HP iPAQ h5550

I have a HP iPAQ h5550 handheld. The iPAQ came with wi-fi. I have not been able to connect to the internet with the HP using the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router - WRT54G I bought a couple of weeks ago. The HP is working and can access wireless elsewhere. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  • Palm Lifedrive and iPaq H5550 transfer of data

I have finally managed to get my Palm Lifedrive to synch with my Windows 7 (64 bit) desktop using the Aceeca.com patches to the drivers. But I figure that my Lifedrive is really too obsolete now and I need to upgrade as some day it might just die on me.  I don't want a smart phone so was contemplating buying an HP iPaq H5550 as a PDA.
Does anybody know if it is possible to export  my Contacts and Memos lists from  Palm Desktop on my computer  across to  an iPaq H5550.  I have hundreds of memos and contacts and cannot face inputting them in manually again.
    Any advice would be welcome.
    many thanks

Since the iPaq is a WinMob device, switch your sync conduit to Outlook (if you have the program on your computer).
    Start Button/All Programs/PIM Conduit Sync/Sync with Outlook.
WinMob devices use Outlook as their PIM manager.

  • Ipaq h5550

I have problems saving my data from ipaq h5550 n Windows 7. Unable to find updated software. Has anyone found a solution to this type of problem?
The ipaq is saving on the device but I cannot find where this is stored on my computer now that I am not using XP anymore.
I am using Windows Mobile software to save currently. Not proving to be reliable. Is there an alternative which someone could point towards.
The Active Synch cannot be ujpdated as far as I can see.
Is there an updated software or somethong other which is compatible?

  • About Bluetooth communicaton on iPAQ h5550

    Hi, dear all:
I just made a test about the communication between PDA and Barcode scanner over Bluetooth. And it works out very well.
I could get the datas from virtual com port on PDA. But there is one thing I don't understand and feel wried a bit.
'Cause while I opened and got datas from Virtual COM Port 5(the index is 4 in Labview program), I couldn't get anything.
But when I changed to open Virtual COM Port 8(the index is 7 in Labview program), I could get datas from it successfully.
And when I went into the configuration of Bluetooth on PDA, it displays "Inbound COM Port: 5, Outbound COM Port: 8". I think my English
is not a problem for understanding this word. Inbound COM is for the place where the datas write into PDA from my Barcode scanner(or
other Bluetooth devices) and "Outbound COM" is for the datas write out through it. Right?
Hope there is someone who can answer me for this question. Thanks a lot.

    Andy,
I believe you are referring to this link:
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/5EB9312A6470F16A86256E7500726F15
The main subject of this document is about using the LV specific
Bluetooth functions (Open Connection, Write, Read, etc.). These
functions are indeed similar to TCP functions, but they act at a lower
level. When using virtual serial ports, you don't use specific
    Bluetooth
functions, you simply open a COM via the usual VISA function (on a PC)
or Serial Communication functions (on a PDA). In this case, you are
exploiting a service provided by the OS that is at a higher level than
    a pure BT connection.
What is relevant in your case is in the last paragraph of this document, Bluetooth Virtual Serial Port, where you can read:
    "You can open the serial
channel as an outbound (client) port or as an inbound (server) port.
When you open the port as an outbound (client) port, the driver prompts
you to select a Bluetooth device (server) to connect to. When you open
the port as an inbound (server) port, the driver waits to receive a
connection request from the client. Bluetooth serial port is based on
RFCOMM, which is different from a physical serial port. RFCOMM requires
roles of a server and a client when establishing Bluetooth serial
    connection"

  • J2ME in Pocket PC - sockets - serial port

    Hi Guys,
I am writing a J2ME application for a Pocket PC using Windows Mobile 2003
I have chosen the J9 VM to run my J2ME applications on the PPC.
My application will use tcp/ip sockets communication to connect to a server. Do you know if there are any issues of using this part of J2ME on a Pocket PC?? ( I have tested the same application on Java enabled mobile phone and it is fine)
I also want to access the serial port from my J2ME application (read/write data). Do you know if it is possible to do it on a Pocket PC through the normal way?? (using the javax.microedition.io package??)

evelknievel you said that implemmented bluetooth
connection like a serial link, where can i find some
documentation to do that?i am sorry, that i cannot offer you a link to a tutorial, because i just tried it out by myself using an iPAQ h5550 with windows CE 4.2 (i think this is equivlent to PocketPC 2003, or 2003 SE) which is able to create such connections. the bluetooth-driver of each side of your "serial bluetooth link" has to implement the so called "serial port profile". maybe you should google for it...
i found some information on this:
"To open the connection using the:
    * PocketPC
o Most Bluetooth drivers for PocketPC provide the mapping between Bluetooth serial ports and virtual COM (inbound/outbound) ports. For example WIDCOMM Bluetooth driver (BTW-CE 1.4) that comes with hp iPAQ h5550 by default assigns COM port 5 as the inbound Bluetooth serial port and COM port 8 as the outbound Bluetooth serial port. These COM ports are configurable from the driver's Bluetooth manager."
    i found it here:

