How to uninstall Photoshop CS6 when the "Adobe Installers" is missing from the Application/Utilities/.......(missing Adobe Installers)"?

I  recently had all of our information from an older iMac transferred to a new iMac (transfer done through the Mac store).  Now when I try to open up Photoshop CS6 from the dock, get a response that says  :Configuration Error  and below that  "Error: 16".   It also says to uninstall Photoshop and then to  re-install it.  The problem is that somewhere in the past, the Adobe Installer was deleted, so am unable to continue with the process- so am unable to uninstall.  Appreciate any help.  Have not had any problems prior to this.

I do not own a Mac and never have so I have little to offer in the way of how get something uninstalled on one.  If the Cleaner did not recognize that you have CS6 installed there are two things I could think of that I would consider - 1) just try reinstalling CS6  2) just delete anything you can find relative to CS6 and try reinstalling it.  The second is option is the least recommended from my standpoint since I do not know what the impact might be, but I don't think trying the first would hurt much... it might just get the installer in place and then provide you with the ability to uninstall.

  • How to uninstall only CS6 with the Adobe Cleaner Tool.

Having a problem with Adobe Cleaner Tool.  The Cleaner Tool first asks which Adobe programs I want to remove.  (I have CS2, CS3 and CS6.)   I specify that I want to remove only CS6.  The next screen automatically chooses from me to remove ALL Adobe programs and gives me no option to change it.  I don't want to remove them all!  I specified only CS6.  How to do this?

    You are welcome, PB.
If you have registered with Adobe, they can tell you the serial number(s) here:
Serial number and activation support (non-CC, chat open between 5AM and 7PM PST/PDT on workdays)

Adobe ID and registration support (non-CC, chat open between 5AM and 7PM PST/PDT on workdays)

Having that backup is one good reason to register.

  • Where is the serial number for Photoshop CS6 in the application?

I have Photoshop CS6 running on my MacBook Pro, but can't get it to open in Yosemite on my MacPro. Also, I can't find my Serial Number to re-enter it on my MacPro. If I could just find it on the MacBook Pro, I'd be fine (I think). Is it available while running the app on my MacBook Pro?

  • How to use Photoshop CS6 when booted from a different partition?

I have CS6 installed.  I recently created a second partition on my SSD for development in OS X 10.10.  When booted from that drive, I get an error that CS6 was not properly installed and to re-install it.
This is a smaller partition, with just the system and a few development apps, and I'd prefer to continue to run my larger apps from the original, larger partition.
Of course, every app I have tried does this with no issues except CS6.  I usually need to re-enter app serials, but they work.
What files need to be copied from one partition to the other to let the app boot up?

They work fine. I first tried with a clone of my main drive doing an update in place on it.
i guess I will need to boot into 10.9 to use them.
I will mostly use stand-in apps like Pixelmator.

When begining the process of removing the software, you are given the choice
to remove components of the suite, or the whole suite.

After a problem with photoshop cs6 (CTRL+T stopped the application with an error message and closed the window), we uninstall it.
We can't download photoshop cs6 on the adobe site to re-install it.
At the moment I am working on photoshop cc evaluation for 1 month.
What can we do to re-install cs6 with our serial number ?

If you did not deactivate the software before uninstalling then you should remember to do that in the future should you decide to uninstall again.  If you contact Adobe support thru chat they can help with deactivating the original installation.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

  • Can't use the keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop CS6 when updating Mavericks

Can't use the keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop CS6 when updating Mavericks

