How to use stroke outline in PSE 13

I am trying to use the stroke outline around a picture in PSE 13 and it is greyed out.  Can anyone help me with this?
Thank you in advance.
Robyn

Work in Expert tab
Open the picture file
Go to Select>all
Open a blank layer at the top in the layers palette
Go to Edit>stroke(outline)selection. Enter the px width for the stroke, select the color, and position it inside.

  • How to use harvard outline in Pages on iPad?

I have tried the standard tab and the shift+tab, but nothing seems to help with formatting an outline with the appropriate sub-levels.

Great question . Here's what worked.
Step 1: Create a Pages document on your Mac.
If you don't have a Mac, here's a link to an example iCloud Pages document (I'll keep this link active for as long as I can, but no guarantees!). If you open the link via iOS, you'll get an option to open it in the Pages app (instead of Safari).
Step 2: Open the iCloud Pages document on iOS, and go to the Lists section by tapping the paintbrush icon.
Step 3: You now have Harvard Listing enabled!!!

    Hi Allan,
Basic steps for the question you ask:
You'll find more about creating an outline in the article Creating an Outline, in Chapter 5 of the Pages '09 User Guide. The guide is available for download via the Help menu in Pages.

  • How to use and edit Outlines

Can somebody provide me some information on how to edit and create Outlines in 11g? I have a case where we are using a third party tool whose generated SQL we can't control and it is generating a query that is incredibly slow due to the optimizer's choice of an index to use. Since we can't add a hint to the query, my understanding is that I should use stored Outlines. I can see how to create one but I am unclear as to how to add a "NO_INDEX" hint / how to tell it not to use and index. Can anybody provide me help on how to do this?
    Thanks,
    Greg

    1. SQL profile is not an alternative to stored outline. Oracle implemented SQL plan baseline as an alternative to stored outline.
    2. Stored outline can be used as an way of chaning execution plan without modifying the origincal SQL text(OP seems to find the way of doing this, am I right?).
    I call it "switching outline".
See following test case which demonstrate how to use stored outline to fix execution plan without chaning SQL text.

  • CS6 how to use gradient Tool for outline

    Hi!
I am a graphic designer I like to work hand and not numbers. The new version of Ai CS6 gradients can be given for strokes. Great!
Please help me how exactly I can do it with a convenient tool 'Gradient Tool'?
Does not respond to changes in drag when I try to use the mouse to outline?
In advertising and instructions CS6 somehow strange is described ... I do not understand.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/gradient-panel-gradient-tool-overview.html
    Regards!

@Ivan David: Thank you for your response. I asked for something else. How to use the "Gradient Tool" no gradient palete. Why are chceck "ON" you own answer as helpful?
As I explained I am a graphic designer will create a hands than numbers. I do not understand why no tool "gradient tool" works to fill but it does not work on outline.
If I get a chance to show off with a representative of Adobe's a bit like crying...
We need fair and real changes. According to me the most to do is to think about using Illustrator for themselves of their creators Illustrator.
    * For example in work with new gradient tool.
    - Why when you edit the gradient for the outline of the object is displayed slider gradient fill???. It's confusing and totally unnecessary.
    - Why is the Gradient Tool Outline tool does not work???
    - Why Control bar does not drop the Gradient icon??? What is the control bar when no controls? Control Bar cool idea but how would the developers were thinking of him as a stranger?
    - Why still the option of working with the gradient tool to fill, when you edit a color marker, I can not turn on the Eyedropper tool to select a color from another object???
    - Why does the apperance in the attributes panel stoke attribute does not appear easy gradient of a potential of gradient palette???
    - Why can not I fast copy between objects only attribute gradient???
After all, it's easy and does not require a great job developers reach a solution to the function. I know that my naive questions now, and nobody I will not answer to them but sorrow grows. Sometimes I feel like a fly in pitch.
    This is not normal.
So many years have passed, there was a lot of new tools but Adobe wants to use the same techniques as in his first product. Refresh in the new 64 bit version is also not so different to that in compared to regular equipment and are currently using...
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3TDmvZma84
Sorry for the harsh words of criticism, But your answer is a perfect example that Adobe does not know what's going to people who work with Illustrator on a daily basis and  as can be seen starting to irritate me tight.
Perhaps I have exaggerated expectations about the tools Adobe. I understand that there is so much work and needs, but I lack only a change of thinking about working with tools in Illustartor and reducing unnecessary clicks. Now, instead of tools to work with each other often exclusive and force running around.
    Regards!

  • How to use one PSE with multiple URLs?

