.
Any advice much appreciated, and thanks in advance to anyone who spend time to help

The iPhone is designed to be synced with the supported applications on your computer for contact info, calendar events, and bookmarks. To transfer iTunes content and photos from your computer to your iPhone requires syncing with iTunes. Photos captured by your iPhone should be imported by your computer as with any other camera. The imported photos can be transferred back to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process.
iTunes also creates and maintains a backup of your iPhone that includes data such as most iPhone settings, email account settings, SMS messages, notes, recent calls, call favorites, 3rd party app settings and data created and stored by 3rd party apps, contact info, and photos captured by your iPhone - but not a good idea to depend on the backup only for the last 2. Sync contact info with a supported application on your computer and import photos that were captured by your iPhone before giving up your iPhone. You can restore your new iPhone from your existing iPhone's backup followed by a sync.

  • How to transfer or reassociate iTunes files from one external drive to another without reimporting?

    Hello,
Hope someone can tell me an easy way to do this.
I have a massive itunes library which is presently split between my macbook and my external Lacie. I would like to transfer the files from the Lacie to a new external drive without reimporting all the files into itunes. I essentially would like itunes to recognise the path of the new drive instead of the files on the Lacie.
    Any ideas?

I moved some movies and some seldom listened music (coped the files) into a folder on the Lacie drive. Then I reimported them to the main itunes library while holding down "option". This created a link to those files to the external. the files show up in my itunes but cannot be played unless i have the Lacie connected to them.
    See this link.

  • How to transfer SOME apps + app data from one iPad to another

I have an iPad1 that has tons of apps on it (I call it my app graveyard).
I have an iPad2 that has my primary apps and this is the iPad that I use on a daily basis.
I want to move an App and the Saved Data from the iPad1 to the iPad2. How do I do this?
Again, I don't want to restore everything... just a couple of Apps + their SAVED data from my iPad1 to my iPad2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When you restore from a backup - the process is an "all or nothing" deal. You restore all app data and settings. You cannot select just one set of app data to restore.
You can download the one app only to the other iPad but you cannot restore the data from just one app. It's just not possible to do.

When you first boot the new Mac you will be in Setup Assistant. After you fill in some info, it will prompt you to migrate. Just choose to migrate all.
But you must do this the first time it presents itself.

  • How to Transfer the iPhone from one computer to another Win XP

    All
I got my wife a new macbook pro, running Windows XP prof. She has an iphone 3G with 16 GB memory running 3.0.1. So..she wanted to transfer the sync function from her PC to her macbook. Of course, Apple was of NO help at all (but did want to charge us $69.95 since her iphone is out of warranty, and this was an iphone not a mac problem, hmmm..). Took me lots of digging, but here is how you transfer you iphone from one computer to another:
    1. Move you itunes library from the old computer to the new one. To do this, you do NOT just copy it. This is as good a link to use as any to see how to do it, but search the internet and you can find instructions:
    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-12519_7-10242259-49.html
    2. Transfer your applications you have purchased to the new computer. To do this, open itunes in the new computer, hook up your phone and click on File>transfer purchases (from itunes store) to computer. This will move your applications to the new computer.
    3. Export your MS outlook calendar, contacts, notes, etc. to the new computer by saving each of these categories as a PST file (file>export>then choose the category and type of file)...and then copy these PST files to your new computer and import them into MS outlook.
    4. Copy your playlists from itunes on your old computer to your new computer. This link may be helpful or search the internet again if you need to:

    5. Now...the important part...how to transfer all your settings from the iphone to the new computer....this is the part that was hard to find online, but finally got it: NOTE: THE BACKUP THAT ITUNES MAKES BACKS UP THE APPLICATION SETTINGS BUT NOT THE APPS SO THIS IS WHY YOU NEED TO TRANSFER THE APPS TO THE NEW COMPUTER. The settings have all the data you put into your apps, email settings, preferences, etc...so its a huge time save to transfer these to the new computer also.
-Sync your iphone with your old computer to have a backup in case you mess up...in that case you can restore from your old computer and start over
-Plug your iphone into the new ocmputer and start itunes. It will detect your phone (I assume you have already authorized your new computer to use the library and playlists and apps that you moved)
-Right click on the "iphone" on the left bar...you will see a popup menu...click on "BACKUP". Let it backup your iphone to the new computer. It will NOT sync the phone
-When the backup is done....copy the backup file to a temp directory to be safe. The backup is located in "documents and settings">user name>applications>apple computer>mobile sync. If you cannot see it, you need to open windows explorer (not internet explorer) and go to tools>folder options>view and click on "show hidden files and folders" Note YOU CANNOT JUST COPY THE BACKUP FROM THE OLD COMPUTER TO THE NEW COMPUTER AS SUGGESTED ON SOME WEB SITES...THIS DOES NOT WORK, ITUNES WILL NOT IDENTIFY THE BACKUP EVEN IF YOU PUT IT IN THE FOLDER IN THE NEW COMPUTER THAT MIRRORS THE FOLDER LOCATION IN THE OLD COMPUTER.
-OK now you are ready...click restore on the iphone and restore the phone to factory settings. This will happen in a few minutes (10-15 mins).
-The phone will reboot and itunes will recognize the phone again...as a restored phone. It will then ask you if you want to restore it from the backup..say YES. You then need to go through all the itunes tabs and click on everything you want to sync to the phone (playlists, movies, podcasts, ringtones, etc). Once you are done going thru the tabs click "apply" and the sync will start. Go out, to a movie, to bed, whatever because it will take hours to sync.
-Once the sync is done...voila...your iphone has been moved with ALL the settings to the new computer. Check it. Then you can delete the backup you put into the temp folder if it is OK
    -Deauthorize your old computer
This worked for Win XP...should work for Vista. The whole process took many hours so don't rush through it (i'm guessing 12 hours total work).
