I own a ipod mini and i am not able to use the calendar. How can i create and delete events in the calendar?

Yes I have the same question too. When I plug my fairly new160 gig ipod classic into the USB port of my new car, all the ipod screen info defaults over to the car's screen and you have to navigate what you want from the touch screen in the car. Fine no problem. But when I try to do the exact same thing using either of my old ipod minis (which otherwise work just fine with headsets) I get an error message which basically says. this is not going to work. WHy is that? ...Anyone?

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

Using ipod mini in a bike

Is possible to use ipod mini fixing it in a mountain bike. I will make a mountain route in holidays and i want to carry ipod mini together with a mini speakers in front of my bike. Any problem with the vibrations?

I don't know about the operating range of the iPod but I doubt fixing it to a mountain bike would do it any good.
Best to have it loosely but securely attached so it doesn't get knocked but any vibration would be absorbed. a good protective case for the iPod should do the trick then have that housed in a carrier on the bike. With the cables for the speakers coming out of it.

New (Used) Ipod Mini Owner

My friend is a Ipod Guru and recently gave me a old Ipod Mini Model M9160LL (I dunno if that is a 1st or 2nd gen). I am killing myself trying to figure out how to get my PC to recognize it. I have all 2.0 USB Port on my pc (But I have tried them all), I have tried the Apple "5 R's" with no luck and I have downloaded the newest version of I-Tunes.
My PC will not recognize the Ipod at all, and obviously if I cant pass this stage the I-Tunes will not see it either. The current version according to the Ipod is 1.4.1
If anyone can please help I would greatly appreciate it!

I have the same issue...Okay, I will try to describe my question as best as I can..first I have Windows Vista, 32 bit, and use IE. My niece had her iPod nano on my computer and everything worked fine; since then she got a laptop for Christmas therefore, I was able to delete the iTunes and anything else to do with iPod she has. I cannot get my iPod to be noticed by my computer or iTunes...I have researched so many articles online and nothing seems to be the answer. I have reset the iPod (5 Rs), and I have put it into disk mode however, what I was reading stated when I plugged the iPod into my computer, the "Ok to disconnect" should change to "Do not connect" and it doesn't.

I deleted all the music from my iPod (it's all still on iTunes on my old computer" but the music will not transfer to my iPod so that I can transfer it to the new computer. Yes, you can STORE pictures and/or video files on your mini. That's all you can do with them though - store them. This is so you can move them from your computer to another computer, but while they're on your iPod, there's really nothing you can do with them.
The firmware in the mini simply does not have any capabilities to process the files to output to a tv.
The iPods with color displays are able to display photos (not video) on a tv, but not the mini or any iPod without a color display.

Using ipod mini power adapter for nano?

I just got an ipod nano and I have a few questions:
I noticed that it doesn't come with a charger (or power adapter?...not sure what it's called) which I thought was unhandy for traveling because then I can only charge it through a computer and I won't always have one around. I had an ipod mini before which did come with a charger. Can I charge the nano with my old ipod mini charger?
And also I was stupid and forgot the instalation CD for the nano at my sister's who lives really far away, so I was wondering do I need the CD or is the software that I have for ipod mini ok too?

I am new to ipod. I set it up on my laptop, and have all uploaded my cds to my ipod from there. I do nat have internet at home, so tried using my parents computer. How do you use the ipod with another computer that doesn't have all your songs on it? When I go to sync it, it ask if i want to delete all my ipod songa and replace with the ones on the other computer. I am trying to get album artwork. What am I not doing right?

If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer or with more than one library you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply. The content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different. You can directly access the content of the iPod and play it through iTunes and you can drag and drop whatever you want to the iPod from either library. Even when manually managing an iPhone, you can only add content from one iTunes library.

Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod
You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that way you can continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it.