Thanks everyone. What worked for me was a version of the suggestions above. I had the problem with the ≠ character appearing in all my Photoshop CS6 keyboard shortcuts and rendering them largely unusable. However, I don't have any other keyboards besides US English enabled on my Mac. I do have Spell Catcher installed, which works through the keyboard input method. So, I switched from Spell Catcher back to English (with the US flag), launched Photoshop and presto, my keyboard shortcuts were restored, absent that obnoxious ≠ symbol. Once in Photoshop, if I reselect Spell Catcher, the ≠ symbol returns so I have to run Photoshop without the help of Spell Catcher - or forego the use of keyboard shortcuts while it's on. Since the developer of Spell Catcher passed away last year there will be no more updates to the otherwise very useful utility. Apparently this keyboard shortcut problem in the various guises reported here is linked to some element of the OS X input method in Mavericks, as Photoshop seems to manifest the issue in relation to one specific input source or another. This is the first application in my experience to have a problem with Spell Catcher in OS X 10.9. So I will continue to use it, except in Photoshop. Spell Catcher was never updated for Mountain Lion or Mavericks so people like me will have to use it "at our own risk" as the saying goes. Be that as it may, it does appear to be a bug in Photoshop that's at the root of this matter as different people have somewhat different problems with the OS X input method - not that I expect either Adobe or Apple to do anything about it.

    salflyfish,
Because Photoshop is an Adobe product you should be asking on an Adobe product forum or calling Adobe for assistance. Also your profile isn't complete but it does indicate you own a Mac Pro, this is an Intel based iMac forum. If you do have a Mac Pro please re-consider posting there. To complete your profile please click Profile Update, by doing so this helps the volunteers know basics about your system such as which version of OS X is installed, the exact model you own, the amount of installed RAM etc.... Without that information diagnosing an issue is much more difficult.

I am trying to re-install Photoshop CS6. The files have downloaded but I get and error message that the Adobe Support Advisor is required to determine what the installation probIem is. I click on the link that says "get the Support Advisor here only to be told the Support Advisor no longer exists!! A blind loop. I need to have Photoshop CS6 installed...what do I do from here??

The CC Cleaner Tool assumes the Akamai Download Manager is activated and it has not. It seems to be the missing file that triggers the error message. \in a previous re-install I was prompted to download & install the Akamai Download Manger, but not this time. Is there somewhere on the Adobe website that I can download it??

  • How well does Photoshop Cs6 run on the 15" Macbook Pro with 2.6gHz?

I'm currently 'in the market' for a new computer. My desktop is fine, but no longer can handle all the tasks I can toss at it for work (i.e. graphic design). I have been carefully biding my time, getting as much use out of it and my essentially crummy Paint Shop Photo x2, and I believe now for it to be the time to invest in a Mac and the newest edition of Photoshop (CS6). My question is this: Which one of the two Macbook Pro 15" will work best with it, and yet still survive through the next few series of upgrades? My boyfriend says the higher one, the 2.6gHz guy, will do just fine for what I need, I'm just chewing my nails off at the price. And no, I'm not interested in the retina display model. Suggesting it is just pointless.
Basically, I'd like to know which Macbook Pro 15", the one with 2.3gHz or 2.6gHz, will suffice for the jobs I need to do, which include all areas of graphic design and artwork (hence Photoshop), along with heavy internet usage (7-9+ tabs open at any time), Word documents or the equivalent (Pages) and any extras (iTunes, Spotify). Bonus if it can gently tolerate things such as the Sims 3 and all its expansion packs.

The nice thing about the 2.6GHz model is that it comes with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of GDDR5 memory. The 2.3GHz model only has the NVIDEO GeForuce GT 650M with 512MB of GDDR5 memory. And Photoshop will take advantage of that extra video RAM.
That said, I have an older (late 2011) 15" MBP with a 512MB video card and Photoshop CS6 (and the entire Adobe Design & Web Premium suite) works just fine. If I were you, I would buy the base 2.3GHz model with 4GB of RAM and upgrade the RAM, and possible the hard drive with a SSD, as you need it. You can upgrade your RAM yourself to 16GB and you will notice an appreciable difference in Photoshop speed. And I would recommend the RAM upgrade straightaway. You can then look at putting in a 512GB SSD for around $400 and you'll have one of the fastest machines around.
So go with the 2.3GHz and upgrade the RAM immediately. Good sources for RAM are Crucial, Corsair, etc. You'll get far more out of a RAM upgrade than you will the processor upgrade.
