  • Dv6775us HP Backup and Recovery Manager software corrupted - can't find download

I am getting an HP error message saying the HP Backup and Recovery Manager software has been corrupted and needs to be updated. For over an hour I have been frustrated trying to find where on this site to download a replacement of what was installed or an upgrade that would repair the problem.
Can anyone point me to where I can get the software? Thanks.
    HP Pavilion dv6775us

Did you make a recovery disk set or usb recovery media?
If you did, then you are in luck because  that is the software that can be used to reinstall the Recovery manager.
The downside is that you will have to do a  factory image recovery to reinstall the software.  A recovery is a destructive process, unlike a Windows stystem restore. A recovery will mean that you  will needto save all of your data externally  to avoid losing it and reinstall all of your programs after the recovery is complete.

  • HP Backup and Recovery Manager for Windows 7

I installed all the softwares and drivers that came along with the HP upgrade DVD. But, I find that the Backup and Recovery Manager missing on the DVD. Is there a Backup and Recovery Manager for Win 7? I liked the backup and recovery manager that was available on my Vista when I bought this laptop but is now unavailable because of the upgrade!! Any solutions for this? I do not want to use the default Windows Backup as I do not have a separate HDD at the moment to store the backup there and do not wish to populate my local hard disk with backup data!! Thanks.
    This question was solved.

Yea, basically. There's no working program for your laptop so it seems that you can use from within Windows 7.
However, if you have problems, recovery discs will work. As well, if your recovery partition still exists, you can still access it by pressing F11 when you see the HP logo at startup.

  • Application Restart and Recovery APIs doesn't work for windows services

I am using the Application Restart and Recovery mechanism (provided in Windows API Code Pack for Microsoft.NET Framework) to collect some information (i.e. stack information when there's an unhandledexception)  before my windows service crash down.
It works well for windows form applications, but the callback method wouldn't be called if the host is a windows service.
I have checked the article: https://msdn.microsoft.com/zh-cn/subscriptions/downloads/cc303708
But it doesn't specify clearly whether it works for a windows service. It seems that the recovery will only be activated when the user interacts with the error dialog of Windows Error Reporting (clicking "close" on the dialog, for example).
So I am wondering is my guess right that the Application Restart and Recovery mechanism doesn't work for windows services. Or is there a better way to meet my requirement?

I would suggest trying ARR if that's what you want to use.  The restart portion won't work, but it doesn't need to as if you fail out of your service, the Windows service controller will handle recovery (up to and including restarting your service).
You configure those recovery actions either through code or one of the built in administrative tools for services such as services.msc.
DebugDiag/ADplus and similar tools ultimately do use built-in APIs; you don't need to add anything external to collect debugging information.  You do however have to write a good deal of code to do somethings.  It's pretty simple to use the unmanaged
function that I pointed out before and
MiniDumpWriteDump to write a minidump when you hit an unexpected error(the dbghelp.dll that comes installed with Windows has it so you don't need anything additional installed).  You can even write a basic debugger that literally debugs a process using
    only kernel32 functions (see
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms679301(v=vs.85).aspx if you're interested).

  • Unable to scan and communicate with scan function C6180 Vista Home Premium 64 bit Printing works

I have an all in one C6180 Photosmart connected by wireless network (infrastructure). Network consists of 2-laptops, 1-Desktop and the printer.  Everything works from HP solution Center on the Compaq laptop and the Dell desktop both running Windows XP. My newest laptop is a Dell studio XPS core2   2.4ghz running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit. I am unable to scan from the Dell Laptop using HP Solution Center nor can I scan from the printer buttons to the laptop. Solution Center opens I select "scan document" and immediately get an error message "unable to communicate with scanning device. Likewise with the copy function.  The laptop does recognize the printer though and I am able to print wirelessly.  All functions work when connected via USB so I believe the printer is fine.  I have been working with this problem since I bought the printer in 2007. I spent many hours reading hundreds of internet posts, talking by phone with HP and via e-mail support from HP.  I became frustrated and gave up for awhile but now I want to see if there are any new solutions that I don't know about. I downloaded full feature software and drivers for the 6180 from HP and performed various levels of uninstall (L1, L2, L3, L4). I also cleaned the registry with ccleaner, windows disk cleanup and manual registry deletions when allowed per HP. I have checked port settings, tried stopping HP functions is Services.Msc. The Digital monitor is currently running, however no scanner communication-computer to 6180 and no scanner communication 6180 to computer. I can print and fax from computer wirelessly. I have ran the HP diagnostic utility separately and it appears everything is fine, connection IPaddress etc. During install when prompted to run test it says the printer is connected to the network. I have tried to add a device to the network after install and get the message no wireless devices found. The scanner does not appear under Cameras and Scanners in control panel. Nor will it find the scanner when I try to add device. Firewalls and antivirus have been turned off. Still can't make it work. Suggestions please.

Sorry about your pain.  L3 uninstall is what I recommend.  Re-install from hp.com and this time, with the printer properly attached it should flow OK.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • I want to find any backup and recovery solution for SharePoint server 2013 enterprise

    Dear Expertise,
Recent set up SharePoint server 2013 Enterprise, and looking for backup and recovery solution, does the built in Windows Backup can handle it, and how?
    KF

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to know some backup and restore solution for SharePoint 2013.
There are two Technet articles about the backup and restore, you can have a look at them.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee428315(v=office.15).aspx
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee662536(v=office.15).aspx
You can also use some third-part software tools to achieve the same scenario.

