How to work two seperate projects

How do you work on two separate projects in iMovie? I start a new project and all my progress in another project disappears. I start new events but that doesn't let me start a new movie

How to merge projects is covered in detail on my site. It may be though that the way the links have been set up will not be the same way links would ordinarily be set up in merged help.
For that reason you might want to consider other options.
1] Link the Framemaker content to Project B. That however would also likely have link issues.
2] Use something like ZoomSearch instead of RoboHelp's search. That would be run against the output that you are already creating. ZoomSearch is also covered on my site.

I have a rule in my distribution model. But when i add another rule then the second rule works but first rule stops working.
I want to know how to implement two Rules together. Say if i have two rules R1 and R2 in a distribution model.
Then how to implement
1.R1 AND R2 functionality --- means do filtering if it passes both the rules
2.R2 OR R2 functionality --- means do filtering if it passes any one of the rules or both the Rules

F1, F2 etc., are referred to the node attributes whatever you have selected in the distribution rule.
While creating distribution rule, Second screen will be the selection of criteria fields (Node attributes) on which you want filter the data. These fields are referred by vinod as F1, F2 etc.,
So, your data will be filtered based on the AND condition between the criteria fields used in a rule.
So, In a specific rule AND condition will be used between the fileds.
Between two or more rules, it will be OR condition to filter the data.

How to work on same project both in studio and on the road?

OK, so I do all my work on a macbook pro. My home setup includes an array of external hard drives but I would like to work on my project while Im traveling this weekend.
My project has several different sequences...SO, how can I export all material from one sequence on to a portable firewire drive, work on it on the road(same computer,different drive), then once back home continue where I left off with my normal drives back on line?
I don't want to export ALL the scratch disk due to size, just what's being used on a particular sequence.
Is this scenario possible? I assume I will use "media manager" and I assume if I do ANY rendering that those clips will need to be transfered back to original drives from the portable?
Ideas?

Can't be done. If you media manage only the footage used in the cut, edit, then try to link your sequence to the full sized footage, it won't. FCP looks at REEL, TC start and stop and duration. If anything doesn't match, then it won't connect. If you want to edit on the road, you either need to bring a copy of the FULL clips used in the sequence (an option in the Media Manager COPY function...just don't choose DELETE UNUSED MEDIA), or you can RECOMPRESS (again, in MM) all the the footage to a smaller size (offline RT) and edit that. Then reconnect to the full res version when you come back.

How to work on a project on multiple machines with reconforming everything?

I often work on the same CS5.5 project between three different locations.
Usually I carry the media files on a portable RAID, and the project files reside in a Dropbox folder in my documents. Even if I set up Premiere to keep media cache files next to the originals (though I prefer to have them on a seperate RAID0 drive) the whole project gets reconformed/reindexed when I open it in each new computer, which obviously takes time. Presumably this reconforming happens because the media cache database on each new computer doesn't recognise the .cfa and .pek and .ims files in the media cache folder as belonging to the existing project. Is there a way to "fool" the media cache database into using the existing .cfa and .pek and .ims files rather then generating new ones for each computer?

I migrate Projects with external FW-800's all of the time. To ease working on those Projects, I locate all of my Scratch Disk, Same as Project, and everytihng is always there, and ready for use. I do give up a bit of ultimate performance with this configuration, but never have any issues.
One thing that I do for each external is to assign the same, unique drive letter to it in the OS of each computer. Have you done this? Does your RAID box come up with the same drive letter in each computer - always?

I want to create two seperate email folders in Outlook 2011. I want one folder that is for personal and one folder that is business. just simply unchecking the group similar folders box does not accomplish this. Has anyone done this? can you help?

How to work on one project but with two different computers

I'm editing a movie.
My computer might be overwhelmed with all the information - speed is slowed and it gets hot quickly.
I would like to use my second computer where I have cloud installed
to edit on the same timeline or in a different sequence to give my
main computer a rest.
Is that possible?

Hello,
I have a couple questions about working with FCP X folders, projects, etc. So basically, I have all of my Macs home sync excluding the "Movies, Pictures and Music" section with those having dedicated AFP shares on my Lion Xserve. I figured out the Aperture and iTunes part and it works very well for me using the "Home Sharing" and "Merge" library feature in Aperture and iTunes. How would I go about doing something similar with all of my video projects? When I am activelty working on projects, I want them to be in the "Movies" portion of the computers home folder, but I would like to be able to then store it on the "Video" AFP share I have on my server for archival purposes and accessing them on my other netwokred Macs. How would I do this? Do I just drag the stuff from the video folder? Will FCP X on other Macs open this succesfully? Sorry if I sound stupid, but I am very new to FCP X, switching from FCS.