  • Pocket PC DAQ operation Error 15

I got an Error 15 as I run the example code of LV 7.1 for Pocket PC for DAQ. All of the example code run with that Error. But I've once downloaded the executable MultiChannel AI, it works fine. But as there is no source code comes with that executable, I couldn't check what's wrong. Any idea ?
More info, I got the following Software and Hardware:
    Software:
    LV7.1 for Pocket PC
    NI-DAQmx Base 1.0
    OS: Pocket PC 2003 (English)
    Hardware:
    DAQ-Card 6062E
    HP iPAQ H5550
Dual Expansion slot for PC Card

    Hi,
So it seems like version 1.3 is only available for USB devices. So, are you still getting that error? The AI specs are:
Finite acquisitions using a single "retrieve the entire scan" setup will run pretty much at the fastest rate of the card (so for a 6024E, we're talking 200kS/s).
Continuous acquisitions, dragging out of application memory in chunks, use the cpu too much to acheive full rate. Estimate 4KS/s maximum regardless of the hardware.
Are you able to run any of the examples and get them to work through the daq card. I would use all of the default values and see if you can get any data.

  • [MMAPI][RTP]Transmit audio

    Hi everyone,
excuse me for my french accent, I would like to know how can I transmit some audio sound from my pda (ipaq) on the network by RTP ?
Can I use MMAPI for this ? Or must I use JMF ?
Can I write a DataOutputStream for sound ?
    thank for your replies

    Hi,
I'm working on a similar project too...
I'm try to use JMF but there is a java.io.Serializable Class not found...
I must include this class too ?
Another question: I must send voice and video in live streaming
from palmtop, what method can I use ?
    thanks
    salvo
    Hi indiana_jules,
i'm working on a similar project at your. first, i
tryed to use JMF, i've reached good results when it
regards receiving stage. Application runs fluently
and doesnt have latecy problem. But in transmission
JMF classes use too much iPAQ resurses to run. I'm
    working on iPAQ h5550.
now i'm looking for something of helpful in mmapi,
but i think it does't support rtp streaming.
i thank you, if you find something new

I started with innstalling IBMs J9 virtual machine, added jsr 082 (manualy), and then tried to run my application. However, this doesn't work, it fails during initialization of bluetooth. Can anyone please tell me what the problem might be?

what you need is a bluetooth stack installed on your PDA/
a really good one is Avetana and Cream...try them out,
    good luck! :)

    this is because ,
while creating the query conditions , u may be (or in program) passing  a string variable to one field descriptor(field) whose maximum length is 2 (that u can see in the meRepMeta.xml file itself.). But  the value passed to this field is greater than 2 . just chek in ur code whether passing a value , even space , is passing to that field while query condition creation or not.

  • Sync HP IPAQ (Mobile Pocket PC - H5550) and Minidisc Walkman to iMac

Having just moved from PC to MAC, I have a few questions....
I used to sync my IPAQ with PS using Active Sync. iSync doesn't appear to handle the IPAQ - is there a simple/free plug in needed?
If full sync is not possible then I would like to at least be able to copy the odd file from IPAQ to iMac and vica versa -is there a simple way to do this. (I successfully paired the 2 via Bluetooth but still cannot access the IPAQ with Finder??)
I also have a Sony Minidisk walkman which I used to use Sonic Stage to upload music to the minidisk. Sony says sonic stag is not compatible with MAC but is there a plug in for iSync or iTunes that would do it for me??
Many thanks for any assistance on these.

wrt IPAQ I was hoping there may have been a cheaper option but thanks for the info.
That's the best option for syncing Windows Mobile / PocketPC devices with a Mac. Others are:
    http://www.pocketmac.com/
    http://www.sync-mac.com/
If all I wanted to do was interrogate the IPAQ memory whilst the iMac and IPAQ are connected via BT do you think there is a simple solution for that?
The *Bluetooth File Exchange* application in the Utilities folder on your Mac should do that.
wrt MD walkman my model is an MZ-NH600 which is not listed as compatible but I guess I could try it and see what happens??
Yes, it will either work or won't.
The other alternative is to install Windows on your Mac using VirtualBox (free) so you can continue to use the few Windows apps that you can't find Mac alternatives for.

  • Issue with hp ipaq 614c and cisco ap

Hello. I tried to connect an ipaq 614c to a cisco ap1131 using wpa-psk tkip with no success. The ipaq connects without any problem to other access points including linksys. I've tried odysey client and I get the message: waiting for keys. The event log of the AP says: Packet to client reached max retries, removing the client. I am able to connect with other models of ipaq to the ap. Anyone know what the problem might be? I also tried disabling QOS but the result is the same.

Is the ssid only config for 1 security policy? I had an issue one time where the SSID was config for both WPA and WPA2 and i had issues. It wasnt till i selected just a single security policy that it worked.
You may want to try a real simple key at first. Try connecting it to an open network. Start 'unpacking' it so to speak...
You may see more info if you go into the CLI of the controller and debug the client. Also, if you have a layer 2 analyzer (AirMagnet or Peek you may see something of interest...)