  • Backup and Recovery Tool

The Backup and Recovery doc for OCS 9 Rel 2 states that you can obtain the Oracle Collaboration Suite Backup and Recovery Tool from
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/solaris/cs/10g/9iAS_BR.tar
This links gives a page not found error and a search does not help me.
Anybody knows where I can find this file?

I registered a SR on metalink, and the support person could not find it either....
    Here is what they said:
Unfortunately despite my best efforts I have not been able to retrieve this 9.0.4 tool for you.
    It has been discontinued.
I am closing this TA as unresolved.
Please note that in the Collaboration Suite 10G there is a new tool called: ocs_bkp_restore.sh
And it comes with the installation of collaboration suite (you don't need to download it).
You can get more information on it from OTN

  • Backup and Recovery from Archive Log

    Dear all,
I implemented hot backup with oracle9i and
Can anybody suggest me how to backup and recovery archive log ?
    Thanks for advance.
    Chara

assuming you are using RMAN for backup -
    backup ( archivelog all );
backup ( archivelog all delete input ); - to delete from file system.
If you are not using RMAN but backup using a script which puts the tablespaces in hot backup mode then you just need to backup archive log directory.
The archive logs are required when you need to do a database recovery. You don't recover archive log files.

  • Issue with backup and recovery of WLS

I have installed WLS 10.3.6 in my 64-bit Linux box, now I am trying to take backup my server. I have a web-application deployed to my WLS, the path to my war file was something like:
    <home_dir>/install_files/myapp.war
Now to take backup I ran tar command on my current Linux box, now I copied the .tar files to my new Linux box and extracted it. When I am starting my weblogic server it is looking for the war file from the path <home_dir>/install/myapp.war which does not exist on my new machine. So I logged into Admin console of WLS on my new machine and trying to change the path for myapp.war by clikcing update button. But I am getting this error when I change the path:
weblogic.management.ManagementException: [Deployer:149007]New source location, '/u01/Oracle/install_files/myapp.war', cannot be deployed to configured application, 'myapp'. The application source is at '<home_dir>/myapp.war'. Changing the source location is not allowed for a previously attempted deployment. Try deploying without specifying the source.
Update operation failed - no deployments changed.
Please help me how to deploy my files. I'm expecting backup and recovery option should also take care of deployed files but it is not happening in my case, is that wrong?

    1. There is no specific order, but last to go down should be CMS and first to come up should be CMS.
    @echo off
    Stop Business Objects Services
    echo
    net stop "BOBJCrystalReportApplicationServer"
    net stop "BOBJEventServer"
    net stop "BOBJProgramServer"
    net stop "BOBJOutputFileServer"
    net stop "BOBJProcessServer"
    net stop "BOBJInputFileServer"
    net stop "BOBJDestinationServer"
    net stop "BOBJCrystalReportspageserver"
    net stop "BOBJJobServer_Report"
    net stop "BOBJCentralMS"
    exit
Similarly to Start services, instead of stop use start and put CentralMS at the top and save it as a batch file.
    2. Jobs running when the server goes down will fail, other recurring jobs will wait till the server comes up.
    3. Yes, backup File Store & Database.
    4. Not sure about the default password for My SQL, you should be able to backup the MySQL database, I have done that once.

  • Oracle Backup and Recovery 101: where can I get more information?

Hey everyone. I'm a pretty new Oracle DBA and backup and recovery is something I want to learn as much about as I can.
I read a blog about "how to be a good DBA" and it really drove home the importance of backups. I know how important they are, I just want to learn more.
What I mean is, I understand a lot of the high level concepts. It is pretty much straight forward. What I am looking for is something that really goes down in the internals of what is going on behind the scenes so I know what is going on.
I thought it would be extremely beneficial for me to learn about user backups. Granted, RMAN is the direction my company is heading to, but right now, we are doing user made backups. My thinking is that if I can get a solid grip and understanding of backup and recovery, user made backups, it will make the transition to RMAN much easier. That way, when I am working in RMAN, issue a command to do backup, I know the equivalent of a user backup and what is going on.
    I hope that makes sense.
Is there a recommended book that goes over backup and recovery in depth?
I'd like to learn about all the user-made backup commands that can be executed at the command line (example, putting a tablespace in backup).
Since backups are essential to the life of a DBA, I thought the more I know, the better off I would be.

You can always find good information from Oracle document site,
Oracle® Database Backup and Recovery Basics
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/backup.102/b14192/toc.htm
Oracle® Database Backup and Recovery Advanced User's Guide
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/backup.102/b14191/toc.htm
User managed backup is quite different from RMAN backup. For RMAN backup you need to get familiar with the RMAN command syntax and configure.

  • Oracle9i AS Backup and Recovery Utility

    Hello,
Our customer has some applications on oracle 9iAS and oracle db 9.2. I’m trying to find the Oracle9i Application Server Backup and Recovery Utility. It doesn’t seem to be included in the install of Oracle 9iAS. Does anyone have an idea where it could be found any more?
    Kind regards

    Hello
    Thanks for your question.
It seems it has existed in Oracle 9i because there is this Oracle White Paper in technetwork in which it is described:
    Oracle9i Application Server:
    Backup and Recovery
    An Oracle White Paper
    December 2003
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/9ias-br-128138.pdf
But I wasn’t able to get the download links working.
The backup and recovery utility is also mentioned on the pages of Oracle-Base:
    http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/9i/Oracle9iASBackupRecovery.php#DownloadSoftware
But the links weren’t working there either.
