Hi, I have a Verizon iPhone 4s that I purchased from a friend of mine who upgraded to the 5s. Unfortunately, the phone is locked to the Verizon network, and I'm currently a Tmobile customer in the United States. How can I unlock the Verizon phone to be used on the US Tmobile network? Can either me or my friend ask Verizon to do it, or should I go through a third party site? If it's a third party site, which is a reliable one that I can use? Thanks for your help!

Contact Verizon. They are the only ones who can unlock the phone from their network. T-Mobile is a GSM network, so you can only use the phone on their network if it's a GSM phone, but Verizon is a CDMA network.

You can simply sign out and sign in with the different ID. However, if you have any protected media - movies, or songs purchased before they stopped protecting them - you will not be able to play them, so in that case you are rather stuck.
You can't merge accounts or transfer iTunes purchases from one Apple ID to another: but there is no problem about using two IDs. Use your iCloud ID for iCloud for syncing email, contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and PhotoStream; use your other Apple ID as before for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match.
There's no conflict about doing this, and you won't even notice as Keychain will log you in with the correct ID in each case. It's also better security not to have your iTunes login also your email address, given the number of complaints about hacked iTunes accounts.

How do I get my Samsung S4 phone unlocked by Verizon for oversea travel using local GSM sim

I just got my new Samsung S4 phone and need to know how to get this phone unlocked by Verizon so that I can use the local GSM sim card when I am out of the country. In reading some of the community posting, it sounds like Verizon has to unlock my phone before I can use it for GSM. I put in a China Mobile sim card and it keeps telling me that this is a " non-Verizon SIM - This sim card is from an unknown source" and I cannot use the local SIM on my phone at all.

I have selected global mode in the Mobile Networks setting. Network Operators is greyed out for me to select China Mobile as the SIM card carrier that I inserted and replaced the Verizon LTE SIM card.
What else can I do to make the local SIM work on my S4 phone. It still show China Mobile not available.

Did you erase it before you sold it?
Settings> General > Reset - Erase all content & settings.
Or did you leave all your personal info on it and give it to someone else?

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Typekit is not font management software; it is a library of fonts that you can sync to your desktop to use alongside the fonts that you have installed locally. This tutorial shows how it works:

You will not upload your other desktop fonts to Typekit. You'll continue to manage them locally in Font Book, Suitcase Fusion, or another font management software.

You can't. The Verizon iPhone 4S can not be used with any US carrier other than Verizon. If you want to use StraightTalk, sell the Verizon phone and buy a StraightTalk iPhone. They are a supported CDMA carrier. Neither StraightTalk, nor Apple support using an unlocked phone on Straight Talk.

In Acrobat Reader DC for Android, how do I prevent Verizon Cloud from launching when clicking the floating action button to retrieve files?

I have a Verizon-branded Samsung Galaxy S5, which means a lot of Verizon apps were added from the factory install.
Recently I upgraded Adobe Acrobat Reader to its most recent version.
When I clicked on the floating action button to open a PDF, it launched Verizon Cloud instead of showing my file directory.
Unless I disabled Verizon Cloud altogether, every time I did this, I would get the Verizon Cloud app instead of a file listing.
Reader DC is the only app that does such a thing. Is this a defect?

To remove the Verizon cloud storage from Adobe Acrobat DC application, you can 'Turn off' the Verizon cloud application from 'Settings'-->'Application Manager'-->'All applications'. After doing this, every time you tap on the Floating Action button, you will be presented the list of all your pdf files on your device.
If you would like to view both the Verizon cloud based files as well as files from your internal memory/SD card, I would request you to download some file manager application from the Google Play Store such as And Explorer, ES File Explorer etc. After doing this, whenever you will tap on the floating action button, you will be provided an option to open the files either from the Verizon cloud or the files on your device.

You should be able to register the device at that time with YOUR apple ID, thus satisfying the system's request for a valid Apple ID that owns the resident copy of Mountain Lion (if the system came with it).
The old user can go on Apple's website to edit your Support Profile to delete ownership registration of the product(s).
The new user, you, then simply registers your "new" device, also online. Once the old owner has deleted ownership, the serial number is freed for a user (new owner) to add it. The new owner should have an Apple ID first, which I imagine you do, since you login here with that ID.
