HP 6110 issues in SL

I got my mom a mini after telling her for years that macs are better. Now i feel like an idiot because her printer doesnt work well at all.
The printer is an HP Officejet 6110. It prints ok but after the mini sleeps and wakes up it refuses to print any more and i have to reboot just to get it to print. The printer queue says there is some kind of communication failure.
I cant figure out what the problem is and if i cant get it fixed i'll just have to return the mini and stick with her old pc, which i'd rather not do.

Well, I assume you mean plugged into the USB port on a ReadyNAS Duo. In that case you are talking about a third party USB print server. I do not know what kind of interfaces the ReadyNAS exposes so its quite possible the print drivers for Snow Leopard will give you nothing other then basic printing. If I look at the ReadyNAS site, the HP Officejet 6110 is not on the supported devices list. Of course that all that means is they haven't tested it themselves. A quick search of the forums over there found some similar problems but no solutions.
Just trying to help.

  • Using HP Officejet 6110 and Officejet 6500 wireless issues

I have been using an HP Offciejet 6110 printer for a long time with an HP laptop running WINXP. I purchased a new HP laptop running WIN7.  The WIN7 laptop will print to the 6110 in color only and doesn't allow the HP Imagimg Director software to work.
I recently purchased a new HP Officejet 6500 wireless printer and set that up to run off the HP laptop with WIN7 using the full software install.  That seems to be working OK.
I then setup theold  XP laptop using only the drivers for the Officejet 6500 so I could still use the Officejet 6110 from that computer and all the scanning and other features of the HP Imageing Director software.   But it appears that the Officejet 6500 drivers have scewed up the Officejet 6110 software drivers on the XP laptop. How do I get this computer back to using the 6110 as normal (which was very useful) but be able to use the 6500 as an optional printer without all the 6500 features?

    Hi dresdenron,
Thanks for clarifying the issue again. I was a bit confused.
How is the Officejet 6500 and Officejet 6110 setup on the Windows XP? (USB, Wireless)
Both models use completely different software. So there shouldn't be any interference even if the full software had been installed for the Officejet 6500. If both printers are connected by a USB cable, then the Officejet 6500 might have taken over the port and therefore causing the scan not to work.
What happens when you try to scan? (error message)
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the Officejet 6110. This way it will be recognized on the new port assigned.
    Uninstalling the Printer Software.
HP Officejet and PSC Full Feature Software and Driver.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
The Officejet 6110 is a Windows Update for Windows 7. There is no HP Imaging Director software available to run on Windows 7. Installing the Printer Software in Windows 7 for a USB Cable Connection.
Please provide in detail the results. If I missed anything, just let me know.

  • How to increase speed of analog read using PCI 6110 and LabView 7.1?

    Hi All,
I'm a fairly novice user of LabView and I'm trying to figure out how to make my system as fast as possible. Basically, I'm reading in an analog signal (AI0) together with a trigger signal (PFI0) and I want to sample the analog signal on the falling edge of the trigger signal. What I'm finding, though, is that the acquisition rate of this system is excessively slow. My analog signals occur faster than 1 kHz, but the speed of my system is only about 100 Hz. A colleague of mine told me that the DAQmx Trigger.vi I was using was probably the culprit for the slow performance I was observing. Could this be right? If so, how could I resolve this issue?
Another thought I had was to input the trigger signal into the external source input of the DAQmx Timing.vi. In this way I'd be using the trigger signal as an external clock. If operated in Continuous mode, then I think the Sample Clock would cause a sample to be read only when the trigger signal changes its state (from high to low). Could this work?
    Thanks for reading,
    Ben

    Hi Marni,
Thank you so much for your post! I tried doing as you suggested, using the Cont Acq&Graph Voltage-Ext Clk-Dig Start.vi and I first set the trigger signal as the external clock source. It works beautifully! Now, with 1.6 kHz signal in, I'm reading in 1.6 kSa/s. This is a dramatic improvement from before. I also tried using the internal clock source option, but it didn't seem to trigger when I wanted it to. I didn't spend too much time debugging it, though, since the other method works so well. This brings up an interesting question. Is the DAQmx Trigger.vi really that slow? Previously, I could read in 100 kSa/s at best using the Trigger VI. Anyways, I'm a happy camper now:-)
By the way, to answer your question about the DAQ device, I'm using the NI PCI 6110 Multifunction DAQ.
    Thanks again!

