Could be a number of issues.  First could be a bad or not connecting transfer rollers which moves the toner from the drum to the paper.  Only way to test is a half test by putting paper on the manual tray and printing a self test.  When the back edge enters the printer, open the toner door to stop printing.  Remove the toner and flip back the cover over the toner drum to see if there is any image on the drum.  If image is present then it could be transfer roller issues.  Use the service manual and look under engine diagnostics in the index and it will direct you to a page that shows how to perform an engine test.  Do the test to see if you get a sheet of paper with lines on it.  If you get lines, then the issue could be the formatter.  If no lines and the shutter has been removed then I would think you are having high voltage issues.  You may have to bring the printer in for service.

  • Printer says jammed but there is nothing in it. Cannot get it to print.

Product Name:  psc 1350 all in one
    Oerating system:   Windows 7
    Error message:  Paper jammed
Was trying to print an envelope - this %^&* thing never does that right.  Now it says it's jammed, but nothing is in printer.  I have removed the back - I have turned it off and back on - I have disconnected it from PC, turned it off, reconnected it and turned it back on.  Nothing is doing any good.

I have checked the printer.  There is no paper.  I have cleaned it, unplugged it, turned it off and on, run the HP printer test.  It continues to say there is a paper jam.  I've looked at all parts with a flashlight.  There is no paper in there!  It still continues to have the "paper jam" symbol and won't print.

  • HP LaserJet P4515 - error 13.05.00 Fuser Output, Paper Late Jam.

HP LaserJet P4515 - error 13.05.00 Fuser Output, Paper Late Jam.
I have frequent Paper Jam errors of this type during duplex jobs. Simplex jobs seem to work fine unless I try to duplex manually by printing on one side and then the other.
When it jams, I will have one page hitting the sensors after the Pre-transfer roller, usually the next blank page from any given tray, and my duplex page, which has gone through one time and has returned for the backpage, folded in underneath or on top of itself after it passes the tranfer roller but before it hits the Fuser rollers.
Sometimes it wil happen every other duplex page or it may allow 5 to 10 before doing it again.
The fuser has been replaced twice, because I thought maybe the first fuser was defective.
I have run the component tests, sensor tests and they appear to be normal.
I need to know where I need to look next.
Right now I am considering changing the feed guide assembly, since that is where the jamming is taking place.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

The feed guide assembly was the culprit.
The main roller connected to the gears was broken, which allowed the smaller gear to come out.

  • Laserjet 1018 paper jam on way out.

    Hello,
My printer  prints some pages and then one (white page not printed) stucks on half way out.  Paper jam message appears on pc.
I cleaned everything inside,  then I changed the pickup roller with a new one but same thing happens.
If I send 4 pages to print are ok. If I Send 20   paper jam at 18 ..
The information for what to do if a paper jam happens does not help me for this problem.
    Thank you.

    Hi @Andrant ,
I see that you are experiencing issues when printing multiple pages, the paper will stop 1/2 way through and you get a paper jam message on the computer. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
It sounds more like a communication issue, which is causing the printer to stop printing in the middle of the jobs.
What file format are you printing? (PDF)
Try cutting the pages being printed down, the larger amount of pages could be stopping the Print Spooler on the computer.
Did you download and install the latest drivers for the printer, or are you using the Windows Classic drivers?
    HP LaserJet 1018 Printer Drivers.
I have provided a document with some steps to try to see if that will resolve this issue, by checking the driver installed and updating it. Wireless Printer Prints a Partial Page or Fails to Print All Pages in Windows 8.
Go to Step 3 for the update, then click the link for Workaround and under Step 4, go to steps 8.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
If you need further assistance, just let me know.

  • LaserJet 4L paper feed jams.

As the LaserJet 4L picks up the paper from the paper tray, it jams.  It has done this before and I have been able to fix it by  opening the drawer and  turning the wheel behind the black plastic rectangular thing on the far left and "messing" with the "rubberized" thing just to the right that seems to pick up the paper.
After attempting to fix it, the printer will usually print one page and then jam on the next page.
Love the printer, don't want to put it out to pasture.

Mine was picking up the paper then jamming just as it passed the main feed wheel. Ussually the first page would print but then the second page would stop right as the paper started passing under the smoked plastic sheild on top.  Finally fixed it by taking things appart and cleaning the two solenoids that control the feed events. One solenoid controls the D wheel that pickups up the paper - you can see the little metal lever against the D wheel when the paper tray is removed - the other is hidden inside the main roller assembly. Both the solenoids used some type of bumper tape (to stop the metal to metal clicking) that has deteriorated and left a sticky adhesive behind. This sticking is what throws off the timing and causes the jam. This adhesive need to be cleaned off and the machine should run again as new. I've had my 4L for 20 years, and hated to throw it out, it otherwise still prints great and the toner can be had cheap. Just fixed mine and it once again running perfect. Now I'm interested to see just how long I can keep this workhorse going. kudos to the old HP.
I took a bunch of pictures of the disasembly process if anyone is interested. Tricky at first, but only took 5 minutes the second time. (I only found the one solenoid the first time and had to go back in for the second)

  • Laserjet 1018 paper feed problem - started suddenly and now wrinkles paper but does not feed it in

