HP LaserJet 2200DN Printer Driver

I have an old 2200DN printer but up to now it has been a jewel.  As a high school teacher, I used it for years to print materials for my classes.
Somehow , in the last 24 hours, I've lost the connection between my printer and my computers.  My HP OfficeJet driver shows up and that printer works for both of my computers but the LaserJet printer, my workhorse, doesn't work.
My computers are Macintosh computers. One computer is running OS 10.9.5 and the other is 10.6.
When I try to print, the computer tells me the printer is offline although I think I have it fully connected. I tried using my old HP disk but the message I get is that my computer no longer accepts the classical format---or something.
I've tried the HP site but when I type in LaserJet 2200DN the search comes back "unknown."
I've spent hours today trying to find a printer driver to reinstall.
Help.

I am really sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial printer. You can do this at Printers - LaserJet.

I have got realy annoying problem with printer driver installation on HP LaserJet 1102.
Basically I downloaded driver from the website and tried to install printer. When the installation is almost done, the message pops up(image attached).
I've checked printer spooler service, tried almost everything.
    Any suggestions/ideas?
    Thanks

I would suggest going into your control panel and uninstalling everything associated with the p1102, rebooting your computer and trying a fresh install.
If this does not solve the install issue, please repost and error message along with your OS so that we may better help you.

    Hi jp21,
I hate to hear you are having issues.  Please Click Here for available software for this unit.  Due to the variety of Linux systems and supported printers for those types of systems, you may be redirected to other sites.   For this type of OS you may need to download an updated version of HPLIP or install it if missing.  Please Click Here to determine if you need to install or update HPLIP.  Please see the steps below to navigate previous software link and confirm the current IP address.  If you are not able to ping the printer's current IP address skip to the user guide link to troubleshoot networking issues.
    From driver/software page:
    1. Click Linux
    2. Scroll down and click obtain software(under pink band)
    3. Click the link in middle of page labeled, 'Download Linux drivers from HP Linux Imaging and Printing Web site'
    4. Click hplip link(this will redirect you to the HPLIP download)
    5. Determine if HPLIP download/update is required from link above
    6. If required click download
    7. Answer initial installation questions
    8. Follow prompts to install HPLIP and printer
    Confirm IP address:
    1. From product control panel-print configuration page
    2. Press and hold Go button for 5 seconds
    3. Configuration page will print

  • HP Laserjet 4 printer driver for mac osx 10.8.5

Anybody know of a mac osx 10.8.5 printer driver for a HP Laserjet 4?

Yeah, looked at this list earlier - they've got v. 19.8 for a Laserjet 4 Plus but mine is a plain Laserjet 4 so I doubt it would work. I used a Gutenprint driver v. 5.2.3 with Leopard that worked OK. Mountain Lion doesn't seem to like it as much...

  • Hp color LaserJet 3500n printer driver

I just got a new iMac and have marveled at how EASY everything's been ... so far. Of course, Murphy just couldn't resist and I can't get my oldie but goodie hp color LaserJet 3500n printer to print.
I clicked + in the Print & Fax System Preferences. It found the printer. Then, the automatic driver selector chose hp color LaserJet 2.0.2. Well, that didn't work.
I went to the hp site and the driver they have is OLD, but I tried it anyway. No luck.
Any ideas short of a new printer?

Try the three-part hpijs driver from here:

I got My Mac to "see" my PC's shared folder and I'm so excited. Then I tried to print but it didn't have my print driver: the HP LaserJet 1100. Is there some way to get it or some other way to make it work?
    Thanks.

No I am. I started to answer a different question. Sorry. If I could delete my post I would have.

  • Laserjet 1000 printer driver for windows 8.1

Need help to locate a printer driver for my laserjet 1000. Thanks for the help...

If your Windows 8 is 64-bit I think you are out of luck.
If your Windows 8 is 32-bit, you could try the Windows 7 solutions given in the earlier message. They might work with Windows 8.
The LJ 1000 is indeed a great printer and it is sad that HP has not continued to supported the customers who bought it.

  • Unwanted LaserJet 4100 Print Driver Download - Desperate - help!

HP has downloaded a Print Driver for LaserJet 4100 which I do not have and did not ask for.  I do not have HP Update enabled on my machine.
This driver has now installed it no less than 30 times on my computer and wiped out all previous dates in System Restore.  How do I find where this is and get rid of it.
Help, please.  This is crashing my business computer!