  • Iteration Speed issue when Indexing 3D array wried to a while-loop

    Brief Description of my Program:
I am working on the real-time signal generation by using LabView and DAQmx (PCI-6110 card). My vi reads the big data file (typically 8MB txt file containing about 400,000 samples (complex double precision). Then, the signal is pre-processed and I end up with a huge 3D array to feed while-loop (typically 3D array dimension is N x 7 x M where N & M >> 7). Inside the loop, that 3D array is indexed and processed before the results are written to the DAQmx outputs. I have a speed issue when indexing the large 3D array (i.e, 3D array having a large sub-array size). My while-loop could not run fast enough to top-up the DAQmx AO buffer (at the output rate of 96kHz). It could run faster only if I use smaller 3D array (i.e, smaller-sized sub-arrays). I do not quite understand why the size of 3D sub-array affects the rate of looping although I am indexing same sub-array size at each iteration. I really appreciate your comments, advices and helps.
I include my 3D array format as a picture below.
    Question on LabView:
How does indexing an 3D array which wires to the while-loop affect the speed of the loop iteration? I found that large dimension of sub-arrays in the 3D array slows down the iteration speed by comparing to indexing the same size of sub-array from smaller-sized sub-arrays of the 3D array to perform signal processing inside the while-loop. Why? Is there any other way of designing LabView Program to improve speed of iteration?
    attachment:

Thank you all for your prompt replies and your interests. I am sorry about my attachment. But, I have now attached a jpg format image file as you suggested.
I had read the few papers on large data handling such as "LabVIEW Performance and Memory Management". Thus, I had already tried to avoid making unnecessary copies of data and growing arrays in my while-loop. I am not an expert on LabView, so I am not sure if the issues I have are just LabView fundamental limitations or there are any other ways to improve the iteration speed without reducing the input file size and DAQ output rate.
As you request, I also attach my top-level vi showing essential sections such as while-loop and its indexing. The attached file is as an image jpg format because the actual vi including Sub-VIs are as big as 3MB in total. I hope my attachment would be useful for anyone who would like to reply my question. If anyone would like to see my whole vi & llb files, I would be interesting to send it to you by an e-mail privately and thus please provide your e-mail address.
The dimension of my 3D array is N x 7 x M (Page x Row x Column), where N represents number of pages in 3D array, and M represents the size of 1D array.  The file I am currently using forms 3D array of N = 28, & M = 10,731.  Refering to the top-level vi picture I attached, my while-loop indexes each page per iteration and wrap-around.  The sub-VI called "channel" inside the while-loop will further index its input (2D array) into seven of 1D arrays for other signal processsing.  The output from that "channel" sub-VI is the superposition of those seven arrays.  I hope my explaination is clear.

  • Just installed HP BIOS Update. HP 6110 all in one printer no longer works.

Just installed HP BIOS Update.  System no longer recognizes my printer (6110 all-in-one).  HP web site says driver is in OS and should be recognized, but only driver that is close is 6100 series and it does not work.

    Hey thecityhouse,
When you are selecting the driver from the available drivers list did you make sure to press the Windows Update button at the bottom right to prepopulate the list?  This may have to be performed to get the proper driver for your printer.
If this does not work, then I would take a look at the information in the post found here.  It may provide a workaround to the issue you are experiencing.
    Hope this helps,
    Jason

  • 6110 Navigator - doesn't see other BT devices

This is really starting to give me the sh*ts.
I cannot see any other bluetooth devices with my 6110 Navigator, even when the other device is 5cm away.
I recently purchased a "Pilot-mini" BT hands-free (think similar to Blue Ant "Lite") and my 6110 can't see it, even if it's right next to it.
Checked (& rechecked) that I was trying to pair the two as per the instructions, both from Nokia & Cellnet (hands-free manufacturer) but phone won't see/recognise the hands-free unit.
Have tried pairing with a different BT hands-free - same result. I can't even pair with another mobile with BT. The other mobile has to establish connection, as mine can't/wont see it.
Any ideas anyone? Something is really screwy with this.

The very first thing I would do is Plug in anything you want to use and restart your machine and see if everything is there now.  Sometimes you should be able to just plug in a peripheral device and it will or should automatically show up on your desktop. Often a simple restart will solve the issue. I have found that if you have several different Applications open they will not show up on your desktop, and require a restart to get things back to normal.
Good Luck and tell me if this works for you,

  • Goods and Bads with the 6110 Navigator

    Hi
New user of this forum and a proud owner of a Nokia 6110 Navigator. I had the 6280 but after 2 SW upgrades and still problem with it, I gave up.
First impression of the 6110 is good, but I found a couple of small things that ”irritates” me.
1 – The timer function when you write “0200” and press options instead of green (call) button.
2 – The original headset is too cheap to be an expensive phone like this, should be more like Koss “plug-in-your-ear” kind of headphones, instead of the small “put-close-to-your-ear” thing that is included.
Also, the straight up cable from the top of the phone is no good. Makes the phone lie bad in the pocket. I also guessing that this cable is going to snap after a while. Why not a 90 degree “adapter” or something?
3 – When you sending an SMS, on my 6280 you could choose “last used number” or something like that, now you have to choose name, and then number, and then OK to go back to the SMS.
Well.. that’s it so far. Anyone else have goods and bads about this phone ?
    mvh / regards
    Timmy

  • HP 6110 All-in-one not able to do anything but print?