I need to hit my DMZ SAP Web Dispatcher with multiple unique URLs.  I am starting off using webdisp1.abc.com and webdisp2.vde.com.  DNS will resolve both the Web Dispatcher Host.  Following Tobias Winterhalter's Blog: Name-based virtual hosts and one SAP Web Dispatcher to access multiple SAP systems.
My question is how do I go about generating the pse so I can store both webdisp1.abc.com and webdisp2.vde.com?  Do I just import the first request and initiate another certificate request using the same pse?
    Example
    sapgenpse gen_pse -s 2048 -p D:\<file path>\SAPSSLS.pse -r D:\<file path>\webdisp1.req CN=webdisp1.abc.com, OU=IT, O=XYZ Inc., C=US
    Cheers,
    Dan Mead

    Hi Daniel,
what you are looking for are so called SAN certificates. As Martin said, with sapgenpse you are pretty out of luck. However you can create the certificates using openssl and then use sapgenpse to import them into a pse. There are a number of guides on how to create SAN certificates on the web, like the one mentioned by Martin from CAcert (which is one of the best imho) or this one. And there are also guides on the internet on how to convert OpenSSL keys to PSE.
You should however keep in mind, that SAN certificates are more expensive than standard certificates. Therefor they only pay if the hostnames in there are stable for the lifetime of the certificate. If the hostnames need to change once a year, you already will be better off (from a cost perspective) by creating one pse per hostname an let the webdispatcher listen to different addresses, as each hostname requires a new certificate signed by the CA.
Please also make sure, the systems and browsers connecting to your webservers are able to understand SAN certificates. For SAP systems this requires at least pl24 of the sapcryptolib.
    Kind regards,
    Patrick

  • How do I import pictures on PSE 8 for Mac? How to use bridge?

    Hi
I have downloaded PSE 8 for Mac and I am quite disoriented. I used to use PSE for Windows and I am lost. How do I import the pics that are on my imac?
I read somewhere on the net that I should use the bridge module but I cannot find how to use it. Could you explain step by step? Please help!
    Thanks a lot

You don't exactly "import" photos to the mac version, because it doesn't store them or keep records of them. Download the photos to your computer however you want (I wouldn't use the adobe downloader for mac unless you have a specific reason to do so), then you can either open them from finder or point bridge to the folder they're in.
If you use iphoto, you should PSE as your external editor and send your photos from there.
Bridge is just a browser. It doesn't care what you do to your photos when not using it, so you don't see it throwing up its hands and shrieking that it can't find them the way organizer does if you move photos in explorer.

  • How to output the outline parent-child relationship using a report script?

I'd like to extract the outline's dimension members with it's parent-child relationship using a report script. Anybody can provide a sample script? Thanks.
    Example:
    DimensionX
    -----MemberX
    ----------ChildX
    Output:
    Dimension X MemberX
    MemberX ChildX
Edited by: obelisk on Jan 11, 2010 5:16 PM

Sorry a report script won't do it. You have two options
    1. Use at Essbase Outline API to walk the outline and get it for you
    2. Use the Outline extractor available from Applied Olap (it is a free download). It can be run interactively of as a bat file.
Frankly, I would rather use 2 since I don't have to code it myself

I've been going through the tutorials and following along pretty good but i got to the Perfect Portrait guided edit and didnt' get how to use the Teeth Whitening tool...it seems to select the teeth but then I'm lost....what am I supposed to do at that point after the marching ants are marching around the teeth?

I’m not sure what’s going on, but obviously something is not happening.
You could also try the dodge tool (keep pressing the letter O on your keyboard) until you see the blue dodge tool. No selection necessary.
Enlarge your image to about 200% and use the square bracket keys to increase or decrease the cursor size to fit the area to be whitened. Set exposure in the options bar to about 50%. Gently brush over the teeth area until you get them as you like.

  • How to use outline to change sql plan in other sessions??

    Hi, all.
    The oracle is 10.2.0.4.
    create table ho_test2 (
    a1 number ,
    a2 varchar2(100),
    a3 varchar2(100),
    a4 varchar2 (4)
    create unique index ho_test2_PK on ho_test2(a1,a2);
    alter table ho_test2 add constraint ho_test2_PK primary key (a1,a2) ;
    create index ho_test2_ix1 on ho_test2 (a4);
session 1 : the follwoing query is using ho_test2_ix1 instead of ho_test2_PK
    set autotrace trace explain
    select * from ho_test2 e where e.a1=1 and e.a4='11'
    papa2:SQL> select * from ho_test2 e where e.a1=1 and e.a4='11'
    2 /
    Execution Plan
    Plan hash value: 1146899407
    | Id | Operation | Name | Rows | Bytes | Cost (%CPU)| Time |
    | 0 | SELECT STATEMENT | | 1 | 121 | 1 (0)| 00:00:01 |
    |* 1 | TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID| HO_TEST2 | 1 | 121 | 1 (0)| 00:00:01 |
    |* 2 | INDEX RANGE SCAN | HO_TEST2_IX1 | 1 | | 1 (0)| 00:00:01 |
Predicate Information (identified by operation id):
    1 - filter("E"."A1"=1)
    2 - access("E"."A4"='11')
As you can see in the above, the query used "HO_TEST2_IX1" instead of pk index.
I want to the query to use PK index by using oracle outline.
Modifying sql in application source and purging shared_pool are not an option.
    Thanks in advance.
    Have a good day.

Where is the outline made in this demo? Why you want to use the PK index for the query?
    Aman....
PS: Please reformat your demo using teh code tag.

  • How to create an outline around an object

    Totally frustrated.
I usually work in Illustrator but have to do this in Photoshop.
I have a photograph inside text (used a clipping mask) but now need to just OUTLINE each letter with black.  Normally, in Illustrator I would select the pen tool and outline the object without a fill color.  But in photoshop I can't do it.  How do I simply outline an object?  Seems simple enough but I can not figure it out.
    HELP!!!!

    Try Layer: Layer Style: Stroke.
