    Good night,
I bought a LG IPS Monitor 23 inch 23EA53 and connect it with an HDMI monitor spanning works, but with a slight drizzle white and red on the screen, also tested it with an adapter Mini Display Port to DVI, but this unfortunately also this with errors ... after a while it clears hers Monitor LG, what is happening with my Macbook Pro?

    Hi mwc6zp,
I have come across exactly the same issue.  Same monitor, same laptop model and year, same everything.  The only way I can get it to work is by using the standard HDMI input to the laptop.
Were you ever able to work around this?

  • [SOLVED] IPS Monitor Resolution Not Detected

I just got one of the new Catleap 27" IPS monitors. It works fine in Windows at its native 2560x1440 but arch doesn't seem to be detecting it properly

    640x480 59.9
DP-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
DVI-I-3 is my second monitor (a regular LCD) which works fine. I think DVI-I-2 is the Catleap. Oddly, the manual says it supports 800x600 but it won't even turn on when X is started. Also it works fine when X isn't started. Whenever I switch to a different TTY my second monitor turns off and the Catleap turns on (albeit at a low resolution).
I've tried adding a new resolution mode with xrandr, but that gives me an error
    # xrandr --newmode "2560x1440_60.00" 312.25 2560 2752 3024 3488 1440 1443 1448 1493 -hsync +vsync

Minor opcode of failed request: 18 (RRAddOutputMode)
Serial number of failed request: 37
Current serial number in output stream: 38
I've tried various xorg.conf settings and using nvidia-settings, but nothing I do can get it to use a higher resolution or even turn on for that matter. I'm not sure if my dual monitor setup could be screwing with it. I've tried disconnecting my second monitor but that doesn't seem to help.
I found this article, which says that the Catleap's EDID isn't in Linux by default so you can specify it manually. So I set up my xorg.conf.d directory as follows
    # 90-serverlayout.conf
    Section "ServerLayout"
    Identifier "Main"
    Screen 0 "Acer V243"
    Screen 1 "Catleap Q270" LeftOf "Acer V243"

    Option "DynamicTwinView" "FALSE"
    EndSection
Which doesn't work. The Catleap still won't turn on and the mouse position is all screwed up on my Acer. If I comment out the screen 1 line in the ServerLayout, the Acer works fine on its own.

  • Anyone with an IPS monitor getting headaches?

I just bought a new ASUS IPS (in plane switching, supposedly newer and better technology) monitor after my poor ACD died after 6 years. I notice an increase in headaches and bliurred vision that I never had with my ACD. Does anybody happen to have an IPS monitor and similar problems?

    Try turning the brightness down.

  • Yamakasi Catleap 2703 display?  (inexpensive huge IPS monitor - but is it compatible?

Anyone used a Yamakasi Catleap 2703 IPS display with their mac?  It looks like a great value in the 2560x1600 27" size ($325) but on EBay they state they are not Mac compatible for some reason.  It requires a dual dvi d connection, but I would suspect the mini displayport to dual link dvi adapter would work(  http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB571Z/A/mini-displayport-to-dual-link-dvi-ada pter)

Never heard of it. When I Googled, my top hits were from eBay. If you're looking for a really good IPS monitor that is Mac compatible (and I think it very telling that the ad states that the monitor is not Mac compatible), Amaxon has the 24" Dell UltraSharp U2412M at a good price. Definitely not a 27", but a very good IPS monitor at a very good price.

  • S-ips monitor - is it preferred ?

I will be purchasing a new monitor. I have recently been informed of ips monitors. I do mostly video and photo edting , in Premiere and Photoshop. I don't know if the ips type monitors will be best for my use. I am considering a Dell ultra sharp model 2411 or 2412 and a HP zr 24 , both are 24 inch .Or would I be better off with a 27 inch " regular" type monitor.
Cost will be around 340 dollars for either situation . I currently use a hp 22 inch monitor and will be getting a new computer optimized for video editing . Whatever monitor I get it must be height adjustable . Thanks , Ray

Be aware that there are different flavours of IPS, although all are still better than TN.  See a recent review of the Dell 2412 on Tom's Hardware http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/s242hl-bid-u2412m-t24a550,3016.html

  • 25bw IPS monitor

Never again will I buy a HP monitor. 2 1/2 months after the warranty expires, a red line appears on the right side of the screen going straight down. Called up the tech support and they try to sell me the same one for "a reasonable price". Why would I buy the same monitor that malfunctions a couple months after the warranty is gone. No thank you. I've had my IPS monitor for over 2 years, not a dang thing wrong with it. Of course I upgraded to an ASUS IPS 27"...which I'm now forced to use because I refuse to use a defected monitor...but yeah. Way to go HP. You just lost yourself a customer.

  • Are ips monitors compatible with imac mini

can 27 inch ips monitor be used with imac mini

    Hi,
It's ok to use bigger monitor/screen but you need an adapter as mentioned:

  • IPS monitoring

Can an IPS module monitor traffic for (2) 6500s working in load balancing mode?

