How to uninstall google drive off macbook pro

Cant seem to figure it out. Dragging the app to the trash can doesnt work...

Does it have an uninstaller?
If it has an uninstaller, then uninstall the program.
If not, then drag it to the Trash.
Most applications on the Mac are self-contained and can be simply dragged to the Trash, unlike Windows with their stupid Registry which is supposed to be kept current with the Remove Software but never really is.

How to replace hard drive in macbook pro?

    Hi S,
If you have the newer unibody style, it's very easy. If it's one of the earlier models, it's considerably more difficult. Go to Apple Menu > About This Mac > More Info > Hardware and find your Model Identifier. Then go to ifixit.com, or powerbookmedic.com or macsales.com or youtube or others and there are illustrated, detailed directions. Good luck to you and post back if you have further questions.

  • How to Clone Hard Drive from Macbook Pro to Macbook Pro with Retina

Hey everyone! I had a question about cloning my laptop's hard drive. I was considering buying a MBP with Retina, but was wondering how I would accomplish copying over my current hard drive to the retina, as I know you can't take out the retina's hard drive, and it is flash. Any suggestions?

Connect the two with a Firewire cable if they both have Firewire ports (or use Thunderbolt if the both have Thunderbolt ports.) Boot the new computer into Target Disk Mode and the old computer normally. The new computer's disk drive should appear on the Desktop of the old computer.
Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
      1. Open Disk Utility in the Utilities folder.
      2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
      3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
      4. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination
          entry field.
      5. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
      6. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the new computer's drive Source means the old computer's drive.
Be sure the old computer is running a version of Mountain Lion that is later than the version installed on the new computer. After cloning you will probably need to run the new 10.8.2 updater for the new computer. OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Update for 13" Macbook Pro with Retina Display, 21.5" iMac (Late 2012), Mac mini (Late 2012).

    Hi,
I am using my Late 2012 rMBP also in bootcamp with windows 7 64-bit
Often I see a popup from the NVidia Control Panel saying that a new update is available. Most of the time, the update adds new game profiles and such... I only use my Mac for CAD. But sometimes they also fix bugs or improve routines...
I know I am "safe" to ignore these messages.
But is it also "not recommended" (or even "dangerous") to install these updated drivers?
Probably, the included driver in the bootcamp driver pack is tweaked for these MBPs.... but is it?

  • How to uninstall iOS 5 from MacBook Pro

I made a big mistake last night by downloading iOS 5 to iTunes on my wife's MacBook Pro.  After reading the new
iTunes Terms and Condition and checking over the features we do not have any need for the iOS 5 on her iPad2. I
did not have the iPad2 attached to the MacBook Pro so the iOS 5 has not been installed; however, it will be installed
the next time I attached the sync cord.
How can I remove the iOS 5 download from the MacBook Pro?
We do not want ot use the Cloud for anything. She likes having her iBooks stored on the MBP and have no interest
in having the address book or picture in a Cloud.

I bit the bullet and installed iOS 5 on my wife's iPad2 then proceeded to turn OFF all Cloud related options and everything is working great.  It is there for those that want it and can be turned OFF for the rest of us.

  • How to Upgrade Hard Drive in MacBook Pro?

I made the mistake of getting only the 90G HD is a MBP purchased in Feb 2008. The manual does not have info on upgrading the HD and I suspect doing so myself may void the Apple Care warranty.
Will the Apple Store do this upgrade for me and in a manner that would not void the warranty?
    Thanks,
    Marcantonio

THe MacBook Pro you are speaking of has a hard drive that is not user replaceable. Meaning, it would void the AppleCare. With that said, any Apple Certified Support Center can service your MacBook Pro without voiding the warranty, this includes retail Apple Stores.

  • How to uninstall Skype Extender in Macbook Pro?

    Hi,
i got Skype Extender application from www.Apple.com and  installed successfully, but right now i dont want skype extender application so i'm try to uninstall skype extender its showing "application is open so u can't uninstall" so how to close application (No way to quit) and also how to uninstall please every one suggest me.
    Thanks in advance.

Then I submit you didn't look in /Library/LaunchAgents on your boot volume as opposed to ~/Library/LaunchAgents in you user (home) directory.
I just ran the installer to verify my assumtions about that installer.  Here's all the stuff that that installer installs:
    /Applications/SkypeExtenderMenu.app
    /Applications/SkypeExtender.app
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.zysk.SkypeExtenderMenu.Launch.plist
    /Library/LaunchAgents/com.zysk.SkypeExtender.Launch.plist
    /Library/Frameworks/Skype.framework
    /private/var/db/receipts/com.zysk.skypeextender/com.zysk.*
[* represents 12 files all beginning with com.zysk. which I didn't bother to list here]
So those guys must be there. I manually removed all this stuff, logged out, back in, and there are no SkypeExtender apps running just as I knew there wouldn't be.
Note, I didn't mention it previously but you should also toss the framework (and maybe receipts too if you want a full removal of all the SkypeExtender stuff) although it's not hurting anything being there other than taking up a little disk space.

  • How do I uninstall applications with a MacBook Pro?

Hai, I need help finding out how to uninstall applications with a MacBook Pro?
-I just got this computer 5-6 days ago and I hardly know anything about it. (AS expected from a new user to a Mac computer. ) Everything is kind of confusing to me especially with unziping and ziping files.
-I have researched trying to find out ways to uninstall with a Mac but everyone seems to have a different way to uninstall. And I really don't want to do something to mess up my new computer while trying to find out how to uninstall applications. (These computers are "expensive" and are non-returnable.)
If anyone can answer my question that would be so great and I would surely appreciate you!
    Thank you, CreeSuki.
OH, and if needed I am running on operating system "Lion" (Rawrrrr). And I am trying to uninstall Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 in general.
    Thank you!

