How to upgrade the installed perl (5.10) to latest version (5.14).

I have Mac OS X 10.6.8; the pre-installed version of perl is 5.10\. I would like to upgrade this to the latest stable version of perl, which is 5.14 (iirc, 5.15 is a developmental release on the way to 5.16).

Meanwhile, to actually answer the question .... there is (of course) another way to do it, the Perlish way. Lion comes with not only Perl, but also CPAN, which is the proper way to upgrade/install Perl and its components. To use CPAN you will also need various development tools (gcc, make) which you can get by installing the command-line developer tools from Apple. (https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action)
(Instructions below assume you know how to work on the command line. If not, you almost certainly shouldn't do this.)
Make, or make sure you have, a good bootable backup of your system, just in case.
Run cpan as root or sudo, and answer yes to the automatic configuration question.
Once you get to the cpan> prompt, type "cpan upgrade" to make sure you're on the latest version.
Then, to upgrade Perl, just type "upgrade". This will take a while (5-10 minutes) but assuming it succeeds, you'll be on Perl 5.14 with all of the new features (such as the /r modifier for s/// which is why I upgraded).
If the process fails, CPAN's output is usually pretty informative. Most of the time it's due to permissions problems (did you sudo?) or to a misconfigured compiler. If you've installed your own development tools or messed with your PATH, that could be the problem.
I don't think OSX makes any actual use of Perl; upgrading it had no effect on my system at all. YMMV, of course. I would never start something like this without a bootable backup on hand.

You can't.
An upgrade from 10.3.x to 10.4 is a paid upgrade.
You need to purchase a retail copy of 10.4.

I have a question ~
Both Weblogic Server and JAVA JDK are installed on the server already, but I only know the Weblogic Server is 10.3.4.0 and JAVA JDK version is 1.6.0_25.
I know the 64bit Weblogic Server installation file is a wlsXXXX_generic.jar package and 64bit JAVA JDK needed also.
But, since the Weblogic installed already, there are no such installation files on the Linux Server now.
I have tried the "java -version" for java version and check the Weblogic version from Weblogic console.
How to identify the installed Weblogic Server and JDK are 32bit or 64bit with Linux command? Or is there any way to check it?

What you can try to do is use WLST (or an MBean browser, such as JConsole or JRockit Mission Control) and connect to the adminserver.
For example when using WLST:
# set the environment by using setWLSEnv.sh (located in the ${WL_HOME}/server/bin directory).
# start WLST by using: java weblogic.WLST
# connect to the adminserver

How can i change the jre to 1.5?

There is a workaround to move from 1.5 version to the older 1.4 version. But this could be specific to the browser setting the JRE version.

My system (Windows XP) has the version 1.5_09 set as the default. However i just installed JRE 1.5_06 and would like to revert back to _06 as the default JRE..

CME is part of the IOS, so you can't upgrade the IOS seperately from CME.
That said, if this is a production environment you should proceed with caution and be prepared to roll back as you may find bugs, etc.
You should also look at release notes and make sure your phone firmware will still work or needs to be upgraded too.

Any idea why is Bridge latest version not working when trying to open it in Photoshop CC 2014 ? (French version) ? When trying, Creative Cloud app will open to ask if I want to download newest version, which I did numerous times now.

Here's how a similar problem was resolved between PS and BR.
The issue was confirmed by ChunXiaYang at Adobe staff and solution put in the forum discussion on June 19 (no. 13). Here's a copy:
I have confirmed that this is a known issue before release. And the workaround is to uninstall and reinstall PS 2014. Then Bridge can be launched by selecting 'Browse in Bridge' in PS2014.

I did this with a fresh install of the entire CC package. As soon as the CC packages updated, CC Bridge broke. Unistalled CC PS, reinstalled again, CC Bridge works, but CC PS updates itself again, and breaks CC Bridge.
You know... The whole move to CC has been a massive cluster... I've struggled with the CC packages for my entire subscription year, and now I'm 1.5 month away from needing to throw down another $720 for no reason what-so-ever, just so we can Beta test your really screwed up subscription services.

I'm having the same, identical problem. It goes into step 2 (backing up process) then it goes back to step one (finding iPad) and it starts over again. It will just keep doing that for 3 or 4 times until it will say "iPad not found". This is so frustrating.

you dont need computer. go to settings > icloud and turn off what you dont want like photostream/calendars/contacts. for itunes 11.1 you need to go to itunes.com and download it then install it.

I get the same problem running the diagnostics. Says network connections are present and in the green, but unable to connect to iTunes Store.

I downloaded the Microsoft Autoruns package and ran it. There are no programs in the LSA Providers tab, and Apple's Bonjour is the only program in the Winsock Providers tab. I also did the "netsh winsock reset" and rebooted. It didn't fix the problem. Any more ideas?