Is there a way to have two separate Itunes downloaded on the same computer for two different Ipods? My sister got a new Ipod and she wants to hook it up to the computer but when ever she does it just pulls up my Itunes and has all of my songs on there. How can we each have our own Itunes?

There's many ways to accomplish this. You could create two accounts in Windows. That way everything is completely separate. Or, you could manually manage your music in iTunes -- this way it won't automatically sync your music onto her iPod. More info here:

How to send two seperate queries from OBI and combine the results

Hello all,
I am trying to understand how to combine results of two queries in OBI. Here is the scenario.
There are three tables, User, Security Roles joined though a Bridge Table Role_User
Each user has multiple roles, The roles to which a user has access is identified by a flag column with value T or else it will have value F.
I am trying to create an analysis as below
User Id
Roles with Access
Roles without Access
So column 2 will show all the roles with flag T for particular user and column 2 will show all the roles with flag F for same user.
I tried creating two Fact tables and using Filter condition on the flag value, but in analysis I could only use one at a time. When I add both the columns , I get error as None of the fact table are compatible with the query request. I do have hierarchies created for the dimensions and assigned them in the content level for all dims and facts.

I added this SQL code in the advanced tab:

My client wishes to have two pivot tables, one showing positive results and the other showing negative results.
For Example:
DIMENSION
BUSINESS A          1000

BUSINESS C          100

Is it possible to then select the different DIMENSION with one select column for both?

How to merge two seperate free space into single partition/volume???

Hey guys :)
Please help me on merging two unallocated free spaces in my internal harddisk. I already tried searching for options in diskmanagement but nothing found to do that. The harddisk has two free spaces(1gb and 50.78gb) now, I want to merge them into single one
and finally as a single parition/volume. Is there any other method or should use any other third party tool?
I really wanted to attach a screenshot but sadly microsoft couldn't allow me.

How to combine two premiere pro CS4 projects?

A friend and I are both editing a video project we shot last week for a college project. We have each been working on seperate parts of the video and now we want to combine the two parts for the finished product. We would like to combine the two projects in Premiere pro so they are still editable.. We dont want to export as individual movie files and combine that way..

Thanks for the help guys.. Importing the file works but it only gives me a big long sequence clip of my friends work and it seems to be all over the place.. What I need is the exact layers etc from my friends file.. How can I do that?
The reason the sequence clip is not adequate is that we are being marked based on an overall premiere pro project file so our teacher can see exactly the edits etc we have made and where we have added sound/fx on the timeline.I know I can chop up the sequence clip into the sections I need but im hoping there is an easier more suitable way for what I need.
Im not sure if what I am asking is possible but if it is I would greatly appreciate someone breaking it down for me..

How do I get my music from my account on old computer to new computer? And how do I have two seperate itunes accounts on one computer?

I had my music on my itunes on my old computer (pc), and need to move it to my husband's computer. My husband and I both have iphones and want to keep using our seperate itunes accounts on one computer, as we both have our own media set up on our accounts. I had burned my music from the old computer onto discs and imported onto the new one...works in the library but I can't put them into playlists, which means I can't put the music on my iphone. As for using two seperate accounts on one computer, it was suggested to me to make another profile on windows (vista), and use the second account on that profile. I did that and have had such a frustrating time trying to get this to work. I don't know if I've done something wrong, but it's just headache after headache. Somehow my apps even ended up on my husband's account? Also, how can we share music between our profiles? It seems ridiculous that we should have to buy an album twice just because we have to different accounts. I would be willing to create a third joint account with my husband, but only if we can still have our own music, apps, etc, and can somehow transfer the music we have to this new account...if possible. Suggestions please???? I'm so close to pulling out my hair over this!!!

You'll need to copy the music currently on your iPod to your new PC and into iTunes first before you can sync it to the new iPod.

Update projects and events from previous versions of iMovie in iMovie (2014) - Apple Support
you can update from iMovie versions 7, 8 and 9, but iMovie HD is iMovie 6.
Maybe you can update in two steps, first from iMovie 6 to iMovie 7, 8 or 9 then to iMovie 10.
