  • How do I clear updated apps from Updates Screen

Once I have updated my apps how do I clear those updates from the screen.  Currently I see the updates I made 9/26/13, 9/25/13, 9/22/13, 9/20/13. Once I have updated teh apps I no longer need to see that I updated them.

Yes. I have updated all devices to IOS 7.  In 6.1.3 anytime I updated an App once it updated and re-opened the updates only apps needing an update were displayed.
I have turned off background refresh because it suddenly made my iphone act like my old android phone. A horrendous battery sucker.
So you are saying that is a "New Added feature" of IOS 7. I will see my updates from the day IOS 7 was installed forever?

  • Banner alert stopping launching apps from home screen

Whenever a banner alert appears from my home screen, it prevents me from going to open a different app. This is happened when using WhatsApp so I don't know if it's a third-party issue.
For example the banner alert is from WhatsApp, but I can't tap on the app itself, I have to tap on the banner alert. I try tapping on different apps and it won't let me.

You should tap on the banner and it will open the app. If you wait a moment, the banner will disappear, unless you have it set to Alert, which will require you to tap on the alert before you can do anything else. • Closing apps & deleting apps from Home Screen

Ackkk.  What the manual says will happen isn't what happens. I looked.  Honest. Thing is, I don't always want stuff to keep running in the background.  (E.g., listening to music.  I know I can hit the pause button to stop the song from playing, but I don't just want it paused.  I want it turned off.)  (Make any sense?)
Bought iPad 2 yesterday, upgraded to iOS 5.0 just fine, did the little ICloud installation just fine, downloaded the "iPad User Guide for IOS 5.0 Software" , and actually read the applicable parts. (I'would point out that the fact that I read the manual is probably because I'm a girl-person and not a boy-person, but that would be sexist.)  (So I won't point that out.)
Here are the manual instructions I'm having problems with:
Page 23: Force an app to close: Touch and hold the app icon until it begins to jiggle, then tap "-" (the manual has an illustration showing a little red circle with a minus sign)
Page 24: Deleting an app from the Home screen: Touch and hold the app icon until it begins to jiggle, and an "X" appears.  Tap X to delete the app ..." (the manual has an illustration showing a little red circle with an X)
MY PROBLEM: I touch and hold ANY app icon, every app icon on the whole screen begins to jiggle (entertaining, but not helpful ...)  And none of the cute little jiggling icons (including the one I'm holding) shows me any little red circle containing a minus sign OR any little red circle containing an "X" ...
On Page 25: Move an icon to another screen:  Drag an icon to the right edge of the screen until another screen appears (yadda yadda)".
MY PROBLEM: In the manual, it looks like they're dragging one of the standard Home Screen icons from the main home screen to a second screen.  I DID set up a second Home Screen just fine for other apps (Kindle, a game, etc.) but wanted to move some of the built-in icons to that second screen ... when I drag one to the right, it doesn't go off that screen.  (though all the icons start that cute litle jiggling thing.)  Am I stuck with all the icons on the main Home screen just staying there, or am I just not getting it?
Thank you thank you thank you thank you.
    Annette

To close an app you first need to open the taskbar by double-clicking the home button (the taskbar will then show at the bottom of the screen and the rest of the screen will 'fade'), and then press and hold one of the apps that show on the taskbar - you should then get the  symbol on those open/recently used apps.
To move apps you first need to press and hold one of the apps (on the homescreen not on the taskbar) so that they start to shake. Then drag the app (not too quickly) that you want to move and hold it so that it overhangs the edge of the screen - after a second or so the display should then change to the next screen and you can then place the app. You can also move apps via the Apps tab when connected to your computer's iTunes using the mini-screens that show on the tab.

  • How to set password for photos from home screen? Please help.

    Hi,
Can anyone pls help to set password for my Iphone 4s.
My friends/family often use my phone for gaming purpose. I don't want them to see my photos/gallery/videos.
How can I protect my personal things from others?
    Thnx.
    Rgds.

There is no way to set a password for photos. You could upload all of your photos to something like DropBox, then sign out of the app. Or, you could only let people you trust to respect your privacy touch your phone.

  • Howto remove apple icons from home screen

    Hello!
How do i remove all icons from home screen (include apples default icons), and just show the application icon for the program that should be used in our warehouse?

The icons of the homescreen reflect the top line of those located on your main menu.
So, you will need a different theme that has the features you desire.

I need help. I have reset my iphone. I have turned it off then on. Still can't launch my built in mail app from home screen. When I try it goes to blank page then right back to home screen view.

From home screen I have no trouble I can launch the built in utility Notes with no problem. I also can launch Calendars from Home Screen view. My Contacts are still reachable by tapping Phone from H/S view then clicking on contacts.
I can not launch mail. nor can I send email. Also the built in mail app is not showing it is recieving mail either. All else seems fine.
I can log in to my email from Safari on iphone and from my laptop with no problem.
Anyone have any suggestions?  My iphone is out of warranty. Apples only suggestions are To pay for support.
    Thanks in advance

  • How do I stop an app from waiting?  I have tried to reboot by holding the home key and power button to power down.  Also, I have tried to sync the apps from my laptop with no success.  Can you help?  Thanks.

How do I stop an app from waiting?  I have tried to reboot by holding the home key and power button to power down.  The app is still grayed out and waiting so it cannot be deleted.  Also, I have tried to sync the apps from my laptop and tried downloading new appswith no success.  Can you help?  Thanks

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
    If that doesn't work:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

  • How do i move an app from one page to another

how do i move an app from one page to another? When I upgraded to the latest software on my 4s, the camera went to the last page rather than remaining on the home page

What Rudegar says is true, but it's a lot easier to rearrange icons in iTunes:
Connect your phone and open iTunes.
    Click on the Apps tab.
You will see your home screen in the main window, with the other screens in a scrollable column on the right. Scroll down and click on the last page to put it in main window.
Now scroll the column so the home page is visible on the right.
Click on the Camera and drag it onto the home page at the right.
Be careful not to accidentally insert it into another app, thereby creating a group.

Press and hold any of the apps and after a couple of seconds or so they should start to shake. Then press the 'x' in the left corner to delete the ones that you don't want, and when you've finished deleting press the home button so as to stop the shaking. If you don't get the 'x' on any of the apps that you've downloaded (you can't delete built-in apps) then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps isn't set 'off'

  • How do I remove an app from the cloud

How do I remove an app from the cloud

    Hi Shawn,
Since posting I too have seen all the discussion.
I have found a way to get around my problem.
The problem is that my 11 year old daughter has one of our old 3GS's as her first phone ready for going to her new school. She shares my iTunes account and can therefore see my purchased history on her iPhone. To stop her seeing any Apps in the cloud or films using home share which are not suitable for her 11 years I have enabled restriction on her phone and set the age limit. This works well as all the adult rated Apps, mainly games, do not show up in the purchase history on her phone.
    Regards
    Paul
