How to transfer from ipad 1 to ipad 2?

Hi
Did anybody have ipad1 and bought ipad 2, I need to transfer from ipad 1 to ipad 2, anyway to do it?

http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/ipad_2_user_guide.pdf
As long has you have synced your iPad via iTunes, then when you first plug in the iPad 2, it will ask you if you want to restore your iPad 1 settings and apps to your iPad 2.
If you want to transfer everything you can, on the same computer you used for old iPad, just restore the new iPad from the backup of your old iPad.

  • HT201272 How to unsubscribe from NY Times iPad Edition?

    Hello Everyone,
I have a subscription to the NY Times on the iPad that I want to terminate as they charge my credit card monthly.
I sent the email belonging to nytimes.com and no reply.
Then I called the NY Times phone number included in the Terms and Conditions.
NY Times told me that to unsubscribe I should talk to iTunes, because my subscription is charged through Apple iTunes.
I called on the phone to Apple iTunes and they asked my device serial number.
They found my device is already out of guarantee (I don't have any issue with my iPad itself), and that they will charge me $18 USD to help me on my request to unsubscribe from NY Times.
Anybody knows how to unsubscribe from NY Times iPad Edition??
    Thank you in advance.
    Ed from Tokyo, Japan

Found the answer to 'How do I unsubscribe from an app'.  Here it is: Touch and hold the App icon on the home screen until the icons start to jiggle, then tap the X. Press the 'home' button at bottom of iPad when finished deleting apps.
That deletes the app. Are you certain it cancels the subscription?
What app was it by the way?

  • Computer was stolen--how to transfer from iPod to new computer

My computer was stolen and I want to transfer my iPod library to my new computer. I know how to transfer from one computer to another using an iPod but is there a way to do it when I don't have the computer that has my iTunes library?

There are a number of third party utilities you can use to retrieve the files from your iPod. This is just a selection.
    YamiPod
    PodUtil
    PodPlayer
    iPodAgent
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive posted in this thread: iPod to iTunes
If your iPod was set for automatic update change it to manual update. While connecting the iPod to the computer, hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 3 and 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then go to Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box.
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again.
Another way is to connect your iPod and before it starts to sync, click the little X on the right hand side of the display beside the "Do Not Disconnect" message. The display is the little window to the right of the iTunes control buttons: iPod Interface
Or you could look at the method described in this link: How to keep iTunes from automatically updating your iPod
Go with whichever method you feel most comfortable. If at any point you are asked if you want to link your iPod to a new library, click No.

I just got my new MacBook Pro and I am learning some of the features it has to offer but I have not figured out how to transfer music files from my iPad3 to the new laptop. Is there a way to do that or am I out of luck?

Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • Photo transfer from PC to iPad 2

I know how to sync photos to my iPad from my normally used PC.
I wish to transfer photos from another PC without replacing what I already have stored on the iPad.
Can this be done with iTunes and if so, how? If not, can it be achieved with another app?

There are several ways that you can transfer photographs from your PC to your iPad.
    (1) You can synchronise your iPad and PC using the iTunes software on your PC and you can select which photos/albums/folders that you want to copy.
    (2) If you only have a few photos to transfer, then you can email them from your PC to your iPad
    (3) You can use a third-party app, like GoodReader (see it in the iPad App Store) and that will allow you to copy photos from your PC to your iPad either using WiFi or the USB connection cable that came with your iPad
    (4) You can use a 'cloud storage' server, such as Apple's MobileMe iDisk or DropBox to transfer photos from your PC to the cloud storage and then you can download them from the cloud storage to your iPad. If you need to know more about cloud storage have a look at the Apple iPad website and look for MobileMe.
    (5) You can use the optional camera connection kit - this will allow you to transfer photos either from an SD memory card directly to your iPad or you can plug the connection kit directly into your camera and upload photos that way.

You can't transfer folder. You can transfer files using iTunes if you have an app that will open them on your iPad. I find that, for a small number of files, simply emailing them to myself is about the simplest way.
You might also want to look at a service like DropBox.
