  • HP C3180 All in One Printer is printing the Wrong Colors

Hello my printer has been working great until recently.  I have new HP black and color print cartridges installed.  I cleaned the print heads with a q-tip and distilled water and the yellow color is peach.  I have also used the printer utlity mutliple times to clean the print heads/drivers and nothing is changing.  Any tips on what I should do?  I'm not sure why it's happening as I've not had this problem before.
    Many thanks,
    Jennifer

Hi - Did you have the problem before you changed the color cartridge?  If not, I'd recommend returning the color cartridge and getting a new one.  Though it is rare, occasionally a new cartridge can be bad.
Here is a link to a doc that provides some techniques to prevent this type of issue.
    Hope that helps.

  • Wrong colors when printing to HP Colorlaser Jet 4550 PCL 5c

I just upgraded from Labview 5.1.1 to Labview 6.1 on a Windows 95 Compaq Notebook. All the plot colors in 8 plot XY Graph indicator printed correctly on our network HP Colorlaser Jet 4550 PCL 5c using Labview 5.1.1. When I print the graph in Labview 6.1, sometimes some of the plot colors in the graph are wrong. In fact one of the plot switches color about 2/3 of the way across the X-axis. What is really weird is that the plot colors always print correctly in the legend. The VI prints the graph programically, but I also get the same inconsistent results when I copy the XY Graph to a new VI and use the print window comand in the file menu.
In my Labview preferences I use standard printing with colors and di
thering is turn on. The colors are correct when I programically save the front panel to either bmp, jpeg, or png files.
    What causing this strange behavior?

    Greg,
Thanks for your suggestion; however, it did not solve the problem. I set the line thickest to the maximum. Then I tried with and without dithering. The results were still inconsistent. Sometimes I got the correct colors; othertimes, some plots had the wrong colors. I attached two gif files as examples. The first shows the correct colors. The second shows that the 1st plot is yellow instead of blue. Also the 4th plot is green instead of red for the 1st 80% of the plot. Then it switches to the correct color, red. I have other graphs with different plots with the wrong colors. Notice that the colors in the legend are always correct.

  • Printing in Lightroom Produces Wrong Colors

I have searched these forums and found a couple of topics that have to do with incorrect or wrong colors being printed by Lightroom but none of the suggestions proposed seemed to help. So, I think that I have something else going on that is causing me problems.
The vital statistics: I am using Lightroom 1.4.1 on Vista Home Premium with an HP C7280 All-in-One printer. The pictures I am trying to print are DNGs converted by Lightroom. When printing in Lightroom, I select the option to have the color managed by the printer.
Basically, any picture that I print from Lightroom looks darker than the original. So, I tried a couple of different tests to try to find out what is going on. I exported a picture to a jpeg and printed that with the Microsoft Office Picture Manager and it printed fine.
I was curious what would happen if the photo was printed from Photpshop CS3. So, I created a copy of the DNG file from Lightroom and edited it in Photoshop. I printed the picture from Photoshop with the color set to be managed by the printer, and Photoshop also printed the photo with a dark look. I then changed the Color Handling to "Photoshop Manages Color" and the Printer Profile to sRGB, and the picture printed perfectly.
In addition, I tried printing jpgs from Lightroom, and I got the same dark results. Any suggestions as to what is going on will be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
    Michael

Unfortunately, Lightroom cannot print to this specific printer without tricks. The reason is that HP does not provide color management in the driver (which is why you have to use sRGB in Photoshop - shudder!) and does not provide icc profiles for it. This is HP not providing good drivers for their consumer-oriented printers, and Lightroom expecting at least reasonably modern printer drivers. Photoshop will print to anything by using the working space fall back that really is a hack. Unfortunately, Lightroom does not provide the same hack. In your case, there is a trick you can use, which is to find the "HP color Laserjet RGB" icc profile that HP ships with their laserprinter drivers. It is just an sRGB profile masquerading as a printer profile. If you use that in the profile field in Lightroom, it
    should work.