I have just purchased a late 2013 27" iMac with OS X 10.9.2 and I'm trying to get my HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One printer working.  The issue is that the print function works just fine, but that's it.  I haven't been able to get the scanning function working at all.  The HP website shows specific instructions on installing the printer via the OS but it doesn't show the ability for the other funtions other than the "Generic PCL Printer" option when I try and install the printer.  Does anybody have any fixes for this?

  • Hp 6110 all-in-one always prints in color on Windows 8

I would like to print some color documents in grayscale. But I am finding that no matter what settings I use in the Print dialog panel, my documents always come out in color. I am in Windows 8.1. For example, in Microsoft Word, if you go to File->Print, the Settings list contains options for which pages to print, one-sided or two-sided, collated, etc., but there is nothing for color vs. grayscale. So, if you then click a "Printer Properties" link, you get the detailed 6110 dialog panel with multiple tabs containing the full range of printer options. Within that, if you select the "Color" tab, you can check the "Print in Grayscale" box. Click "OK" to close the detailed printer dialog, which brings you back to the Microsoft Word printer dialog, where you can then click "Print". Document still comes out in color. I have verified a similar behavior when priting color PDF documents - there is no way to make them come out in grayscale.
I suspect the driver is also not respecting my specification to use "Fast Nornal" print quality.
So, a very clever strategy for HP to sell more ink! Can you please provide a fix?
    Thanks

    Hi @UsedToWorkInHPL,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that your HP Officejet 6110 all-in-one always prints in color on Windows 8. I am happy to look into this for you!
According to your printer's specifications found at this website, Printer Specifications for HP Officejet 6100 Printer Series. This printer is only supported for these Operating Systems: Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Microsoft(R), Windows XP.
There is no full feature software and drivers for Windows 8.1 for this printer.
One option to try and get around this, is to assign an alternate driver, please see this post, How to Assign Alternate Print Drivers in Different Versions of Windows, by @Shane_R.
Otherwise, I would recommend to please call our phone support at 800-474-6836 for your upgrade options to a printer that has the software and drivers available for Windows 8.1. My 6110 HP all-in -one won't do anything but tell me that it 'needs an alignment' press 'enter'.  When I press "enter' a sheet of blank paper comes out right away and the display says,"paper Mismatch".  I have tried all the paper sizes listed, to no avail.  I can't get the printer to do anything else.  I tried reinstalling the driver disk. too, but no use.  Can anyone help me with this problem??

    Hello CrossBear,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.
Regarding the HP Officejet 6110 inquires you have about the USB cable and software, I would like to help. The USB cable needs to be USB 2.0 A-B, they are not product specific.
HP Officejet 6110 All-in-One Printer Drivers is where you can download the software and drivers for your Operating System if available. This printer does not have full feature software for Windows Vista, 7 and 8 for example.

  • Multiple PCI-6110 in one computer - Minimum Computer Specs?

I am building a computer system which will house 4 PCI-6110's. What minimum processor, RAM etc. is recommended. Also, can you mix the PCI bus speeds without adverse effects? Dell has a model that has 3 100MHz PCI slots and 1 30MHz slot. Would it be acceptable?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
In general, the specifications of a board are not dependent on the specifications of the computer. If boards use DMA, as all of our high-speed boards do now, the computer is not the factor. The main factor is the software, not the hardware. if you have LabVIEW, refer to the LabVIEW Release Notes particular to the version you have for more information about the minimum system requirements.
System performance is only an issue with single-point and continuous double-buffered operations, when the computer's ability to run a loop continuously is the only factor. Publishing specifications for double-buffered operations essentially is impossible because of the many variables present, such as buffer size, acquisition rate, bus type, bus activity, CPU activity, and
so on. Speed is an issue for single-point I/O only with digital I/O and handshaking. National Instruments does publish specifications for typical transfer rates with actual computers for boards such as the DIO-96.
Hardware specifications are not dependent on the system if the board uses DMA. The specifications are more dependent on your software and other processor activity occurring at the same time as the data acquisition.
Regarding your second question, your PCI 6110 requires a bus that has a clock speed of 33MHz, so it's definitely going to work on your first 3 slots but I am not sure if it will work on your 30MHz slot since it's too cloe from the clock speed required. It would be better if you can find a PC that has its 4 slots running at a speed faster than 33MHz just to be sure they will all work.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
    Best regards,
    LA
