HP 6150 unable to print black

Can someone please send me by private message reset instructions with printer off. I have already done the reset with pulling out power cord, as well as the one from support menu with no luck. I presume there is a third reset that cannot be posted here but only sent by private message. Please help

    Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you are running into some print quality issues on your HP Photosmart 5510, you are unable to print in black ink.
    I would like you to start here: Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages, I understand you may have done some of these steps already but I need you to complete all steps in order to resolve the missing black issue you are experiencing.
    Please note: There are three printhead cleaning stages. Complete all three stages if necessary. If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes after the last (third) cleaning stage to start the first stage of the cleaning process over again.
    If you are still unable to print in black ink, I suspect the issue may be the printer and not the cartridge. Please let me know which Country/Region you are in as well as the product Warranty status: HP Warranty Checker

    I have read all 22 pages of comments and I am having the same issue of my printer not printing black print.  It prints grey.  I have tried reset, cleaning heads, replacing ink.  I have opened two new black ink packages and nothing is working. Please advise.

     I understand you are not able to print in black ink on your HP Photosmart 6510. I understand you had an Officejet 6500 that you expereinced the black ink out issue and had to replace the printhead, these 2 printers both a a different ink system so no it is not the same issue although similar. I would like you to complete ALL steps listed here : Printer Does Not Print Black or Color Ink, Or Prints Blank Pages
    If you have completed ALL troubleshooting steps and are still unable to print in black ink please reply back with your warranty status: Check your product warranty as well as your Country/Region.

    I will be more than happy to assist you but I would like to know a little bit more about the email you are trying to print.  In order to find the exact settings we need to change, I would like to know what internet web browser you are using.  Are you using Internet Explorer (blue e icon), Firefox, Google Chrome, etc?  What are you signed into? By that I mean, are you using Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, AOL, Hotmail etc?
    It will be much easier to find a setting to change if it's in the web browser or in the email settings than it will be to find it in the printer preferences under "Devices and Printers." 
    If you are using Internet Explorer, look up near the top for the word "Page" with an arrow beside it.  Click on "Page" and a drop-down menu appears.  Select "Text Size" and if it is not set to Medium but rather Larger or Largest, then you have found the problem.  I recommend Medium for print outs to be the same font size as what appears on your screen.  If that does not fix your printing font size, then please answer the questions above so I can look into it further.

    My printer is not printing black colored ink. The cartridge is brand new and when I touch the ink pad on it, it saturates black so I know that it's not an issue with the cartridge. I have the HP Photosmart 5510

  • 5512 all in one not printing black ink

    My Photosmart 5512 isn't printing black ink. It also won't align which is odd.  It doesn't "see" the alignment page when I try to scan it.   I have done all the things that the HP troubleshoot site said (test pages, cleaning printheads, quality report pages, aligning printheads) and still no luck.  It is also out of warranty.  Any and all help would be appreciated!   • MX892 won't print black

    My MX892 won't print black anymore. I have tried both the cleaning and deep cleaning procedures several times. And I have changed the ink cartridges to new ones.  Still nothing. Any suggestions on what to try next? The colors work just fine.

    Hey @camero, 
    Welcome to the HP Support Forum.  
    I understand you're unable to print black text using your HP Officejet 4622 e-All-in-One Printer.  I would like to assist you with this and have some suggestions that may improve your print quality.  
    Firstly, I recommend you perform a 'hard reset':
    1. Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
    2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
    3. Wait 60 seconds.
    4. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
    5. Press the Power button to turn on the printer. 
    Next, try making a copy of a text document from your printer's front panel.  Did it copy in black from standalone successfully?  
    If yes, the issue is likely software related.  In which case I recommend you click here to install the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows.  
    If no, the issue is likely hardware related.  I have located an article from HP that details several steps to remedy the issue.  Click on the following article heading:

    Try all of the steps in sequence listed in Solutions One through Six.  Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.

    I am thinking along the same line.
    It's interesting that some of the unaffected graphics in the document come up as embedded, but some are just placed there with no link information.
    I guess it's just a matter of how the original graphic was treated or saved.

    Both the drivers
    Canon SELPHY CP series Printer Driver 6.2 for Mac OS X 10.8       and the Apple Canon drivers
    may be needed together.  Not sure which will have to be installed before the other.   As for your iPhone, you'll have to enquire on the iPhone forum how to make it work.

    My HP Photosmart 6150 All-In-One won't print black. There is a new black cartridge and all the other inks are fine as well.  I've cleaned the printhead 3 times and all that printed was yellow.  I then  ran an alignment. The alignment failed, but it wasn't because of a paper issue. The manual says it could be that the printhead assembly or the sensor is defective. Is it worth getting that fixed, or should I just get a new printer? I've had this one for 8 years and it's worked great until now.

I am happy to look into this issue for you!  According to this guide, Color Mix or Missing Colors on the Diagnostic Page, it states: Missing colors occur when the printhead nozzles dry out. Since you have tried cleanign the printhead multiple times, and the issue is still occuring, I would consider having the printer serviced/or replaced. Please contact HP, phone support for further assistance.     I have recently installed Aperture 3.1,  but my Canon MG6150 has been unable to print photos of good quality from the Aperture print engine
    and I have to return to iPhoto to obtain prints I am happy with.

    I have now to reply to my own question having later found a thread over another canon printer with the answer. In the second print dialog box you click on "show details" and then on "layout". The following schreen shots make this clear. The settings can then be saved as a preset.
    It's a pity the Canon helpdesk was not able to give me this information. I hope that this will help others with similar problems.

    We recently purchased HP LaserJet Color 2600n. After we bought and installed it in the office network, I was supposed to add this printer in our Redhat Linux 4.0 AS server. While adding this printer, we realized that it is not present in the standard list of printer drivers. And none was available on HP.com for Linux OS!
    After some research, I downloaded and installed driver from the following site - http://foo2hp.rkkda.com/
    The test printout came but in black and white.
    I went and registered this printer in my 11.5.9 apps
    All details same as another working HP Laserjet 4050 printer.
    I cannot print anything from my application!
    I get the following error:

    Printer : Laserjet2600N
    lp: unable to print file: client-error-not-found

    Also, I checked that the name of the printer in the application is same as the one in OS - no problems there.
