HP 2010i

My monitor buttons seems damaged as i am getting locked out regularly. I have tried to correct this using the reset method but I suspect the internal contact for the button needs to wither be replaced or adjusted.
Has any one had a similar issue?
How do I open the 2010i monitor, to adjust thes buttons?

Well the first thing I would suggest if you are in warranty is to contact HP since the monitor likely needs repaired.
if you are outside of warranty than here is a link to the disassembly instructions for the monitor http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/globalcitizenship/environment/productdata/Countries/_MultiCountry/disassemb... it goes into how to completely dismantle everything which you don't need to do, but you need to at least get to the point that you can disconnect the front panel. You can then try popping the buttons out and reseating them.

my HP 2010i monitor is displaying a power buttom lockout message and goes black once in a while. It also turns off

To disable 'power button lockout' hold the power button about 30 sec.
If the monitor turns off then it's maybe more a pc problem?
    Does it shows 'no signal'?

  • HP 2010i monitor- Flickering after coming out of hibernation

When I turn the monitor on, or wake the monitor back up after it has gone to sleep, the screen flickers for a minute or so, gradually lessens, then stops flickering. It appears to be the backlight leds flickering around the perimeter of the screen (my guess). It is connected by DVI cable to my tower, the connection seems fine. Monitor is about 3 years old and is out of warranty. Is this something that can be fixed (worth repairing?), or is it just dying a slow death and I need to shop for a new one?

    Hello @tgantt,
I understand that you get flickering after waking from sleep mode on your computer. I am providing you with some steps you can try below:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it
Step 6. Replace the cable connecting the monitor to your computer
If the above steps did not resolve your issue you can try installing the HP 2010i 20-inch Diagonal LCD Monitor Drivers on your computer. If the issue still persists I recommend that you download and install the latest graphic drivers for your computer.

  • No signal message on HP 2010i using HPs500O Series desktop

    Hello,
The issue that I am having is with the HPs5000 Series model # s5710f desktop. and HP 2010i monitor. The monitor displays the no signal message and then goes to sleep. I have tried to access the menu on the monitor to no avail. I have plugged the monitor with its own cables into another computer and it works fine. When the desktop is plugged into another monitor it does not work.  I was using the computer just the other day with no problems.  The other issue, I do not know if it is related, is that sometimes I have problems with it coming out of the sleep mode and have to manually shut it down. The only suggestion that I have seen is to open the desktop and clean it with a can of air. I was wondering if this would be my solution or if it would be someting else.
    Thank You

    HI massey76:
I regret that you are having an issue. If the monitor works on another computer, then the monitor itself is functioning. I am sending information for both troubleshooting the monitor, and the computer. HP 2010i 20 inch Diagonal LCD Monitor support click here.  Computer Does Not Start (Windows 7) click here. I am unsure of what operating system you are running, so I just selected Windows 7.  If this has not resolved your issue, would you please provided me the exact model of computer you have. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number click here. • DVI Signal Not Working Properly in Hp 2010i Monitor

    Hi Team,
My Name is Rubhan and i Purchased a Hp2010i 20" LCD Monitor 3 weeks back. I just installed an ATI Radeon 4670 HD Graphics Card in my System which comes with a DVI Port(Default), Since there was no DVI Cables Supplied by the Manufacturer, i had to Buy a Seperate Cable and Install it to the system.... At first, the monitor went to sleep since there was no Signal from Graphics Card, but later on, after a minute Windows screen appeared and didn't last for more than few Seconds and Vanished again(this happens every time wen i restart or kept System in Idle)... I doubted Both the Graphics card and Cable to be at fault and Checked it in my Old Computer System. But Both the devices were Performing Normal and good. I checked the entire CPU with another LG LCD Monitor and Found it Working Great....I admite that my Monitor is Working great without Graphics card in VGA, But  I wud like to Know Reason or solution to this issue. I m happy that there is Direct DVI i/p option in Hp Monitor(which other Brands doesnt posses) and therefore no DVI-VGA Coverters required.

The only thing I can think of right now would be drivers.
Make sure you have the latest ATI drive for the 4670, here is a link to AMD's website.

  • Monitor HP 2010i sleep problems

My computer worked before we moved it from one side of the room to the other. Power it on and it says no signal and the monitor goes to sleep. Can't get past that. Moving back and it does the same. Can anyone help me? P.s. unplugged.. detached connections..pressed down power button holding 20 seconds several times .

Well just paid $100 to extend my warranty ..couldn't afford it but well worth it...he had me do all of that...power off and on..nothing worked until he said to unplug the power source from the back of the tower..unscrew the tom screw (Phillips and flat combined) that holds the side panel...did that..removed gently the dust..three cards held together with white clips on each end.pop open clips.. remove card one at a time..when removed then placed right back in..press firmdown until clips snap shut on their own. Do that to all three.I have the green board for the background inside..place cover back on..plug in power source and it worked!!!!! Hope this saves someone $100

  • Monitor 2010i

My monitor appears to be in automatic sleep mode. It turns on and after 2 seconds the screen is blank. The monitor is still on and if I turn it off and on it will have a picture and then two seconds later it's back blank. I have tested another monitor and I even replaced the videos cord.

    Hello @mecal72,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I undestand that your monitor is going directly into sleep mode and you require assistance.
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it
If the above steps did not resolve your issue you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the issue persists. If it does I think it would be best if you contact HP Technical Support for repair options.

  • In trying to update I received this message: Firefox 3.6.3(2).dmg.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

In trying to download an update I first received: "There were problems checking for, downloading, or installing this update. Firefox could not be updated because: No data was received (please try again)" It also gave a link to download manually. When I tried from the Firefox website I got: /Users/(deleted for privacy)/Desktop/Firefox 3.6.3(2).dmg.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.
Try again later, or contact the server administrator. I tried this 3 times.