I apologize as I did not write exactly what I was thinking. I remember you stating there was a computer that you did not have access to, which has 4100 software on it, but no 4100 printer attached. I made an assumption that it was on the network, as well. Sorry for the misinterpretation.
The update process for drivers works along these lines, depending on the particular printer, of course. When an update for drivers is requested either manually or by software, then a connection is made to download new drivers. Now, if everything is perfect, then the correct drivers are downloaded. However, if something indicates that 4100 drivers are needed, even though that is wrong, it will try to get those drivers. If it does not retrieve what it believes to be the "correct" drivers, then it will try again, but in this case, it obviously failed. I do not know how many times it will try to get the "correct" drivers, but from the sounds of it, much too many times. Whatever is downloading these updates is not satisfied with the results.
In this case, my suggestion would be to remove any HP software through uninstallation. I would even uninstall the C6180. If there are no other HP devices attached to the computer, then I would also remove any unused HP folders. This would include the HP 4.7 folder, as there may be driver update software located there, possibly including HP 4100 software. Once removed, then reboot the machine, and reinstall the C6180 printer. Remember to opt for the manual updates, not the automatic updates. At that point, there should not be anything on your computer that would request any kind of HP update at all.

  • One month for LaserJet 1006 printer driver

Just spoke with HP support using online chat.
Was informed that it would be a month before a printer driver for the LaserJet 1006 will be available.
I find this hard to believe.
    Alan

HP Printer Driver update (version 2.2) is available through Apple Software Update or directly via download from Apple.
I just downloaded and it works fine with my P1006.

  • Windows 7 - HP Laserjet 8500 print driver problem

I have tried everything imaginable to correct this HP 8500n print driver problem with no success, please help!
I cannot correct or get rid of a reoccurring “Incompatible Print Settings” error dialog box message that repeatedly states that “There are one or more conflicting settings. One of the settings is: Output Bin: Mailbox 1, Accessory Output Bin: Not Installed”. The radio button options are “Restore my previous settings or Keep this setting, and I will change it later”. This same dialog message repeats 13 times for all the other various conflicts each time you click on printer properties to change to 2 sided printing or any other printer settings. This printer does not have any of these features attached or set into it.
I am a volunteer that manages a number of computers on our small church LAN, 2 computers operating on MS XP-SP3, 2 on MS Windows 7 Home Premium and my 2 problem computers that came pre-installed with Vista Home Premium of which I have performed an HP OEM upgrade to Window 7.
I have isolated this print driver problem to the Vista operating system and even when computers are upgraded to Windows 7 does not correct this driver error. I have also tried every possible print driver variant of the HP 8500, HP8550, PCL, PS to include the Microsoft versus HP versions with no success. In each case I get this error yet neither of the XP computers or the computers that had Windows 7 as a original operating system have no problems with their print drivers for this printer.
Yes, I have repeatedly searched and upgraded the operating system and print drivers. In desperation I have even tried to find the correctly behaving Windows 7 print driver and transfer it to these Vista upgraded to Windows 7 machines. However I could not isolate the driver location.
The only thing I can conclude is that this errant HP print driver was resident within Vista and remains resident even after a HP OEM Windows 7 upgrade. Additionally, all of these computers are configured to access this printer via its static IP address on the network.  The XP computers are 32 bit, all of the Vista upgraded to Win 7 and OEM Win 7 computers are 64 bit machines all with respective OS.
Can anyone please help me correct this problem?

    Hi,
Unfortunately I can't see your uploaded image yet as it is awaiting approval from HP.
From what I can see you are correct that HP does supply drivers for this printer and that the drivers for your printer are already included with Windows 7.  On the machines affected, try the procedure below to see if it helps at all
Next download revo uninstaller on the link below and install it.
    http://www.revouninstaller.com/download-freeware-version.php
Disconnect the printer from the PC.
Run Revo and see if it finds any  HP Printer Software installed.  If it does, right click the software icon and select uninstall.  During the process you may be asked to delete registry entries.  If you are, just select all and click delete.  Do the same for any left over files and folders.  Once completed, reboot the PC.
Re-connect your printer to the PC and follow the guide below.
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?&objectID=c02536257
If this helps you will need to repeat the process on each of the affected machines.
    Best wishes,
    DP-K

  • HP Laserjet 4050 - print driver is messed up in Mavericks

Landscape settings are ignored when printing envelopes - Apple hosed their HP printer driver.
Is there a way to go back to the previous version of the driver?

No solution, but will add that as of the security upgrade (10.9.2), landscape settings are ignored on my Canon MG 6220. All relevant software is the most recent. I have tried every solution offered in support EXCEPT using the AirPrint drivers in lieu of Canon's because they are 1) less functional; and 2) have booby-trapped default settings that require 3 extra steps to print anything. That this question is this old suggests Apple doesn't really care.