When you say IPS module, do you mean an in-chassis one like an IDSM2, or an external one?
An external one can use a SPAN from each core to take 'copies' of the traffic you want, but you have to watch for oversubscription and overall IDS throughput.
Even the internal IDSM2 can only technically handle 600mbps throughput, so can be oversubscribed.
The one thing "funny" I've seen in my 4 years with the SPAN/6500/external IDS (4250XL I think) is that I get a lot of spoofing messages; my guess is that it's related to the duplication of messages in the 2 SPAN ports (which span specific VLANs) feeding the single IDS.
If this helps, please drop it a quick rating..
    Thanks!

  • CS4 and IPS monitor???

I came to realize that my old basic LCD monitor was making my results in CS4 really bad.  Last night I received my Dell 2410U IPS LCD monitor and I am floored!  What a difference.  I set it up DVI and went to Adobe RGB, and now I need to wear sun glasses to view the monitor ;-)  Anyway, when I open RAW (also using Adobe RGB) everything has a yellow tint.  After altering my photo as best I can with this yellow tint, SAVE, then CLOSE I go to reopen the new JPEG photo and it is better than I could have imagined!
My question is, Is the yellow tint in RAW normal?  Is there a way to remove this tint?  It makes it hard to determine what needs to be done with this tint.  Oh, after I am done in RAW, but before I close, while in CS4 (finally tweaking) the yellow tint stays present...only after I SAVE/.jpeg/CLOSE, then reopen does the yellow tint go away.
    Any HELP is appreciated.

Russell, I agree. I talked to Adobe Thursday and came up with a reasonable alternative, though.
The image will always snap open inside the application "frame," and at the upper left, whether tabbed or not. So here's what I was able to do (my calibrated monitor for my image is on the right, the monitor on the left is not where I want my image for editing):
I put my CS4 application window on the right monitor. All of my palettes are docked on my left monitor and they show up immediately there when opening CS4. So on monitor right, I have the menus at the top, my tools palette, and my image(s). On monitor left I have palettes only; my histogram, layers palette, actions palette, character palette, and so on. They are "floating" over my desktop or whatever application I have open, like my web browser or email. This is an adjustment I'm still getting accustomed to, but works great and is even more convenient in some ways because my commands (file, edit, etc.) are directly above my image yet do not really steal from the image real estate.
I had always thought the palettes needed to stay inside the application "frame". I did not realize they would sit alone on my left monitor and default to that monitor upon opening CS4 even though CS4 itself is on the right monitor.
    Hope this explanation makes sense.
    Two "quirks":
    - if you don't use tabbed mode, maximizing your image to fit the screen totally overlays the file menu, etc. at the top of the CS4 application. Weird and a bummer! I'm ok working in tabbed mode 99% of the time, though, so not a huge deal. But why they did this is not intuitive to me.
    - for the setup that I described above to work, I think I finally decided you need to turn off "Enable Floating Document Window Docking" in preferences. I went through so many combinations of these settings that I can't remember for sure, but I think this is the case. Everything is working great for me, and this function is turned off (not 100% sure whether it matters, though).

  • IPS Monitor

Is there any advantage to switching from a regular LCD monitor to an IPS LCD monitor if I don't use color calibration hadware and software?

I have a couple ideas you could look at, but no guarantees.
Try a different type of connector (If you're using DVI switch to HDMI etc...)
Do a factory reset on the monitor.
Mine has a button labelled reset, but yours lists the factory reset as part of your onscreen controls so it should be part of your menu when you hit the Auto or Autoselect button.

  • IPS monitoring Events Notes

    Dear all,
I have a group of IPS/IDS installed in our network monitoring multiple segments.
Usually, and for years I do find always events with matching severity high or medium in addition to low and informational.
From around two months and till now, while monitoring those IPS/IDS I noticed that I am not finding any event with severity High or Medium although before there was daily logs with the high & Medium Severity and all the group of IPS / IDS is affected with the same behavior not only on one device.
I will be happy if everything is running normally with no matching severity, but I am afraid that there is something wrong with the monitoring of our IPS /IDS Systems.
I find logs with low and informational severity only.
Please advise if I can do any troubleshooting
    Regards,

I will assume you have not changed anything on your sensors to explain this difference. It can be accounted for by the normal signature update process. Cisco will phase out (retire) or modify old or poorly performing signatures (prone to false positives) over time. In order to test this idea, take some of the old medium and high severity signature that used to fire and check what their current setting are in your sensors. If they're retired or have been updated, this may account for the difference.

  • 22xi IPS monitor

    Hello,
this morning, after 2 and half year of continuous work, my monitor suddently started to have problems in the quality of the image displayed. Actually the problem it is shown both when it is connected to my PC and when it is disconnected. The image is not stable vertically but continuously moves and rolls. It seems to have problem of vsynch but it is just my opinion. What can I do? Is there something I can fix in the menu? Or otherwise there is the need for technical assistance and repair? Thanks to all that can give me an answer.