  • HP Deskjet D1455 printing wrong colors

So, I've had this printer for about a year, and have used it off and on with just a black ink cartridge.  No problems.
I recently bought a color cartridge and have been doing some printing.  Here's where the problem comes in....
Printing emails/word processing (these are what I've tested so far), any words that are in color aren't coming up the right color...Blue is printing as Magenta...green is printing as blue (these are the two that I've noticed so far).
    Notes:
    BRAND NEW ink cartridge
Test page from printer is FINE
This isn't a problem if I print a .jpg (clip art dowloaded from the net is printing in the proper colors...blue is blue, green is green)....it's just the words that i'm typing and changing the color of that aren't working.
    Thoughts?
I know just enough to be dangerous

  • Psa se 3.2 prints wrong color

Album will not print photo correctly it is not the printer. Even the print preview shows the print image as the wrong color (it adds a green tint). Any suggestions

I recently downloaded photoshop 3.2, upgrading from adobe photoshop. I'm very impressed with the auto fix window, and how bright and clear the pictures are, but I, too, am having the same trouble as Ann. When I tried to print off a photo, it came out with a blue tint, so I went back to photo, and reversed auto fix window to original photo. But when I tried to print it again, the photo appeared to be just washed out, with blue tones throughout photo. What can be done to get good color photos?? Thanks

  • Wrong colors when printing PDF in Draft Mode Printing (Win)

I am using Acrobat to print my contact sheets from the Print module (Windows). If I use the "Draft Mode Printing" in LR, colors in the resulting PDF are way off. Any idea what the settings in Acrobat should be, to obtain correct colors? I have tried many combinations in the "Adobe PDF Conversion Settings", especially in the "Color" tab, but with no success.
Note that colors in the resulting PDF are correct instead when I disable the "Draft Mode Printing" from LR.

No I did not build 1:1 previews first. The point of using the draft print is to me to do quick, so would rather not build any 1:1 preview. Anyway, I don't believe I got what you wrote: if I do not build the 1:1 preview, what is the color space of the print output in Draft Mode?

  • Prints coming out with wrong colors

I am currently running win 7 64 with lightroom 4.3and an Epson Stylus Pro 3880 networked. I also have a HP 2610 as local. When printing to the Epson I get print with a lot of red to the point it looks pink or purple. This is with the color management driver set to custom and color management turned off or vice versa with color controlled by printer. If I print to the HP colors look great. I really need help with this problem. I have tried different paper outputs with no luck. I also have the same problem in CS5. So I would think its something I am missing.
    Ron

It seems that is a problem that a few people had with the Epson 3880.
Red or magenta prints indicate double color management, i.e. in Lr and in the printer driver.
Check your settings carefully. If you let the printer manage colors you have to select "Managed by Printer" in Lr/ Print Module / Print Job / Color Management / Profile.
If I recall correctly one poster found that an old print preset that was created for a different printer was creating the problem.
There are lots of threads on this forum regarding problems with the Epson 3880. Do a search by entering "Epson 3880" in the search field where it says "Ask a question".

  • Bad photo prints on HP Color LaserJet CP5225dn Printer

    Hey all,
Having an issue outputting photos on my new HP Color LaserJet P5225dn printer from Adobe products. Am curious if anyone else might have run across the same issue and possibly found a solution. Here's the background information...
    Running Windows 8.1 Pro.
HP Envy Phoenix w/Intel core i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
    32 GB RAM
    2TB Raid 0 HD
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 640
Spyder-profiled HP Pavilion 25xi monitors (dual setup)
Running Adobe Creative Cloud (latest builds--issue present in prior versions, too).
Using HP Universal Print Driver PS (latest version--only option on Windows 8), but have tried PCL 4 and 5 drivers as well.
When printing from Adobe products, any photo seems to print without the yellow color. Color swatches and vector files print correctly. This issue seems to only apply to raster images--greens print blue, browns print purple, oranges print magenta. I have had HP support out to examine hardware of printer and everything checks out.
I have tried every combination of ICC profile, paper setting imaginable. Have tried printing as CMYK and RGB. Have reset preferences in Adobe software. Color issues are present in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, and the images print consistently off in all products (is purple in INDD is also purple in PSD, etc.). I have reset printer to defaults. I have tried removing color management and printing. I have tried printer diagnostics. I have tried having the printer manage color. I have tried having the application manage color. Everything prints consistently wrong.
I've updated video drivers, searched for ICC profiles specific to the printer, recalibrated monitors, no dice. Funny thing is that when you take that same file and send it to another printer, it prints accurately.
Any ideas for troubleshooting are much appreciated. Any solutions would be fantastic.
    Matt