The basic way to uninstall an app is just trash it.  But to get (most, sometimes all) of its associated data files, for example, preferences (usually .plist files in ~/Library/Preferences -- ~ is your home directory) you either have to know what to look for or try to use one of the 3rd party generic uninstallers.  Here's a (partial?) list of potential uninstallers:
    Amnesia
    AppCleaner
    AppDelete
    AppZapper
    CleanApp
    iTrash
    TrahsMe
Go to www.macupdate.com and search for them.
Note, there is no guarantee these uninstallers will find all the potential stuff an app can install but even if it misses stuff no harm is done other than wasting a little disk space.
Oh, almost forgot.  Many apps that come with their own installers sometimes provide their own uninstallers to uninstall themselves.  Use those if they are provided instead of one of the generic uninstallers.

  • How do I uninstall iBooks from my MacBook Pro?

how do I uninstall iBooks from my MacBook Pro if a message pops up saying: "iBooks app cannot be modified or deleted because its requires by OS X"???

No, you're missing the entire forest and the trees.  Whatever it is you are trying to accomplish by hacking iBooks off of your system, it is not an informed decision that will benefit you in any way.  To increase rather than decrease the load on iTunes by returning the book library view to it would tend to make iTunes worse, wouldn't it?  Certainly, not being able to open your books there in any way can't be an improvement.  If you have books that used to show up in iTunes, and that is where you want them displayed, then you have books that will be read on iBooks on iOS or OS X.  If you're just shifting ePubs into some other reader on your mobile devices, you wouldn't put them into your iTunes library at all, and iBooks would be empty anyway.
And beside that, you're hosed in Yosemite with those maneuvers, so again, accomplishing absolutely nothing but scratching a very silly itch that is much worse as the rash you're creating.  Did you delete the unnecessary keyboards and language files first, because that will save a lot more space.  Did you cull the unnecessary kexts for your hardware?  You know, things that actually do something valuable with a measurable benefit and no downside.  If iBooks is such a pressure on your life that you have to get rid of it, how would you know?  Do you torture yourself by opening iBooks everyday and then screaming in pain?  If you can live without it installed, then you would not normally be opening it anyway, so it would have about the same affect on you as Migration Assistant or Chess, unless you deliberately sought it out.

  • How do I back up my MacBook Pro from an external hard drive if my macbook won't boot up from the white start up screen? HELP!

I went to the Genius Bar a week ago, and the guy helping me there was nice enough to help me save some money by telling me I could replace the bad hard drive my MacBook Pro had by myself. I bought everything I needed (hard drive, screws, external hard drive) and my computer won't boot past the white start up screen. It doesn't even show the Apple sign at the start up screen. How do I back up my computer so I can save all my music, school files, etc.? Could really use someone's advice on what to do! Thanks!

Ok, to be sure I understand what's going on. You were able to boot the Macbook from the existing "damaged" internal drive, and it has been backed up to the internal.
If that is correct, your internal drive is working. Just to be sure, try booting with the R key down. Then run Disk Utility to repair the internal drive. That drive may in fact be useable.
You should be aware that you cannot boot the MBP from a Time Machine back up.
Please post back so I am sure I am understanding the situation.

  • How do I uninstall mackeeper from my macbook pro?

How do i uninstall mackeeper from my Macbook Pro?

You may have installed a variant of the "VSearch" ad-injection malware. Follow Apple Support's instructions to remove it.
If you have trouble following those instructions, see below.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. This procedure works as of now, as far as I know. It may not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.
The VSearch malware tries to hide itself by varying the names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming pattern.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
    In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
A folder named "LaunchDaemons" may open. Look inside it for two files with names of the form
              com.something.daemon.plist
    and
               com.something.helper.plist
Here something is a variable string of characters, which can be different in each case. So far it has always been a string of letters without punctuation, such as "cloud," "dot," "highway," "submarine," or "trusteddownloads." Sometimes it's a meaningless string such as "e8dec5ae7fc75c28" rather than a word. Sometimes the string is "apple," and then you must be especially careful not to delete the wrong files, because many built-in OS X files have similar names.
If you find these files, leave the LaunchDaemons folder open, and open the following folder in the same way:
    /Library/LaunchAgents
In this folder, there may be a file named
              com.something.agent.plist
where the string something is the same as before.
If you feel confident that you've identified the above files, back up all data, then drag just those three files—nothing else—to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Close the Finder windows and restart the computer.
Don't delete the "LaunchAgents" or "LaunchDaemons" folder or anything else inside either one.
The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you never reinstall it. You can stop here if you like, or you can remove two remaining components for the sake of completeness.
    Open this folder:
    /Library/Application Support
If it has a subfolder named just
               something
where something is the same string you saw before, drag that subfolder to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Application Support" folder or anything else inside it.
    Finally, in this folder:
    /System/Library/Frameworks
there may an item named exactly
                v.framework
It's actually a folder, though it has a different icon than usual. This item always has the above name; it doesn't vary. Drag it to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Frameworks" folder or anything else inside it.
If you didn't find the files or you're not sure about the identification, post what you found.
If in doubt, or if you have no backups, change nothing at all.
The trouble may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Then, still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • How do i back up my macbook pro to an external hard drive?

how do i back up my macbook pro to an external hard drive?

schmunzelmonster, greetings;  Your suggestion is a good one.  CCC does create a boot drive which as you point out can be most useful at times. Time Machine does not have that capability but it retains a history of activities and transactions that CCC does not.  CCC only retains information as of the last update.
Neither individually is the 'perfect' backup solution individually, but if both are utilized it becomes that.  There is no harm in backup redundancy.
My only complaint about CCC is that is is very slow in performing updates compared with Time Machine.  Just a nit on my part.
    Ciao.
