How to transform text ?

Hi guys.
See the pic here of the text I have placed omn the rollerdoor.
I cant find how to adjust the text on the left hand side so that it is shorter on the left than the height on the right. therefor giving it a true 3d look like the look of the rollerdoor.

If you want to use corner pin on a text layer then it's easier to pre-compose the text layer, then use region of interest to quickly select only the text, then choose Composition>Crop Comp to Region of Interest. Now the corners of the corner pin effect are going to be very near the corners of the text pre-comp and therefore much easier to manipulate.
I'd also experiment with setting the text color to a dark gray and using the multiply blend mode along with something like Roughen Edges to make the text look more like it's part of the door.
If you want to try the 3D text layer approach then you'll need to match the camera position to properly line up the 3D layer. You can use focal length to adjust the size of your text layer, but perspective is controlled by camera position and not focal length so if you get the position right, the angles will match. This will be a little more difficult than corner pin, but, if there's movement in the shot, it may be easier to work. It's also easier to line up if you temporarily add the grid effect to help line up the perspective.

I don't understand exactly what you want to do.
Refer to fmrweb.res found in the \forms directory. This is the file used to configure key mapping. This is a text file, so it can be opened in most text editors. The top portion of the file provides an explaination as to how each value works.

How to select text and pictures together in word processing mode?

Hello,
I have written about 20 chapters of a book in word processing mode. Each chapter has many pictures, carefully positioned within the text.
Each chapter is a separate pages file.
Now i want to put them together into one single document and have a big problem.
When i press cmd+A to select everything in one document in order to copy and paste it into another document, i can either select the text OR the pictures, not both together.
In Layout mode it is possible, but not in word processing mode.
Does anybody know how to select both in word processing mode or how to transform a word processing document into a layout mode document?
Or is there a way to put together a word processing document from a number of single documents?

I still use word processing for just about everything. The first two versions of Pages only had word processing. I think all of the complaints/requests about the "always-present" text layer led the developers to add page layout. I think they would have been better off adding another application (like AppleWorks' draw module compared to AppleWorks' word processing module.

How to wrap text around a table

I'm new to Pages. The first thing I tried to do was play with tables, because they are the biggest headache in Microsoft Word. However, I ran into a problem right away--I cannot figure out how to wrap text tightly around a table so that the table is surrounded by text on all four sides.
Does anyone know how to do this? Seems very basic. There is even a button that shows what I want (Text Wrap drop-down --> Around), but when I click on it, nothing happens.

I can recreate the appearance with five hard returns after the first paragraph, or instead, changing the After Paragraph spacing to 116 pt. Did this with Baskerville Regular 12 pt with line spacing set at 1. Same Arrange settings as shown by OP.

i need to know how to extract text from a pdf file?
does anyone know what is the character encoding in pdf file, when i use an input stream to read the file it gives encrypted characters not the original text in the file.
is there any procedures i should do while reading a pdf file,

Hello,
I'm new here, so please excuse me if I do or say something I shouldn't.
I need to change the words in a musical score because the font is too small. OCR recognition doesn"t work because there are illustrations that are different from images or text... Is there a way to get in there and make the changes I need to do?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi, How can I get the text in a large text field to start at the top left of the field rather than at the center of the field? In addition, may one know how to make text wrap in the form as well?

To set the Text alignment properties use "Paragraph" pallet you can make it visible by selecting Window>>Paragraph or Shift+F5
And to allow text wrapping you need to select "Allow Multiple Lines" checkbox under "Object" pallet and "Field" tab. You can make Object pallet visible by selecting Window>>Object or Shift+F7.

The correct term in Pages is Text Boxes, and true linking is not implemented in v5.2. You can Unite, Intersect, Subtract, and Exclude multiple Text Boxes via the Arrange panel. These attributes only appear when two or more Text Boxes are selected. Also, on the Arrange menu, you will need Object Placement set to Move with Text, and the Text Wrap set to None for more accurate positioning.
In the following example, there was initially a Text Box with overflowing text that was duplicated. With both Text Boxes selected and aligned, I could then use the Unite feature from the Arrange panel. This allowed the text to flow into the second box. Selecting text in one box and dragging upwards continues the text selection between both boxes. Hoefler italic applied in one box is applied to both. Appropriately placed, another trip to the Arrange panel to enable Text Wrap around and text fit adjustments.