Yeah, tried printing from PDF and image issues persist. I'm not sure what's going on if everything checks out from hardware standpoint. Appreciate your suggestions though.

  • I use an iMac running V. 10.10.2.  I have an Epson WP-4530 printer.  Is there a printer driver that will enable one to print photos from color negatives?

I use an iMac running V. 10.10.2.  I have an Epson WP-4530 printer.  Is there a printer driver that will enable one to print photos from color negatives?
I have already tried downloading the drivers from Epson as per one person's suggestions, but the dialog box isn't anything like what was suggested--the choices in the box weren't the same for the most part.  I don't want to lock up the computer or disable the printer for normal printing, but I have a lot of old negatives that I would love to have prints from.

I am using the latest software from Epson for Mac OS 10.10.2 that I downloaded last week.  I seem to remember that the older software (we're talking 6-8 years ago) had to option to scan slides or negatives and would convert the results into positives via the scanner.  I don't like the most recent scanning software because it jumps right into the scan before giving you a chance to change the options.  It uses the selected options from the previous scan which are sometimes right, sometimes wrong.  Thanks for your reply to my question!

  • When I print on letterhead that is thicker, the alignment of the print is wrong.

When printing on 20# white paper, the printer prints the file correctly.  When switching to a 24# letterhead, the printer prints lower on the paper, not in the proper area.

I am having the same issue.  My printer is an HP officejet pro 8600 plus.  When printing on letterhead paper the alignment is wrong.
My letterhead has a 1 1/2 inch header (the top 1 inch is blue).  The color goes to the edge of the paper.  The letterhead is the equivalent of #28 paper (heavier than copy paper).
When printing a letter I set it up to print 2 inches from the top of the paper.  (I normally do this by having the one inch preset margin in Word, and entering a few times until I am at the 2 inch mark on the side ruler.
When I print a single copy of a document onto letterhead the printing starts at the 3 inches down on the sheet of paper.  (It is as if the printer cannot see the top 1 inch of blue  on the letterhead!!!)
If I print that same document on white paper the printing starts 2 inches down.
When I print multiple copies of the same document, all onto letterhead, the first one prints 3 inches down and the rest print 2 inches down.
    I have tried:
Choosing a different paper type:  This did not work.  I tried thicker paper and custom paper but there was no change
Changing print source from auto to tray 1:  This made no change on a single document and caused EVERY document to print at three inches on multiple copies.
Changing to borderless printing:  No change
I tried a few other things - but nothing seems to work...

  • How to print with NO COLOR MANAGEMENT in Photoshop CS6

    Hi,
I have been trying to print a target from i1Profiler so I can read it with my i1Pro and create a printer profile, but no matter what I do, there is no way to get photoshop from supplying a profile while printing. I tried to select Printer handles color and then put the printer driver in COLOR MANAGEMENT OFF (seemed to me this would disable both the printer managing color and photosbop managing color). Tried printing this way ( and many other ways) but NO SOLUTION --- the prints are EXTREMELY different from the on-screen view (which is in a properly profiled Apple monitor) and they actually look like the ones with a profile chosen.
I also tried the utility Adobe Color Printer Utility and same results!!
I am using an EPSON Stylus Pro 7900 that I just purchased.
    Please help

The key here is to actually actually go ahead and print the target from i1Profiler to your printer...in the Test Chart panel, create the test chart and click on Print instead of Save As. As long as you have the correct page size set in the Page Setup, you should get an accurate printer target to read. Depending on how many patches you have set, it may take a few pages but they will be properly formated for reading with the i1Pro...