  • Unable to log in to user account after installing windows 7 using Bootcamp

    Hi everyone,
I need help. I have been at it for days, I have googled every which way but I am not able to fix this. Basically my problem is that I am unable to log in to my user account after I used Bootcamp to install windows 7. I will explain what I did up until I couldn't log in.
I backed up my user account using Time Machine(I was logged in as the user). The account had FileVault activated and I neglected to disable FileVault before back up. I just didn't think to, it did not even occur to me! Then I partitioned Macintosh HD, I was doing this with my step son and he thought we were supposed to partition the hard drive first before running Bootcamp! After that was done, I couldn't run Bootcamp because obviously we had whipped the HD clean! Anyway, I reinstalled the OS X using the internet, after which I run Bootcamp and successfully installed windows 7. Then I went on to restore my account using Time Machine, only when I try to log in I get the error message "you are unable to log in to the user account at this time". I tried every possible solution I could find on here, including creating a new admin account, deleting the old account but saving the user folder and then routing the new account to the old user folder. Still nothing. I have tried logging in as a root user, reset the master password and deleted FileVault files from Library/keychain in the hope I would access the user account, but to no avail. What's more is that I can't even see the sparse bundle or sparse image files that people keep referring too. I can't even find it on the Time Machine back up! I then thought I would cut my losses and try system recovery using Stellar Phoenix Mac Data Recovery (cost me £81) but it did not recover any of my photos, music, videos or documents.
I honestly can't come to terms with the fact that I am unable to login to an account with 3 years worth of pictures and documents. I am having a hard time letting go. Is there anyway possible to crack this?
    Thank you in advance.
By the way, I am running Mountain Lion OX 10.8.4 on MacBook mid 2010

I have this exact problem. Installed Bootcamp on a networked iMac running Mountain lion and and can no longer log in to my Mac user account. Would love if any of the pro users on here can shed a bit of light.

    I'm sorry, I don't understand the issue.
from syslog:  eth0: SiS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet at 0xd400, IRQ 11, 00:0a:e6:1f:fd:1e
    from ifconfig: eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:0A:E6:1F:FD:1E
The mac addresses all match  eth0 is the sis 9000.  And, lspci tells us the sis900 kernel module is loaded
Is the issue that you don't have an IP address?  We can fix that (I think )

  • I'm trying to sync my firefox and it won't accept my password.

Firefox Sync won't accept my password and when I tried to reset it I keep getting hung up on the "An unexpected error occurred. If this continues, please contact support." response after filling out the "Reset Password" fields. I wan't to sync Firefox for this pc. How can I get around this?
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often
    == Today: Wednesday 28 July 2010

I solved the problem. Apparently, when I tried to sign up in sync the first time, it didn't go through. All I had to do is re-apply. I used the same username and everything (that's how I know it didn't go throught the first time). My Firefox is now synced and there are no further problems.
    P.S.
If only I could sync my Firefox bookmarks, calender and notes with Opera, Safari and Chrome. That'd be great. I like using different browsers for different purposes. When I need the browser to disappear so all I see is what's in the window, Opera works best. Firefox can't disable the tool-bar "Auto-hide" feature in full screen mode. And Safari doesn't have a Hot-key for full-screen. At least not that I've seen.

  • Why does iCal list birthdays 3, 4, 5 even 6 times on the date??

This is getting worse! Instead of the birthday appearing once on each birthdate, I now get 3 or 4 and in some cases even 6 of the exact same "all day" list of birthdays!
In the past I have tried to delete all but 1 - but now they are back in greater numbers than before!
Is there a way to eliminate all these numerous birthdate announcements and then restart iCal to have it just take the ones from Address Book and list one time, not many?
I have MenuCalendarClock for iCal installed but have NOT chosen to have MenuCalendarClock set-up any birthdays or transfer anything.
Thanks as this is getting a bit crazy! And I don't want to NOT HAVE ANY birthdays- I like having them and the alarms etc.
    Best regards,
    Steve Schulte

I have the same issue, but I think I know why. I believe it is becasue you may have more than one contact list synced. I have got my contacts synced with Yahoo and I think iCal is also listing the birthdays on these contacts along side the same birthdays for the contacts stored on my machine. I only get 1 set of birthdays if I turn of the sync with Yahoo. Kind of defeats the purpose of the sync of contacts though then!

  • Error 109C ImportProcessServer.exe while importing a .mp4 clip in PPRO CS4 ver 4.2.1

I just purchase Adobe Premiere Pro a few days ago - and subsequently updated it to Ver 4.2.1.  A started a new project - I tried to import some video footage I just shot with a GOPro Hemet Cam while skiing at our local mountain.  I can easlily see the clip using Real Media Player - or the Quick Time player.  It is a 10.9 MB ... 7 second MPEG-4 movie clip.  File name is "gopro0030.mp4"
I created a "bin" called video .... then right clicked to import the file.  You can see the file name in the media browser.  But the file would not import.  I received this error message:  "109C ImporterProcessServer.exe  Application Error.  The instruction at "0x05efcac" referenced memory at "0x00000014".  The memory could not be read. CLick OK to terminate."
This is very frustrating - I just purchased the software - and it won't import a 7 second video clip!  It did import still fotos with no problem.  What can I do?
thank you for your attention to this.

    March 14th 2010

I would just like to add that I have also tried to change to extension of the file from .mp4 to .mov
After doing that - I was able to import the file .... 1280x960 (1.0) Alpha 29.97 fps - thats what it says ..... but the file is just a black screen - even when I drag it into the timeline.
    thank you
