How to transfer purchased audio books?

I purchased audio books while using my PC. I have now converted to a mac. I burned my audio books to a DVD and I have reformatted my Ipod to Mac but can't transfer my audio books from the DVD back onto my Ipod.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly,
I have only ever synced my ipodtouch once and that was before I'd bought the audio books in question on alaptop that got run over by a bus. (i know..... tell me about it).
I reinstalled itunes (not on the same one ) and authorized my laptop and signed in etc... But i can’t see where the purchased audio booksare.

I bought an audio book on iTunes and want to transfer it to a new iPhone. It's not in my purchased items. Any ideas?

f you are using automatic syncing to load your iPod with content, you need to set up the iPod's Books tab in iTunes.
Select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary). Click on Booksthere.  This is the Books tab, where you tell iTunes how to sync audiobooks to the iPod.
Sync Audiobooks is checkmarked.  Below that choose to sync All audiobooks orSelected audiobooks.  If you chose the latter, select the audiobooks you want to sync below.
NOTE:  When you click Apply, your selections on the Books tab, and the other tabs (Music,Podcasts, etc.) sync to the iPod and replace its existing content.

  • How to sync purchased audio books

I purchased an audio book from the Apple store. I can listen to it on my computer but can't load it to my ipod classic 120 nor will it sysc my contacts and calendar. Everything else syncs just fine. Pictures and music work everytime I connect the computer and ipod together. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Much appreciated. I didn't realise that 'books' is different to 'audio books' and that the latter was visible when page scrolled down. Thank you for your help.

  • Hi, I have purchased an audio book on iTunes from an iMac and it does not show up on the cloud so I can't download it on my iPhone. Does anyone know why and how I can proceed to transfer the audio book purchase?

    Hi
I have purchased an audio book from iTunes with my iMac.
Now I wanted to listen to it on my iPhone so I proceeded to transfer the purchase and looked for the book in the purchased section of the store in the iTunes on my iPhone but it did not show up.
Does anyone know why and how I can transfer the audio book purchased on my iPhone so I can listen while away from the desk?
    Thank you,
    Sanya

Can you find the audio book by using the Search feature on the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync the audio book to the iPod?
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
Note you have to check the boxes in Books pane for the iPod in iTunes to sync books in general and another box to sync Audio Books.

  • How to transfer purchased item from itunes to an ipod

how to transfer purchased item from itunes to an ipod? Spent about an hour and cannot figure out how to do that The best result this far was smth. like this to Sync a book means that all your music, songs, TV show and movies will be erased. What a strange Apple logic!

That message indicate that you are trying to sync with other than the one syncing computer/iTunes library that yo can have. You have to two choices:
    - Make this computer your syncing computer by:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
    - The manual method of syncng specified here:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
    or
iTunes 11 for Mac: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
The manaul method on works for music and videos on other than your one syncing computer.

  • Recover previously purchased audio books

How do I recover audio books that I purchased on IPad 1

You needed to have saved them on your computer as backup.  Unfortunately audioBooks cannot be redownloaded (music and apps can, but not audiobooks).

  • How do I add audio books to my shuffle

How do I add audio books to my shuffle

If this is a 4th (or 3rd) gen shuffle, and you use automatic syncing for loading songs...  Select the shuffle in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (buttons) starting with Summary.  Click on Books there.  This is the Books tab, where you tell iTunes how to sync audiobooks to the shuffle.  Set it up as desired, and click Apply.
NOTE:  If your shuffle is currently NOT set up for automatic syncing, its content will be replaced by content selected in the sync settings.
If you are NOT using automatic syncing for songs, so you have been loading songs manually by dragging them to the shuffle in iTunes, then you should NOT do the above.  Instead, you can load audiobooks the same way.  Drag the books you want to the shuffle from your Books library in iTunes.
If this is a 1st or 2nd gen shuffle, it is different.  Please post back.

I purchased audio books from Itunes and they aren't showing up on the purchased list so I can't down load them to my new computer. I have authorized my computer. So any suggestions?

You cannot redownload audiobooks at all.
They will only be where you put them.

  • How to transfer purchased music from iTunes

Can anyone tell me how to transfer purchased music from iTunes to my iPod without first downloading to a CD?

If you are using the latest version of iTunes (4.6), then you need to make sure your ipod software is up to date also.
When you have done this, authorize your music in iTunes by playing a few seconds of it, and it should transfer by whatever synching method you choose.
    Get the latest updates here.
If you have done all this and still can't transfer it, post back with more info about what is happening.
    EDIT.
    Grrrr......must learn to type faster!

    Hi Janelh,
I also confused about this, I can't do that by myself I don't know the reason. I search it and see phone transfer tool needed. However what is the best tool? Maybe copy data from old iPhone to pc first? Just to see here:  how about it?

how do you import audio books so they are like the ones you buy from itunes?

There are a number of tools for merging the files into one. Personally I don't bother, but you'll find links on my page which describes how to manage Audiobooks on iPods.

Then restore from you Mac laptop's backup, if you have not been backing up then you may be in for a very painful lesson on why backing up is the VERY FIRST thing you should do with any new Mac. Create a backup plan and use it on a regular basis. If the laptop was using 10.5.x or later then you have absolutely no excuse for not backing up. Sorry for being terse and blunt but Time Machine has been built into 10.5.x, 10.6.x and 10.7.x so we have had years to have a seamless and mindless method of backing up. If you have been using an earlier verision of OS X there are quite a number of methods of backing up.
If you aren't successful then take the laptop and iMac to your local Apple Store or AASP and they may be able to help you recover your contacts.
