  • How to use a SANYO HD flash memory camera with a Mac

If you have a Sanyo camera similar to the XACTI that takes HD video in the h.264 format, you may get a green or black screen when you try to run the video. This happened to me, but I found a solution.
--THIS IS FOR LEOPARD OR LOWER (NOT tested on Snow Leopard or higher)--
The camera comes with a CD that has Quicktime on it. I don't remember the exact steps, but you basically have to take the h.264 component from that and put it in your Quicktime plugins folder, replacing the other one. Note that the one on the disc is old, that's OK.
I have an installer for it which I have posted on Macrumors. Google it.
I am not responsible for any damage to your computer, but I have tested this multiple times in Leopard, Tiger, and Panther, and it works perfectly. It also works in iMovie, Final Cut, etc.

Great info, thanks for the post!

  • How can I rename an established wireless network using airport extreme?

How can I rename an established wireless network using airport extreme?

Thanks for the info.  On your Mac......
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the picture of the AirPort Extreme
Click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next window that appears
Edit/backspace out the Wireless Network Name and type in a new name that you want to use
Click Update at the lower right of the window
Wait a full minute for the AirPort Extreme to restart
    Close AirPort Utility
The new network that you named will use the same network password that you set up originally.

  • HT1178 I don't want to use it as a wireless network.  I just want it to back up my computers.  How do I set it up?

I don't want to use it as a wireless network as I have the modem supplied by Optium.   I want it to back up my computers.

Plug it into the main modem which must also be a router.
Put the TC in bridge mode..
Then go to the wireless page and either turn it off.. but I recommend roaming.. as the TC is much faster on the 5ghz band and backups can drag down wireless performance of the whole network.
Roaming setup thusly. ...just give the TC the same wireless name= SSID as the main router.. same security.. WPA2 AES= WPA2 Personal and the same security password.. and then the computer will simply pick the best wireless to connect to.. without creating a second wireless network.. although it is not really such an issue to do so.

How do I set up a wireless network with an AirPort Extreme base station and two airport extreme but between apple devices either by ethernet

This Apple support document provides good general information on configuring different types of neworks using multiple AirPort routers.

In particular, you would want to focus on the information regarding a "Roaming Network"

    thank you!

Your AirPort Express is already providing two separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, but each band is using the same wireless network name.
This is the default setup for the AirPort Express, which is recommended for most users. The theory here is that devices will automatically connect to the best quality signal based on their capabilities and distance in relation to the AirPort Express.
It is possible to assign a different name to the 5 GHz band, and then "point" devices at that network to connect. Some users swear by this option.....(I am not one of them).... but you might want to give it a try to see how it works for you.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
    Click on the AirPort Express
Click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next window
Click Wireless Options near the bottom of the next window
Enter a check mark next to 5 GHz Name.....which will automatically add "5 GHz" to the network name....so you can identify it
Click Save, then click Update and wait a full minute for the Express to restart
Now you will need to "point" your 5 GHz capable devices at the 5 GHz network name.  2.4 GHz devices will connect to your "other" network name.

  • Use labview to collect AE streaming data from pacpci2

    Hello everyone,
I'm using labview to collect AE streaming data from pacpci2.I have the dll from PAC,and I have  written some VIs for streaming data. Now I don't know how to read data to my program from the pci. Can the "getMessage" function do this?
Hope somebody has this experience can help me.Thanks a lot.
    henry

No idea because you are leaving all the details out of your message.
What does "AE" mean in the way you use it?
    What is "pacpci2"?
    What PAC are you using?
What "Get Message" function are you talking about?

  • How to use time capsule for wireless back-up but not internet?

    Hello,
I have a tower and recently a laptop at work. The tower is connected to our local network with an ethernet cable and the laptop with wireless. So, the internet connection is fine for both.
I was hoping to use my time capsule to do time machine backups on my laptop. Do you have any advice on how to configure this? I do not want to use the time capsule to extend my Internet, as I believe my work I.T. would prefer to handle all access to their  network.
Perhaps there is some documentation about doing this that you could point me to? I have not been able to find it.
    Thank you for your help.

Your original question was How to use Time Capsule for wireless back-up but not Internet?
There is no reason for you to connect the tower....or anything else...using Ethernet if your goal remains that same as you stated.
If you are asking if you can backup the Tower using Ethernet, and not wireless, then you can connect the tower to one of the LAN <-> ports on the Time Capsule....not the WAN port.
Yes, it appears to work without plugging into my tower.
    Correct, it will work.
I just have to select the network that it created. Of course, I have no access to the Internet while this is happening and it can not auto backup, unless I am on that wireless signal.
As I stated, that is the downside to trying to back up without an Internet connection.  You have to establish another network...and backup over that network.
If you are asking if you can stay connected to the work network while also backing up to your non-Internet "private" network, that is not possible.

  • I recently upgraded my OS to Lion 10.7.4.  I also just upgraded from a 1st Generation Time Capsule to a 4th Generation Time Capsule.  I have an Airport Express (Version A1264) that I formerly used to extend my wireless network.  AE no longer works.

I recently upgraded my OS to Lion 10.7.4.  I also just upgraded from a 1st Generation Time Capsule to a 4th Generation Time Capsule.  I have an Airport Express (Version A1264) that I formerly used to extend my wireless network.  Airport Express no longer connects to my network.  I have downloaded Airport Utility 5.6 to try and configure, but with no luck.

TC first gen was not simultaneous dual band. So.. it's probably best to factory reset your extreme and then tell it to extend again.

  • Connecting Pumps to PC and Using LabView to collect the data

    Hi There,
I am a beginner with LabView and I want to use LabView to collect data from a Pump using RS-232.
Could anybody help me where I need to start from?
    I highly appreciate your help.
    Regards
    Mo

    Hello moizadi,
the best place to start is definitely the excellent Example Finder built in LabVIEW (Help menu -> Find Examples...). Switch to the Search tab and enter the keyword RS-232. This way you will find nicely documented examples for other common tasks as well. You will find further tutorials and more specific examples by searching for RS-232 or serial communication keywords on NI.com search.
If you have further questions, please feel free to ask!

  • How to use labview with the handyboard

    Hi,
how to use labview with the handyboard
    Thx...

I'm assuming you're talking about this, since you didn't provide a link for those of us who don't know what you're talking about.
As the other poster said, you didn't say how you want to use LabVIEW with it.  If you want to write LabVIEW programs than run on the microprocessor, then you're out of luck.  If you want LabVIEW to interact with it, then you've got a couple of options, SPI probably being the best, but it also has DI and AI that you could use to communicate with it - the DI's could be used as a parallel interface.

  • How to Use LABVIEW charts with Mathscript

    Hi,
I recently tried to work on Mathscript and it is really amazing. what I tried to figure out is:
Instead of plotting using traditional "plot" statement, how to use LabVIEW chart ( I know how to Add output but the graph were not as expected
Is there any mean to get rid of this "Lengthy" delay that "ALL MATLAB User know" for first time compilation?
    Thanks in advance

    Well Chris,
I was about to post the solution, but as I said, I'm in a middle of experts
It took me 3 hours to figure it out. I should've checked your answer . I resolved to the same suggesstion of yours. I only added some functionality to get the newbies like me being acquainting with how easy to work with LABVIEW mathscript based on MATLAB knowledge.