This HP Laserjet 1018 is 4 years old, has worked flawlessly.  But a day or two ago it fed a sheet of paper, there was a ripping sound, and the paper emerged, printed, but with a 1/4" wide, 5" long missing bit near the bottom, running the long way of the paper.  I found and removed the crinkled up torn strip of paper, and have restarted this printer numerous times.  Since that incident, it refuses to feed paper correctly, but bunches it up and wrinkles it a bit from the left to right and does not feed it in.  Thus, won't work.  I can't see any broken parts or anything stuck inside -- and taking this printer apart is v. complicated -- no easy panel to remove to see the feed mechanism.   I'm doubtful I can take it apart enough, and still get it back together.  I've cleaned the feed roller (small half-round gray rubber thing) and it does not seem to be the problem.
    Questions:
    a) anyone experienced, and solved this problem?
    b) is it worth trying to send this for repair (I got it on special for $69, and the replacement equivalent now appears to be the HP P1102w, which is selling via Amazon for $94.99
    Thanks

  • Paper tray hp laserjet 1018

It should be simple.  I cannot close the paper tray of my HP LaserJet 1018 printer.   It is hinged and when I lift it, it moves about 30 degrees and stops.  I am afraid that if I force it any farther something will break.  How does it close?  It was close when I bought it.

  • HP Laserjet 1018, Word 2007 on Windows XP - Duplex printing alignment

HP Laserjet 1018, Word 2007 on Windows XP
Want to Print a book on both sides of A4 paper. I am printing one page per
    page (not the book mode).
If I print single sided, the top of the page (e.g. header text) on odd and
even pages are aligned. When I print duplex mode, odd pages print fine but
the even pages are shifted down. Thus the header text are not aligned.
I think this is more a problem with the way the printer is managing duplex
printing. While printing in duplex mode, the printer first prints in reverse (with bottom of
the page as ref) to enable placement of the output sheets back into the input
tray without rotation. Is this messing up the alignment?

  • Sharing LaserJet 1018 from Vista host to XP users

I've been sharing my LaserJet 1018 on an XP desktop to several XP laptops for a long time, and it works flawlessly.
I've now bought a Vista 64 bit desktop, and wish to connect the 1018 to it and share it. (And get rid of the XP desktop). It all seems to work, but then problems arise:
Printing from a (corporate) XP Pro laptop, I get a message that my print spooler has stopped. I can't print to anything until I reboot the laptop.
From a (personal) XP Pro laptop, I can print sometimes but not others. I can run a test print, and mostly can print from Internet Explorer, but not from Excel. (!!!) When I can print, I don't get any feedback (such as, "you're out of paper").
From an XP Home laptop, I'm asked to reinstall the print drivers every time. And then I can't print - I forget the error.
I've connected each of the laptops to the printer directly (USB) and installed the drivers that way, and they all work flawlessly when directly connected. The Vista machine prints flawlessly, either directly to the printer or over the network to the old XP desktop. When the printer is connected to the old XP desktop everything works perfectly.
Also, another printer - an Epson Photo printer - connected to the Vista desktop and shared in exactly the same way works flawlessly.
I've downloaded the drivers appropriate to my operating systems from:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=1814094&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us&submit=Go%20%C2%BB
Initially I didn't, but now I've also installed the "other OS" drivers onto the server - no apparent difference.
This is on a wireless home network. The printer is mapped via IP address and that seems just fine - same as the Epson.
Any suggestions? This feels like a buggy Vista driver to me.
    Thanks,
    Tim

I am having very similar challenge with Vista 64 home premium and laserjet 1020. The Vista 64 spooler file seems to have become corrupted, since the printer worked for several months with vista before the error messages and continues to work fine with my old computer running xp pro. HP chat sessions (14 hours) have been entertaining but unhelpful, and phone support insists that the spooler error is with the printer, which is more than 6 months old. I have rebooted, reinitialized the printer from Vista and dos, reloaded and reinstalled printer drivers.  Did you get a fix for this?

  • HP LaserJet P2015 Tray 1 paper feed

My HP LaserJet P2015dn printer has been my workhorse printer since new, especially for printing checks, envelopes, forms from paper Tray 1. I always print using the Auto Select for paper feed, so that if there are checks/envelopes in Tray 1, they will be selected. For the past 6 weeks or so, the printer will not feed from Tray 1 on demand, that is will not pick paper from Tray 1 if Auto Select is enabled as I have used it in the past.
Printer will pick from Tray 1 IF Tray 1 is specifically selected OR Tray 2 has no paper or is removed. I doubt I can retrain myself to do either of these things as work arounds.
Stupidly, I paid a $50 bench fee for a technician to tell me the printer is mechanically working as it should. On further investigation, I have determined that the HP print drivers is use seem to have been installed on July 10, 2008 (about the time this issue started AFAIK) from a combined installer HPLaserJetP2015andColorLaserJet2605_2700.dmg which I installed for my Color LaserJet 2605dn printer.
I still have the prior LJP2015OSXfullsol.dmg on my hard disk, but reinstalling same does not seem to replace the new driver with the old.
So, is there any way to get rid of the the newer print software OR overlay the older on the newer? Other suggestions?

So, I cranked up my old PowerBook G4 (OS 10.4.11) which has the older driver for the P2015dn and the problem remains.
I have made some progress: If I want to print with paper feed from Tray 1, I pull Tray 2 out a few inches, load the paper in Tray 1, start the print job, and the yellow Attention LED flashes indicating an error. Note that the Paper Out light does NOT come on. So I press the Go button, the Attention LED goes out, and the print job completes using the forms in Tray 1 as desired.
So I'm thinking now, What Error condition? and why does clearing it make it print?
Certainly seems like a hardware problem to me as this is NOT the way the printer is supposed to work as documenetd in the User Guide.
