How to transfer midi files to computer then to ipod???????

Hi guys my dad is a musician and hes been using his midi player for years but would like to use an ipod instead. However how would he transfer his midi files to his computer. He says its impossible but i told him there had to be a way. All his midi files are on midi disks and he says that he can only transfer midi from the computer to the device not the other way around. Please if anyone knows the answer to this, help me out. thanks

You are going to have to find some program that converts to files from midi, whatever that is, to something else. Try Audacity, it might do it.

  • How to transfer music files from Macbook Air to iPod touch?

i have a new Macbook Air and an Ipod Touch. i have loaded music files onto the Ipod successfully, and separately made purchases from Itunes on my Macbook. i want to integrate the music libraries on both devices - how can this be done?

"i have loaded music files onto the Ipod successfully,"
    From where?
The ipod is not a sotrage/backup device.  The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You can simply sync your ipod to the the Macbook to get the music form the macbook to the ipod

  • How to transfer itunes backup to laptop then to ipod?

    Hi
After recent hard drive failure I transferred backed up contents of itunes from external hard drive to itunes on new laptop by dragging & dropping. This appeared to work at first then in the left hand column exclaimation marks appeared and when I tried to play them a message came up saying something like couldn't find route of music. Next day all exclaimation marks gone and could play on laptop. Today, tried to sync with ipod and loads of exclaimation marks have appeared again and only a fraction of contents have transferred to iphone and majority of itunes contents is unplayable.
What's happening and how can I sort it? I still have the back up on external hard drive.
    thanks
    Sue

Hi Thanks for this. I've obviously done something wrong whilst following the instructions as my itunes library on laptop has been wiped, including apps and all purchased items.
All that was imported was a list of folders from my backup but with no content.
Any advice on getting this stuff back and adding backed up music?
    thanks

How to transfer mp3 files to 4s from a PC without itunes?

No can do. Closest you can do is to use iCloud and iTunes Match. Otherwise, for mp3 files you will have to import them to iTunes on the computer and then sync them to the phone.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.

For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • How to copy pdf files from computer to ipad

how to copy pdf files from computer to ipad

You can PDFs to the iPad, but first you need one or more apps on the iPad that supports PDFs - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app.
Options include free apps such as Apple's iBooks app and also Adobe Reader - and paid-for apps such as GoodReader (which also supports read-only of other documents types).
For iBooks you can first add the PDFs to your computer's iTunes via File > Add To Library, and you can then sync them by selecting the iPad on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (on iTunes 11 you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC) and using the Books tab on the right-hand side to select and sync them.
For Adobe Reader adnd GoodReader you can use the file sharing on the Apps tab on the right-hand side to copy them over : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4094

  • How to transfer pc file to Samsung using the adobe reader app?

how to transfer pc file to Samsung using the adobe reader app?

I solved the problem.  I manually created my own Adobe PDF folder by connecting the phone via usb to my PC, Windows Autoplay gave me the option to 'Open device to view files'. Explorer then displayed all the folders on the phone.  I created an Adobe PDF folder manually and copied the PDFs I wanted to view into that folder.  Adobe Reader then found the files without a problem.  I clearly was missing something quite simple but something I'm sure a lot of people would miss.  Perhaps if the next version of Adobe Reader for Android created this folder automatically, like Kindle and Kobo and other readers do, it might save a lot of people a bit of a headache.

How to transfer large files(1GB) to pc

Or possibly alternatively, and if really desperate, upload it to file distribution service like Fileserve or Rapidshare and then download it from the other machine (and then delete the upload).  Many of these services have a free mode although they may have size limitations and they certainly throttle the download speed down (Rapidshare may be one of the worse, Fileserve one of the best).  Personally I never tried something the size of 3GB.  What I do see is that stuff that large is generally broken up into multiple files to get around the size limitations and to be glued together when all the parts are downloaded.
Just throwing this "out there" as an alternative but as I said, you probably would need to really be desparate to go this route

  • How to transfer pc files to macbookair

How to transfer data files like Word doc's, Excel spreadsheets from my old Dell Desktop PC to my MacBookAir?  The Windows PC Office for XP has been in use since 2003.  I've purchased and installed Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac.
I also have photos on my old PC that I want to transfer to my Mac.
I also have Favorites and Bookmarks saved under various browsers e.g. Mozilla, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome.  Is it difficult to transfer these; or better to set them up with a new bookmark under Safari?
Is it better to have the Apple staff make the transfer for me?  If so, can this be done using some kind of flash drive instead of taking the Desktop PC in to the store?

    hi Paul
My wife and I both moved to Mac's last year. The good news is that everything can be ported over, I recommend backing up everything to an external drive before moving data across. In answer to your questions.
    1) Yes Microsoft office on the Mac will open MSO files from your PC
    2) Yes again no problem.
    3) You can export all these bookmarks from their respective browsers and import into Safari. Mind you I'm using Chrome on my Mac not Safari. You can run Firefox too. So the only browser you can't run on the Mac is IE. So you'll need to export your favorites from IE and then import into Chrome, or whatever browser you're going to use on the Mac
    4) I did this myself, my wife took her old machine to the Apple store. I have to say I was very impressed with the way they managed the process. She took in both machines and then picken them up the next day and everything was moved and worked as she expected. You might want to drop off the machines on a Friday, go away for the weekend and pick them up the next week .
    Hope that helps
